"Highest Bidder"

Quote

Robert F Kennedy Jr has announced that his running mate for his Independent presidential campaign is Nicole Shanahan. Who?

If you Google her, the first thing that came up before today is that she’s someone’s ex-wife. I’m not trying to be sexist, but who she was married to was her greatest accomplishment.

She was married to Sergey Brin, a co-founder of Google. Maybe that explains how she’s listed on the search engine. The Wall Street Journal published that her divorce was caused by her having an affair with Elon Musk, which she and Musk have both denied.

Shanahan is the founder and president of Bia-Echo Foundation, which is focused on “reproductive longevity & equality, criminal justice reform, and a healthy and livable planet,” according to the organization’s website. She says the group is also focused on finding a cure for autism.

She’s also a vaccine “skeptic” like RFK Jr. I doubt her foundation can find a cure for autism when she’s blaming vaccines for them. She also suggests that receiving vaccinations for COVID-19 has contributed to her health problems.

So what are her qualifications? She’s young (38) and has money. She gave $4 million to a Super PAC that ran a pro-RFK Jr commercial during the Super Bowl. She married rich, then she divorced rich, and now her money has her on a presidential ticket.

She checks a lot of boxes for a presidential ticket. She’s female, young, smart, pretty, Asian-American, and has money. What are her qualifications in regard to politics and legislation? None. But the president (sic) before our current one didn’t have any of that either. In fact, she’s only qualified for the presidency by three years. If she didn’t have money, she would not be on the ticket.

Selling the spot to the highest bidder has to drive the Grifter in Chief nuts because he didn’t think about it. He was too busy grifting with sneakers and Bibles to think about his campaign. And Trump has been doing it all wrong. He’s been trying to make a selection for his veep spot based on looks, rating, and racism. Who’s the biggest sycophant? Who can spread the election lie while being passable to the public in the general election? It never occurred to him that he could sell the spot to the highest bidder.

Maybe Trump could sell the spot to Elon Musk. Sure, he’s not qualified because he wasn’t born in this country, but that didn’t stop Ted Cruz. It didn’t stop John McCain. And, despite the Constitution saying an insurrectionist can’t hold any government office, that didn’t stop the Supreme Court from banning Trump from ballots. I have zero doubts that Trump can put Elon Musk on his ticket and get away with it. He gets away with everything.

But, what RFK Jr’s pick proves, along with Donald Trump and whoever he chooses, is that we have to make sure President Biden wins reelection. We can’t allow conspiracy theorists to win the White House…again.

Nicole Shanahan has joined a campaign that can’t win the election and at best, can only play spoiler.

"Spacey Conspiracy Theories"

Quote

My first cartoon on the Baltimore bridge was published at GoComics yesterday and the trolls came out to scream at me for connecting it to Republicans who voted against the Infrastructure bill. No, Republicans didn’t know the bridge down but they don’t support building them either. Meanwhile, the same goons have been quiet or are even helping Republicans spread conspiracy theories about why the cargo ship crashed into the bridge. Do you wanna hear some? Yes, you do.

Andrew Tate, a conspiracy theorist awaiting trial in Romania claimed on TwitterX it was a cyber attack. His tweet has been seen over 18 million times. Alex Jones, who spread conspiracy theories about Sandy Hook and gay frogs, posted, “Looks deliberate to me. A cyber-attack is probable. WW3 has already started.”

Others say the ship’s captain fell ill from receiving a vaccination for COVID-19. Some say the Obamas did it because the bridge was named after slave-owning Francis Scott Key, or they had it destroyed because they hate the Star Spangled Banner. Some say Israel did it.

Some have blamed wokeness and DEI (diversity, equality, and inclusiveness) for the accident. Some goons blame open borders and “illegal” immigrants even though the only people who died from the accident were immigrants.

The mayor of Baltimore, Brandon Scott, asked people to have a “little bit of decency and respect” when it comes to online discourse about the fatal bridge collapse. Scott said, “Don’t spread misinformation. Don’t play bridge engineer online or in the media. Remember that these are people’s family members who have lost their lives simply trying to make transit better for the rest of us.” Asking Republicans and MAGAts to have a little bit of decent and respect makes you wonder if the mayor has ever met a Republican.

Speaking of decency, Elijah Schaffer, a right-wing troglodyte for the Gateway Pundi, tweeted a racist meme at the mayor.

Hung Cao, a Republican challenging Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, apparently didn’t learn how anchors work while he was in the Navy, arguing that they should have been dropped to stop the ship. They were dropped. And then he blamed Pete Buttigieg for focusing more on climate change and racial equality than the infrastructure.

Republican Senator Rick Scott connected it to “open borders.” A better conspiracy theory is that the captain of the ship was blinded by the moon shining off of Rick Scott’s bald racist head.

Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union, blamed it on an “unqualified drug-addled” workforce hamstrung by coronavirus lockdowns. Usually, a person would have to be high to say something that stupid.

Marjorie Taylor Greene speculated that it’s the cause of terrorists but fortunately, she hasn’t blamed Jewish space lasers or anyone at Comet Ping Pong Pizza…yet.
