The church claims that Shagena was just a volunteer and passed all background checks!

His lawyer claims that this is not what it's made out to be, looking forward to their day in court, blah blah.

"David Shagena was arraigned Dec. 24 on charges of children-accosting for immoral purposes, children-distributing obscene matters, fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct - victim 13 through 15, and children contributing to delinquency, according to court records.

"He was arraigned on Christmas Eve, where a $10,000 bond was set and has since been posted," the St. Clair County Sheriff Department said in a statement. "Shagena was a youth leader at The River Church when multiple minors came forward reporting inappropriate actions by Shagena."

$10,000 bond is absolutely paltry, so what's the story here?

The obligatory "It's not our fault" email from the pastor:

"Mr. Shagena was never on staff nor did he serve in a leadership capacity in our church at any time," Bill Wahl, the church's lead pastor, said in an email. "He was an attender and served in a volunteer capacity only. With any volunteers within our church who volunteer in our children’s departments, a background check is completed prior to approval to serve. It is important to note, Mr. Shagena has not attended The River Church since early 2019

Possible grooming behavior, but with no sexual contact?

The last paragraph refers to a Wahl (former youth pastor) who was found guilty of various child-related sexual misconduct, and that’s where Shagena’s name came up.  Is this the same person who is now the lead pastor, or perhaps the son?  Anyway, I’d steer clear of that church, yikes.

Ok so in Jill’s stories, she posted part of the zoom call with Lisa Metzger. Lisa is talking the whole time telling her plexus story. They all have plexus stories. Lisa said she used to make fun of people who sold “the Kool-aid” which was plexus. Until she tried it and of course it was amazing. But what was funny to me is that she admitted that since she had a blog and a faithful following, she decided to start selling plexus. She’s saying she knew she had a built in market to sell to. That’s skeezy to me. Her blog has nothing to do with plexus or MLMs. It was all about abortion, quiverful, homeschooling, etc. but she knew it would be so easy to get her followers to buy her crappy overpriced drinks. I personally think that’s gross since these people aren’t coming to her blog for pink drink. But she will take advantage anyway. Just my opinion.

Just like Shoshanna Pearl Easling and her sisters & mother, or Stacy McDonald and her daughters.

They had existing leghumper fanbases who already hung on every post so it wasnʻt too hard to convert those people into downlines.

I just realized I meant to put this in the JillRod thread! I’m so tired today for some reason. But yes, these people take advantage of these followings they already have. And I find it gross.

So sick of these people. There need to be some big-ass lawsuits against them, with major damage awards.

The Wartburg Watch posted on this earlier this week and said that the Wahls were previously connected to the IHOP cult in KS.

Quote

The Wahl family lived in Monroe, LA from approximately 2002-2012. While there, Bill Wahl worked as Executive Pastor and Student Ministries Pastor at House of Prayer International Church. The International House of Prayer in Kansas City is somewhat infamous and I wondered if the church in West Monroe was in the same movement. From what I could find, I believe they are – the names seem interchangeable.

Mary Elizabeth Coleman (R-Hypocrite, MO) is reportedly stepping out with someone else new.

1497373714_MaryElizabethColemanCheatingAgain.thumb.jpg.30c5b6ec91e4dfc05c5a5814f98213c3.jpg

She's the forced birther in the MO legislature who was canoodling with another R legislator in the back of an Uber ride.

Yeah, not that I wouldn't put it past her but I can't figure out where this person is getting this info.

She claims to have sources that have verified it:

The poster works in Jefferson City, the MO capital. Jeff City is a small town so it wouldn't be surprising if one or more people recognized the forced birther as she was out & about with someone.

I will note that Coleman, so far, has not taken any public action over these allegations apart from locking down her Twitter account so that no one can comment.

Oh I lived in Jeff City for a minute and they absolutely would. Legislative folks have have like three little watering holes and everyone talks. I'm just wondering who she got it from.

Different day, same...

The pastor has supposedly handled this "correctly" but I'm not seeing that a letter was sent to parents detailing what this guy was up to, made secular counseling available to youth and children the guy may have had contact with, and presented guidelines for how parents might discuss what's happened with their kids or how to appropriately query kids to see if they were molested or groomed.  So other than firing the guy...probably nada.

