I found Judge Middlebrooks' full opinion here, which is not behind a paywall (and yes, I am chuckling at the irony that he is a Bill Clinton appointee dismissing a case against, among other defendants, Hillary Clinton)

Another irony is that Trump argued that a Clinton-appointed judge from 25 years ago would be biased, but not the Trump-appointed judge from 2 years ago.

I read that the judge seems to be implying that sanctions against the lawyers, including Alina Habba, would be warranted. I hope that they are imminent.

It's in his last section titled "Conclusion" under (7) "I reserve jurisdiction to adjudicate issues pertaining to sanctions."  Sanctions isn't always limited to attorneys.  Sanctions are usually imposed on attorneys because attorneys have ethical obligations and are presumed to know better than to file frivolous lawsuits but a court can sanction a party/parties in a suit if the court finds that party/parties essentially "knew/knows better".  Judge Middlebrooks' ruling does go after the attorneys (especially when he discusses the attempts to mislead by not providing the full information - a really, really stupid thing for any lawyer to do because not only will opposing counsel be sure to look up that information and then in the response point out the game-playing but any judge will ALSO look up the information) but he is also pretty pointedly scathing about Trump himself.  He makes pretty clear that Trump's entire suit is basically a pathetic burn book to try to get back at people in a childish, vindictive way with no legal merit at all and is therefore a giant waste of judicial time and resources.

I do hope that he and/or opposing counsel report all of Trump's attorneys to any Bar where they are licensed.  It's time to start holding all these jackasses accountable for what they are trying to do to the justice system.  Based on Judge Middlebrooks' opinion, it appears that whole "lawsuit" was pretty much some attorneys "prettying up" Trump's usual nonsensical babbling with legalese mixed with some citations and references- full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Can they declare him a vexatious litigant? Because that would be kind of awesome.

Excellent question! Judge Middlebrooks dismissed with prejudice regarding pretty much everyone (and I did enjoy his comments that blocked any chance to supplement or amend by pretty much saying leaving open that door would just invite nonsense) but he left a teeny tiny chance for a suit against a very narrow list of defendants. It’s just my opinion based on somewhat following some SLAPP actions and vexatious litigant cases that caught my eye when SLAPP statutes started to become enacted but in my humble opinion dismissing without prejudice regarding a few of the defendants probably means Trump can’t yet be declared a vexatious litigant because in theory he still has potential actions against those limited defendants. Again, just my opinion that is only based on an interest in SLAPP laws and the evolving ways different jurisdictions are handling those cases. I would be very happy to be proven wrong and see Trump declared a vexatious litigant. It would be very funny to see him and his attorney have to make the proper showing every time he wants to sue to convince a judge his suit has merit and do so with each named defendant. Actually, not just funny but rightful and justified. As has been said so often in the media (even long before he ever ran for POTUS) and here, Trump gamed the judicial system and used his ability to outspend people who opposed him or tried to get him to pay what he owed for decades. Let Lady Justice smack him hard with her scales.

What the hell?  This blithering idiot thinks Trump took nuclear secrets regarding another country to "use against the FBI" who were "spying on him"??  Do they honestly believe this shit or are they just so indebted and/or committed that they can't do anything but invent more lies?

I don't know what he thinks the Clintons did to him but he must blame them for something to turn so completely and for so long.

I know it is junk news but I don’t like seeing ‘indictment unlikely’ when it comes to Trump.

Still illegal. No one- not even POTUS- can just steal documents. Nixon’s downfall didn’t even involve documents of national security (or, as is being reported, international security) and SCOTUS said his actions were illegal. Trump’s theft involves documents of much higher significance. I would like this guy to explain the correlation between nuclear secrets of other countries and the FBI. Go ahead, Jethro, we’ll wait.

There is a lot of speculation on social media as to why Trump, looking rather disheveled in this pic (embiggen to see), flew / was flown to DC today.

Many believe it’s because he’s been indicted or arrested or something. Someone speculates he’s headed to Walter Reed for some undisclosed medical issue (but why go there and not a hospital near where he’s staying?). And others are saying he went to his golf course in Loudon because Bedminster is being raided.

I keep misreading that as "London" and thinking he's going to crash the funeral.

