It almost certainly has to do with sex.

When it comes to the rest of us, the Church Militant needs to control our sex lives. When it comes to themselves, itʻs all about privacy.

Yeah he has been public about his active and extensive sex life prior to his…conversion? Radicalization? (I’m not sure the right word.)

Former pastor charged with sexual battery after investigation reveals 3 years of abuse

This started when she was 15, and I'll assume he was counting the days until she turned 18. Must have been terrifying for her and I'm so sad for those three lost years, when she should have been a carefree teen, not dealing with a sexual predator.

"TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — A former pastor was arrested for sexual battery in Oklahoma.

Tulsa police arrested Matthew Martinez on Oct. 2 after an investigation revealed three years of inappropriate behavior with a young girl starting when she was 15 years old.

The victim reported in May 2023 that Martinez sexually abused her, kissed and groped her while threatening her to remain silent.

Detectives said Martinez started messaging the victim as a tutor in the Fall of 2020 before the messages escalated and eventually became physical.

Investigators added the touching started with the victim's hands and feet and escalated to putting his hand up her skirt numerous times and touching her chest.

The victim reported Martinez would also make her touch him.

Last month, police said they recovered thousands of text messages between Martinez and the victim that included Martinez sending "sexual hypotheticals" and talking about kissing her.

A warrant was issued for Martinez on Sept. 28 and he was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual battery."

Such a terrible account and also COMPLETELY typical.

And, once again, no drag queens were involved in this crime.

And speaking of typical, hereʻs the latest from Flori-DUH, where the husband of Moms for Liberty co-founder, Bridget Ziegler, has been accused of sexual assault.

Bonus point -- the complainant alleges that she was in a consensual three-way with the Zieglers:

Quote

Christian Ziegler, Florida’s GOP chairman and husband of Sarasota County School Board member and Moms of Liberty co-founder Bridget Ziegler, is under criminal investigation after a woman filed a complaint with the Sarasota Police Department alleging the longtime Republican official had raped her, according to a heavily redacted police report obtained by the Florida Trident.

The complaint was filed on October 4 and the alleged sexual battery occurred inside the woman’s home in Sarasota, according to the report. Among the few words that went unredacted in the report are the words “rape” and “sexual battery.”

The woman, according to sources close to the investigation, alleged that she and both Zieglers had been involved in a longstanding consensual three-way sexual relationship prior to the incident. The incident under investigation by Sarasota police occurred when Christian Ziegler and the woman were alone at the woman’s house, without Bridget Ziegler present, the sources conveyed. ...Christian Ziegler is also alleged to have secretly videotaped the sexual encounters between the couple and the woman, sources said.

And STILL no drag queens are involved!

Drag queens are the current satanic ritualistic abusers.

Damn, BozLaw just torched a  predator on Twitter, by name, and identified the church where he is currently a pastor.

Thread continues: ...Despite the fact that this offender has admitted under oath to victimizing our client, he is currently pastoring Bible Christian Church in Le Grande, CA. He tells us that his congregation is aware of the abuse and has “forgiven” him...Church website: https://bcclegrand.com

Wonder what the occasion was where he was forced to testify under oath?

Another SBC pastor arrested, this time in VA. As a Spanish-language pastor at Thomas Road Baptist Church, he stalked a woman he had "counseled" for years and broke into & entered her home at least twice:

Quote

She met Guardia through his position as the Spanish pastor at Thomas Road Baptist Church. He claimed to be helping her through the divorce from her husband. Yet, for over six years, she was suspicious that he might be stalking her. She finally caught him in the act after setting up Ring video around her house. When she was out of town, he entered a couple of times.

No drag queens are known or thought to be involved.

For some reason, the video posted of the moment he realizes he is caught on film in her kitchen gives me great joy.  🤣  I’ve considered installing a Ring system just to see how much activity goes on around the perimeter of our house.  Our neighbor has a camera trained on our driveway, among other places, and calls us occasionally to look out our windows to see what’s going on.  Glad this dirtbag was caught.  How unnerving.

In completely unsurprising news, there were witnesses to the years of sexual abuse & predation committed by Paul Pressler, SBC All Star. IOW, many people knew about him and did nothing:

Quote

Baker Botts identified three new witnesses who would have testified against Pressler, in addition to others who have come forward with their own stories of being abused by the judge, the article said.

One witness would have been an unnamed assistant to Pressler “who had had enough and told the Pressler family about the sexual abuse he witnessed,” Baker Botts reported. “He also advised the family to not allow Pressler to have any assistants who were young white males.”

Another would have been state prosecutor Brooks Schott, who is a former associate at the law firm where Pressler and Woodfill were partners, “after he was propositioned by Pressler to participate in ‘naked hot tubbing’ in a private ranch.”

A third witness who would have testified is District Judge Jaclanel McFarland, who currently presides in the court where Pressler once presided. Baker Botts said McFarland — also a Baptist — “was prepared to state it was common knowledge Pressler acted inappropriately with young men.”

Also not a surprise - no drag queens were involved.