Taken from the previous thread. The following people were known to Free Jinger to be at the Insurrection on January 6, 2021.  It was thought that maybe some of the Bowers/Bontragers went into the building, but it is unclear if they did.

1. Curtis Bowers

2. Charlie Bowers

3. Carver Bowers

4. Joshua Bontrager

5. possible minors

6. Lawson Bates

7. Trace Bates

8. Marlin Bontrager

9. at least one minor

10. John Clay Burnett

11. Sarah Burnett

12. Frank Campana

13. Jeremiah Campana

14.  Sam Morton

15. Timothy Noyes (father of Jill R)

16. Peyton Weiss

17. Skylar Weiss

18. Mama Weiss

19. Nancy Campbell of Above Rubies ministries

20. Colin Campbell of Above Rubies ministries

21. Jason Storms

*******************************

22. Abby Johnson

23. Greg Locke

24. Ken Peters

All of these people posted evidence on their social media. FJ may not have the screen shots, but their own social media at the time said they were there. It's unclear if any of them entered the buildings. I also saw the name Matt Trewhella, but I'm not sure he was there.

I'm getting more and more curious about this behavior.  Is it some type of compulsion?  Bipolar?   She's been caught once and not making much effort to conceal her activities on Round 2.  It's just...odd.

I don't think it's a compulsion or bipolar. She's fundie. Normal societal/ marital rules don't apply to her.

I think that Coleman, like many caught fundies, will deny deny deny deny and if it's proved will cry Satan targeted and attacked her.  She's so so so so sorry and repented to God. Now she's forgiven and washed clean and pure as the drive snow.

There will be the obligatory press conference with her hubby standing beside her. She will shed tears about Satan's attacks on her. Because she's a woman of faith. But God forgave her.

We should all just forget it. Bygones.

Mary Elizabeth Coleman's first canoodle buddy is said to be Missouri Speaker of the House Elijah Haas.   Prominent, powerful, high profile position in Missouri politics.  He does not show up on a google search, no matter how specific the query.  No SM, no photos, no links to articles.  Likely a reputation management consultant was hired the day of or day after @annischulte's tweet and got to work Swiffering him off the interwebs STAT.

The first returns from my google query are links to @annieschulte's tweets and reddit posts and sources that name Elijah Haas as MEC's canoodle dude.

Also, this forced birther twunt employs two nannies.  A family photo shows six kids, none of whom are babies or toddlers.  The youngest looks to be seven or eight.

Typo -- his name is Elijah Haahr* and heʻs around online.

105653015_CanoodlerOne.thumb.jpg.c746f222e02c12ccbc98072283fb18ad.jpgIIRC, at the time of the first report -- July-August 2022 -- he was by then no longer MO House Speaker and also possibly out of politics. He was also separated or divorced from his wife. It is probably noteworthy that neither he nor Senator Coleman has ever said ANYTHING about these allegations. Nothing.

All this. We know that if she or a relative needed an abortion, they'd get one, stat.

Jeff City is kind of isolated from the rest of the state and the statehouse is a weird bubble. A LOT of legislators spend their time there fooling around with the assumption that it won't get back to their spouse or the press. An astonishing number of state pols have been involved in cheating scandals or worse, but Mary Elizabeth is the first female legislator I can recall getting caught.

It is. It is also a small town and those who work in the statehouse are an even smaller group.

I think I've seen stats somewhere that there's more political corruption in states where the capital isn't a major city because there are fewer eyes on elected officials. Definitely holds true there.

An OB/GYN named Rachel K. Oliver has been suspended from her practice. She went on a rant about her patients  at a bar calling them fat and f**king stupid. She also appears to have said something negative about many of her patients being Hispanic.

She is a white woman, who spent part of her childhood in Mexico as her parents are missionaries. I know missionaries seem to be well-respected on FJ, but a lot of people are distrustful of the whole missionaries in comments about her. I'm seeing folk suggesting her parents passed on a white savior complex to her.

Here is a link to an article about her and the incident.

It’s quite possible I’ve been watching too much scandal and designated survivor, but I think there is so much corruption and infidelity in politics that it is seen as almost normal.  Plus we have seen over the years the men and women voted into government positions and morals isn’t really a requirement.  The only way the fundies would care that she had an affair is if the word Democrat described her, but since it doesn’t not a big deal and I think most politicians know that.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
