Jill & Jessa specials coming - MERGED

I wonder if it's the same camera and film crew that they always had. I have never understood how they can film such a scam of a family, but hey, everyone needs a paycheck. Is the film crew fundie as well?  I was hoping that someone from that crew would help a few members escape once 19 kids was axed since they would have the resources and knowledge to do so. It's so sad. Run Anna Run!

On another note, do you think choo choo is named that because of the gravy train or the trainwreck?

love this!  Or maybe because they are fully trying to blanket train him?  Perhaps he willfully disobeys his parents and keeps scooting off that blanket like a train, and they're trying to derail him?

ok, sorry, not sorry for that :my_rolleyes:

ok, back on topic.  Has Anna been given a choice to appear and tell her story?  I would think that a proper press release would have been a much better way to do this if she truly wanted share her side of the story.  And I mean proper, not like that thrice edited crap Josh put out.  A well thought out, professionally guided statement would carry better than being part of a Duggar RV special

$5 says that "It was heartbreaking to hear what had happened" references either Jill or Jessa's birth complications or something completely irrelevant to Joshgate

You're probably right about this. Or the fact that the molestation scandal was reported (not that it actually happened).

Are they using the same crew for Counting On as well? I assume so, they'd just have to split their time between Arkansas and where ever the Dillards are on vacation.

I assume that Choo choo is just a baby noise that Israel likes to say, but I like your idea way better

Wow a Sunday premiere date. They're really trying hard to push this. I hope it bombs in the ratings. Please, everyone, let Buzzard take one for the team or watch online. lol

THIS! is so important I have to Quote it so that is can be read again. This Special Needs really bad Ratings! No clicks to People, no klick on TLC not Ratings for the Special.

One can dream, one can hope.....

honestly watching Anna talk gave me chills, so so sad

Just from what is on that clip, we have no idea what Anna is even talking about.  Who knows what question she was answering?  The impression that it was all about Josh might just be TLC hype.

What else would she be crying like that about? Obviously it wasn't Jessa's birth - that might have been scary or nerve-wracking, but it wasn't heartbreaking. It's either the molestation scandal, or the Ashley Madison scandal, or both.

Just the fact that she is talking about it publicly for ANY reason is very brave of her, that is what gives me chills

You're guessing.  She could have been talking about the family losing the TV show or about the FOX interview or quite a number of things.  That's why I said we shouldn't jump to conclusions about what she was addressing in the clip or what she will be speaking about on the first special.

Jill: "My first thoughts were for Anna"

That to me sounds like they are talking about the Ashley Madison scandal.

We'll have to wait and see.  The first part of the clip was when Jill and Jessa were talking about the police report that was made public in May and how it affected them that it was made public.  That affected Anna, too, and she made public statements at the time.

TLC has been known to frequently manipulate clips.  But I can't imagine them involving Anna without having her address that pig the elephant in the room.

Just guessing, but as she's clearly in with the Duggars, we'll probably hear that, as sad and as heartbroken as she is, she still loves and forgives Josh and looks forward to his return.

At this point it wouldn't even shock me if Josh himself turns up in some sort of sick confessional during one of the specials.

Reality shows are not healthy for children and other living things.

I think they will talk about the Ashley Madison scandal for the first 5 minutes of the show. And then the normal duggar type programing after that.

Sure TLC manipulates clips, but they cannot sit Anna down like that and just have her talk about Jill or Jessa having complicated births- I mean, thats ridiculous. And they already all commented on the molestation scandal prior to Ashley Madison, it would be weird if they went backwards on that (Jessa's "How can it happen?") after the Ashley Madison Scandal. Even leghumpers would be pissed if they openly ignored ashley madison, but had Anna do single interviews clearly upset about something.

However, I think it will get brushed over. 5-6 minutes, and then never mentioned again.

Still, thats 5-6 minutes where we have some Duggars say something about this scandal in an obvious negative light. Thats big for the dugs!

