I'd dare say her blog will be back online in a matter of days or weeks. Isn't the whole main point of the Invisalign Mom Advisory Board for mothers to blog about their teenagers Invisalign exerience as a big marketing tool? If so, you'd figure the price to pay for complimentary Invisalign treatment would be keep a blog active, and not some new one, but one with a number of followers. I'm curious if Invisalign has contacted her.

I'm also curious how her first 'back to blog' post will go, considering the number of rocks thrown at her glass house.

Blog is back up now, but no new post. I'm sure they are in damage control mode, and probably working on the message. The Fahey sisters have posted to Alecia's fb. Theirs is another horrific story. It's the same pattern of abuse, but to a totally different *degree. They are trying to change the laws in NY to give all kids the right to a birth certificate.

The thing is, Papa Pilgrim, Richard Fahey, Fred Phelps... can be seen for what they are - positively criminal. The abuse is of a magnitude that is obvious to everyone. The Pearls can be seen by most for what they are. The Penningtons (and Kendal, PP, Lori...) were/are "slicker" (can't think of the right word here) and I think it will make it much harder for the kids to recognize their treatment for what it is.

I really don't understand -- and I apologize if this has already been addressed and I missed it -- how was the family claiming the kids for taxes if they didn't get SSNs for any of them? When we file taxes, we HAVE to list our kids, their DoBs and their SSNs in order to claim them as dependents. I find it really hard to believe anyone with nine children wouldn't try to claim at least some of those kids.

Which means that their parents may well have the documents and are simply being shady/assholey about it and lying.

If we had not filed our tax returns in April we could not have hidden from the tax folk at all.

They are all seeing.

They funnel all of their income through their non-profit. The Anchor Group - A Religious Organization. It is a 501 (d). They are completely tax exempt. Your donation is not tax deductible. :roll:

A news article said they haven't filed taxes since 1996. But I am absolutely positive that they are withholding at least some documents. Grace write several fb posts insisting that she doesn't have a birth certificate - even though she was born in a hospital. She's adamant about it. I strongly believe her parents " helped" her search the records, and then she just lied to her. It's really sad.

We have family in Paris. I remember once when they were out here for a visit they had all these plans to do sightseeing. They were going to drive to New Orleans, New York City, Washington DC. And other places. They were not planning to be here more than 10 days.They did not account for the size of the U.S. It is about 3,000 miles from coast to coast. It's easy for people to get lost and go off the grid.

Parents failing their kids - that's what makes me the. most. angry. Steve and Teri Maxwell, the Botkins, the Penningtons, the Reins...sick and crazy, the lot of them.

No father or mother in his or her right mind wants sons and daughters in their 20s, 30s and 40s still hanging out at home with no marketable job skills, inadequate educations, no families of their own, no futures beyond homebound indentured servitude because Bible.

It is the job of every parent to help their children achieve successful, productive, independent lives of their own.