The news should include "no drag queens are known or suspected to be involved" every time one if these people are accused of sexual abuses.

On the one hand, yes, I agree, to show people how ridiculous it is to fear “drag queens” when actually the population group of “pastors” seems to be far more prone to committing crimes. On the other hand, That would probably result in LOTS of hits on a google search of “drag queens arrested”, so maybe not advisable.

And guess who else thought Paul Pressler was a great guy even though he apparently knew about the allegations of sexual predation and misconduct?

None other than Howard Phillips, the father of Doug Phillips Who Is A Tool:

Christa Brown has shared a link to a YT video on the "State of the SBC," featuring Denny Burke & Al Mohler.

Lots of squirming when Burke asks Mohler about Pressler, but also lots of side-stepping.

Complete bullshit from Mohler. Paul always had an entourage of young men around him at the Council for National Policy and I could have ended up in it.  He certainly took an interest in me.  When I first heard about the abuse a couple of years ago, it completely made sense.  Either Mohler was blind in his hero worship or chose to look the other way.

It’s funny to me that they think Russia is better because a bunch of gay flags aren’t being flown.

They are truly stupid people. For the sake of their children, I hope that things either go better in Russia or that they are able to get the hell out.

Meanwhile, here's yet another news story on fundie sexcapades where no drag queens were involved. In this case, it's the uber-Catholic Michael Voris, formerly of Church Militant:

Quote

The head of far-right website Church Militant, Voris often claimed the Catholic church was secretly run by an “international gay-crime syndicate.”...Interviews with staff and documents viewed by The Washington Post, though, reveal that employees had complained that Voris had sent shirtless workout photos of himself to Church Militant staff and associates. Voris’s trouble began April, when strange images appeared on Church Militant’s cloud-storage account, according to several staff members: shirtless selfies of Voris, some of them cut off just above his pelvis, along with a screenshot of a text-message exchange screenshot from someone expressing that they found the images sexually arousing.

Ok folks. I've got a good one for ya. Dude actually put us on the map for a change. Pastor Bobby Leonard of Monroe, NC is the founder of Bible Baptist Tabernacle. This is a local findie Baptist church/school. Alot of skirts only women attend this church. Well to my surprise his type of crazy has gone worldwide. A video surfaced of him saying women are at fault for getting raped if they are wearing shorts.

"If you dress like that and you get raped and I'm on the jury, he's going to go free because you know, a man is a man. A man is a man." Those were his exact words. If this has already been discussed, I apologize.  I'm just glad this way of thinking was exposed.

Well, if that's really what a man is, maybe we need to get rid of all the men. /s

Seriously, these "men can't help it" arguments just make it sound like we need to eliminate men. As the New York Times opinion piece titled, Men, Who Needs Them? says:

Quote

If a woman wants to have a baby without a man, she just needs to secure sperm (fresh or frozen) from a donor (living or dead). The only technology the self-impregnating woman needs is a straw or turkey baster, and the basic technique hasn’t changed much since Talmudic scholars debated the religious implications of insemination without sex in the fifth century. If all the men on earth died tonight, the species could continue on frozen sperm. If the women disappear, it’s extinction.

(my bolding)

So, why do we need to keep around human beings who are unable to prevent themselves from raping someone just because that person is wearing shorts?

(Just to be 100% clear, I don't actually agree that men lack self control. I'm just stretching his "point" to a logical conclusion.)

A good, long-form article on the rise & fall of Paul Pressler during his decades with the SBC:

Quote

Pressler’s rise in the SBC began with a 1967 meeting at the Café du Monde in New Orleans. On the recommendation of a mutual friend, Pressler and his wife Nancy had coffee and beignets there with then-seminarians Paige and Dorothy Patterson. That started a relationship which helped generate a strategy to change the SBC.

The plan was relatively simple. Conservative leaders would rally Southern Baptists to elect a Convention president with theologically conservative convictions, especially regarding the inerrancy of Scripture. That president would appoint fellow conservatives to the SBC Committee on Committees. That would set in motion a chain of events which, over several years, would eventuate in conservative seminary professors, international missionaries, North American missionaries and Bible study literature....

Pressler was even considered in 1989 for a position in the administration of President George H.W. Bush – director of the Office of Governmental Ethics.

“Judge Paul Pressler is a man whom I have known and admired for many years,” Bush said in an Oct. 12, 1989, news release. “His integrity, outstanding qualifications and exhibition of the highest ethical standards prompted me to again urge him today to accept the nomination as director of the Office of Government Ethics.” Baptist Press reported on Pressler’s selection for the job as well as his eventual withdrawal.

Pressler maintains he declined the nomination amid opposition from his opponents. The Washington Post reported that Pressler failed to clear an FBI vetting. “A senior official said, ‘Information was uncovered that we felt was disqualifying,’” the Post reported Sept. 22, 1989. “Pressler could not be reached for comment, and White House officials offered conflicting accounts of whether or not he has withdrawn from consideration.” [Emphasis added]
