just maybe, a parent somewhere will decide to put their womb in God’s hands

Eww, putting my womb in God's hands sounds so icky. Also you notice how there is never any talk about putting his penis in God's hands?

But seriously, the only important baby-making equipment is the womb, the penis is never discussed.

BTW, I just noticed that first picture takes place in the girls' bedroom. You can see beds in the background. The room looks rather spacious, but the beds appear to bed twins.

Is that a toy camper in the backgroun (left of mary's shoulder)?

It could belong to the ABC girls or have been dug out of a box where other SAM sisters' old toys are so that their nieces could play with it...but I just would NOT be at all surprised if any of Steve's children still kept a few favourite toys in their room...

BTW, are there other pictures of the inside of the house on their blog? Other than the kitchen and dining room, I only remember one of Stevehova and Ter's bedroom.

I looked for another topic thinking someone had to be snarking on the post just prior to the baby announcement was a big reveal, apparently Mary is the illustrator for the next Moody book Sarah is still writing, and the elusive candy bar is in one of the photos. So, does Mary earn part of the profits from the book or is this a way to avoid having to pay an artist for pictures by keeping it in the family?

I think it serves many functions.

1) Sarah doesn't have to deal with someone outside the family. Her sister can illustrate!

2) It keeps Mary occupied, so they can say she's not just wasting her life dusting ceiling fans. She's an artist!

3) It saves money, which could be spent on expensive iPhone cases and sacks of dry beans.

I saw the new Seriously Dads today. Only Steve would compare sleeping in one day to a relapse or an affair :embarrassed:

That made me go "Seriously?!" I see what you did there, Steve.

Seriously Fast, Saturday, November 7th, through Sunday, November 15th—a portion or all. Sign up in a forthcoming Seriously.

Is this suggesting a fast or a workshop for the whole week? Just curious.

Also, is the imaginary dad in question having a mid life crisis? Sleeping late, having the first beer in 20 years so as not to offend the neighbor (Sorry, this is grownup land, people who drink all the time may pass on a beer if they don't want one, without fear of offending anyone) , married 20 years and now having an affair and looking at porn.

As far as falling asleep and crashing into a church bus, two things.

1) should have slept in and

2) God works in mysterious ways.

I'm going to pray that Stevie's alarm clock doesn't go off tomorrow and he doesn't wake up for a whole hour.

And Teri will be sitting by his bedside the whole time praying for him to wake up but not saying anything as she continues to "reverence" him.

Right? What adult takes an unwanted beer at a barbecue to not offend his neighbor?! If you don't want a beer just say, "No thanks, water/Coke/iced tea for me please?" And literally NO ONE will notice or care or be upset. Steve thinks adults in their 60s operate like a 1980s Just Say No peer pressure video. "Come on Maxwell, just one beer. Are you chicken?"

I entertain a lot, usually with paired wines and pre-dinner cocktails, and when someone asks for a soda or water it is no big deal. Maybe they just want water today or are allergic or don't like alcohol or are teetotalers or in recovery or hungover or taking cold medicine. Who cares? Steve, your neighbors will just give you iced tea and then forget all about it in the next six seconds while you obsess for weeks.

Steve justifies his demi-god status by painting everyone else as evil. There can't be an 'Us' if there is no 'them'.

Exactly! And hell, even younger folks are like this; unless you're with a bunch of supremely immature people, if you say "nah, I don't drink" or "sorry, I'm driving tonight/on medication/not feeling well/watching my calories/looking out for my health/whatever" or even just "no thanks, I'll just get a Coke", we drinkers will happily fix you up a soda or a cup of water, or even a virgin cocktail if we're feeling fancy. If Steve said "no thank you, I don't drink", it would have been completely fine. But that wouldn't make him seem like a holy martyr turning down the evil no-no juice.

I think since Steve and the Maxwell clan rarely interact with the outside world, they struggle to come up with real world examples.

I just checked and the Corral blog appears to be gone!

P.S. This is my first post and I'm thrilled that it is somewhat Maxhell related :)

I think Mary is doing a picture book for children.

...and, in the Mother's Corner, it appears that the 1TonRamp isn't meeting the Maxwells' "business needs" and so that will be most likely eliminated. Still, there's the chance to sign up for one last godly Internet educational lecture... nah.

edited for riffles: "growth goals" not "business needs."

We’ve found if a business doesn’t meet your goals, it’s time to move on. Thus, I’m renewing my focus on my IT work.

So, I wonder, if he's freelancing in IT or working at a JOB, will he have to work with evil non christians or even Women?

Who would have guessed so few people would pay for classes on how to surf the web...

Nathan is really missing the boat not being involved in social media. Honestly, he could even start his own FB page as a closed group and reach people more effectively than he is right now. But social media is evil at the Maxwell Compound so that will never happen. The Maxwells are just not keeping up with technology and society in general. Tough lesson.

Yes, OneTonRamp is biting the dust. I just saw that too.

We launched ITonRamp in May of 2011, with the goal of equipping others with technical skills. That has been successful. Young people and parents alike have taken many courses and learned a lot. However, ITonRamp has not met our growth goals, so we’ve felt led to close the scheduled courses side. As we evaluate our business model, we may offer videos of the courses, but we’re not sure.

Not meeting our growth goals = people are not signing up.

So Nathan is ramping up his freelancing IT work AKA "business," he's been doing that for a long time, and Sarah will have a lot more time on her hands. "Sarah, in particular, has been amazing at holding the organization together, keeping us on schedule, and ensuring that all the pieces needed for each course were in place."

Poor Sarah. She always gets the grunt work.

I agree. Rebel Melanie has, or at least had at one point, a twitter account. No tweeting, just following family. Still crazy worldly for a Maxwell.

Seriously? Wow! I've been watching the Maxwells for years and never heard that. That's awesome and progressive for a Maxwell!

Not surprised. If you're gonna severely limit your target market- i.e. aiming at people exactly like you, Christ-centred and all- then everyone who is interested will have taken the courses by now. It's been open for four years, which is kind of surprising. Thing is, how do you make computer courses Jesus-centred? Constantly bring up Bible verses? Electronics didn't exist in the Bible, ya know...
