When fundies self diagnose / Narcissism thy name is Lori

Our last conversation about food (this weekend):

Me: Yeah, I'll just freeze this lasagna and we can eat it later this week.

Boyfriend: What are we having for dinner tonight?

Me: ...

Boyfriend: ...we could just cook the lasagna.

Me: Well...

Me: Yeah, okay. That makes sense.

I was a bit wedded to the idea of cooking it mid-week because that would mean I was a responsible meal-planner, but I could recognize that what he said made more sense. The last two lines could have easily been this instead:

Me: Well...

Me: I'd rather save it for a hectic weekday. How about we go to [Mexican fast food joint] next door and split a burrito tonight?

Also, didn't she do a bunch of previous posts saying that marriage should make us holy, not happy? Why the sudden reversal? Or better yet - why does it need to be one or the other instead of both?

Probably because she watched Submissive Wives and saw Tara was getting more praise than she was, and Tara seemed happy, soo logically, now Lori must seem happy to get her 15 minutes too.

I'm not a California attorney, but yeah - Ken would be looking at splitting the assets and paying alimony.

Let's have a show of hands among those of us in a committed relationship. How often do you fight over food - specifically, what your spouse eats? I can't be the only one who thinks that this should be a non-issue.

This is how our conversations go:

Mr. Cat: What's for dinner?

Polecat: I was planning on enchiladas -- some with chicken, some with a mixture of tvp and ground chuck. Izzat okay?

Mr. Cat: Yup.

Mr. Cat: What's for breakfast?

Polecat: Biscuits and gravy.

Mr. Cat: God, I love you.

Polecat: I'm swamped with work. Leftovers for dinner tonight?

Mr. Cat: Okay but only if I get ice cream for dessert.

Polecat: Cool.

(Mr. Cat does not cook.)

We do not fight over food. I cook food. He eats food. It works out well for us.