It will probably be the typical BS, nothing really new. There will be talk about the Joshley Madison and a few tears but apart from that they all forgive him und keep sweet.

I actually want to hear what Josiah has to say about Joshgate. I don't know why but that would be interesting...There will be nothing raw and honest from the girls or the parents. JD and Joseph do not seem to want to show their opinion on any matter let alone Josh. With a failed courtship under his belt and being the first boy in the row who is not super masculine, I want to hear what Josiah has to say.

Unless you are a Nielsen Household, whether or not you watch won't have any affect on the ratings, right?

OH BUT MY PARENTS ARE A NIELSEN HOUSEHOLD

they are fundie extra lite, zero calorie version baptist (I'm from Texas, the only state where you can legally hang a man for stealing cattle, are you really that shocked?) and "appreciate" the Duggars even after my many arguments against them. My mom loves every TLC show, bless her heart. I will see what I can do though yall.

:my_cry:

ETA: my grandparents still have confederate money, just in case the south shall rise again

I picture it going down the same way, but with a few bars of Born a Woman playing softly in the background just before the clip cuts to commercial.

Each thing you mentioned has to do with Josh. I really don't see an issue with anyone saying, "She's probably talking about [whatever]." No one's claiming to know for sure. Given that you enjoy using The Inquisitr as a reliable source to back up your own arguments, I'm kind of bemused by this sudden crusade for skepticism on your part, but okay. We won't speculate until The Inquisitr confirms it.

We used to be a Nielsen household and I never watched anything on TLC once we were.  Made damn sure that I accidentally turn the TVs to Faux News either.

Haven't watched anything on TLC since we stopped being a Nielsen household either.

That most recent clip shows the same footage of Jill and Jessa talking that was in the one TLC put out on October 19.

http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/jill-jessa-counting-on/counting-on-digital-exclusive

They added 20 seconds from Anna.  The problem for TLC now is that Jessa's baby has been born and everyone's attention is back on Josh because of the lawsuit filed two days ago.  That story is being covered by every major newspaper and news channel in the county.

It doesn't look like they are going to shoot a Thanksgiving scene at the Duggars, or they would be focusing on that right now.  TLC has just 3 weeks to try to get some good publicity and interest in the first special, but Josh is capturing all the headlines again.

I agree, I will be surprised if the first part of the Anna clip was about Joshly Madison...although I am not so sure about the second part, where she is looking down.  Have to say I do feel for her-she truly seems to believe all the things she has been taught since childhood, and it is unlikely she will ever leave him because of this upbringing.  Its so easy for us on the outside to see her options, and that those options would not make her a terrible person.  I hope she can find happiness.

I wish Anna would say something about it but I don't think she can talk about it.  When that story broke at the end of August and Josh was sent away to Bible school, Jim Bob and Michelle posted a statement on their blog but Anna hasn't said a word.

When the old police reports were released at the end of May, she was quick to post a very long statement about that, saying that she knew everything before they married and Josh turned his life around, etc.  But, after the adultery and porn addiction confession, she hasn't said anything.  That was three months ago.  If she were open to discussing her thoughts, I think she would have done so before being filmed by TLC.

I'll be watching online. I don't like that they're exploiting her, but I'll admit to being SUPER CURIOUS about what she has to say.

I agree!

As much as I don't want Anna to be exploited by this and don't want to give the family any more attention than they deserve, her story is now much more interesting than anything the Duggars had been dreaming up before. They have been trying to create compelling fiction out of side hugs and courtship chaperones, which made for some infuriatingly bland reality TV. But with Anna - this shit just got real! I am now invested in her character and want to know how this plays out. I hope for her sake there is some character development, though. And by that I mean I hope she ends up leaving the cult once and for all!

Can she (will she be allowed...) discuss Joshgate II with pending litigation? Will anyone connected with the Duggar brand?