Ugh. Go away! I thought we got rid of you January 29, 2021.
Isn’t there some rock you call under on that scorpion infested island with Rudy and Tuckems?

ETA: Is it normal for an ex president to be driven around in government vehicles? He looks to be at Andrews AFB in Maryland. There is a Prince George’s Sherif car and the big SUVs have government tags.

One thing I do wonder is, if TFG really has foreign masters (which he has, duh!), whether he might or should be afraid for his life?

Obviously I’m not at all versed in the world of international criminal intrigues, but if I were the ruler of, say, a fictional country we’ll call North Saudi-Russia, and an apricot-coloured American official had been my bitch asset, and that same mango fuckmuppet were now under investigation and potentially leaving ketchup stain trails that could lead back to me, I might feel safer if they were pushing up the grassroots of one of their golf courses. (But maybe I’m just not brazen enough to be the ruler of North Saudi-Russia - maybe if I were the type to ride half-naked on a bear or chop up journalists, I wouldn’t care what the general public thinks…)

Of course even if there were a genuine threat, there’s no saying whether the orange one would take it seriously. Sure, he does love to feel persecuted, but then he also loves to think the other dictators are his BFFs.

I’m just saying, maybe he ought to be a wee bit careful around suspicious mugs of tea or near upper-story windows …

If it weren't for his secret security detail, he would be living in abject fear for his life right now...

If he had sense, he'd be afraid.  I'm just not sure he is smart enough to understand the situation.  Well, maybe what I mean to say is that he's so mentally and emotionally messed up that he doesn't see the real world as it is.

I was just reading that Maggie Haberman has another book coming out.  (I'll read excerpts online but I'm not buying books from these people who should have informed us earlier about what they saw.)  She said that Donald told people he just wasn't leaving the White House.  I suppose he was going to blockade himself in and hope that his fans would save him from being shoved out the door.  Who says things like that?

And, yes, Putin would arrange for an accident.  The only thing saving Donny now is that Putin has created quite a mess for himself and is desperately trying to make sure no one shoves him out a window.  But if Putin ever gets his house in order and his oligarchs in line, he'll be making sure that loose-lips Donny isn't around to tell everything.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but trump finally being held accountable would be a great start to the week. Most likely it is probably something not that important, though.

I hear you on the „who says things like that??“ but that the same time, I have to say, when I read about that piece of that new book, it didn’t feel like a big revelation  because a) I felt like I’d already heard him quoted saying it in all but those words and b) even if I hadn’t, his actions in late 2020/early 2021 did pretty much say that.

Of course, I’m so jaded by now and have  got rid of any „he can’t go any lower“ thinking where TFG is regarded, so pretty much the only thing that would surprise me these days if he had been reliably documented doing something halfway decent.

Man-child was telling people he had been thinking of squatting in the White House and refusing to leave on January 21 after Biden was sworn in.

Quote

A new book by New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman reportedly reveals former President Trump told aides following the 2020 presidential election that he would remain in the White House after President Biden’s inauguration.

Haberman wrote that Trump seemed to recognize he had lost to Biden immediately following the election, but his mood later changed, according to CNN.

“I’m just not going to leave,” Haberman writes Trump told one aide, the network reported.

“We’re never leaving. How can you leave when you won an election?” Trump reportedly told another.

Yeah, I'm sure that would have worked out well Donald Dumbfuck.  I guess someone convinced him that it would be quite embarrassing to be escorted off the property after Biden ordered him evicted, and that it would look a bit better if he just hopped on a plane and left for his illegal document storage facility in Florida.

They probably drew a series of pictures, or maybe some aides acted it out with puppets and props, until the message sank in.

After all, that was around the same time as when „yesterday was such a hard word,“ right?

Part of me is disappointed he left of his own accord. I would have paid good money to have seen him forcibly evicted from the White House.

Yes, former presidents are often driven around in government vehicles. And it would make sense for him to land at Andrews. Can you imagine the security nightmare if he landed at a commercial airport?

Many years ago, I read that Florence Harding, wife of Warren G. Harding, refused to leave the White House after his death. The Coolidges had to stay in Blair House across the street for a week or so until she left. I don't know if it's true, but it wouldn't surprise me.
