(CW: CSA) Josh & Anna 47: Serial SM Commenter Anna Silent on Family Posts Lately. I Wonder Why?

The "bodyguard" seems like an idiot.

Due to the extent of Josh's depravity, I would be astounded if there were not other people in that circle impacted by whatever fucked him up so badly.  I mean he is way beyond a rotten apple in a basket of good apples.  He is more like a nuclear bomb.  That doesn't happen in a vacuum.

Taking an injured child to a hospital in a different state to hide them from CPS makes zero sense. Is he saying they already had an active CPS case in Arkansas, that was somehow hidden ? Because unless that’s true, any hospital will have roughly the same reporting requirements. An Oklahoma hospital would just call CPS in the county they lived in if they had serious suspicions and make a report to be investigated where they live. There’s certainly a lot less likelihood of follow-through - but that would be a far from fool-proof plan. Is he saying they gave fake names? What seems more likely, if it’s true they went out of state instead of to a local dr for a kid injury - is maybe they happen to know a good orthopedist who can set a broken arm from an accidental injury and since they have planes- why not that instead of a wait at an ER. Or something similar - kid needs medical attention for x,y or z, they know a good dr in that field, they have means to transport quickly, damn they even have paramedics - why not, if its not something that requires absolute emergency treatment?

If he was such damming information why don’t he do the responsible thing and make a report to CPS rather than post on REDDIT.

He says he did report a few times.

I mean, they claim that there is more than one pedophile in the family, complain about Bobby/Bobye/Bobbie Holt not coming forward sooner - yet do nothing about it.

I don't believe a word they say.

I appreciate you pointing this out as I had no idea it was considered a pejorative.  It was actually my first generation Irish grandfather who used the expression and there was no negative connotation to it.  Almost everyone on that side had really big families and wasn't a source of shame at all, but I can see how it could be an insult in other contexts.

Of Irish heritage here as well, and I heard that term used by relatives occasionally when I was growing up - and not in a derogatory way.  It was mostly used by older relatives, and it's not a term that comes easily to my mind when I think about siblings born less than a year apart.  But now I won't use it in the future, as I don't want to accidentally offend.

He states he was hired through an agency following the initial In-Touch scandal in 2015, and worked for a few months while they were trying to keep Josh out of the public eye and paparazzi away. I’m taking his specific statements with a big shaker of salt, but he probably got some decent general impressions of how the family interacted during that crisis. I’m not surprised they’d have security during that time.

That makes more sense.

I was secretly hoping maybe Josh had security the last couple months because he was afraid of Derick and Austin showing up in the night.

His icky photo on vine is under the spoiler. Vine has him listed his charge details as "courtesy/contract hold", which is not surprising, the feds use local jails to hold prisoners before sentencing and transport. I fell behind in the threads (2nd interview last week and job offer, salary negations, etc.) so I am glad to see he is in custody - which I am sure was said at some point in the 2 threads that were closed by the time I logged back into FJ this past weekend.

I remember seeing pictures of Josh, Anna, maybe some kids, a body guard and a helper getting out of a plane after Ashley Madison exposure. I think it was that one anyway.  The reason I remember is that as usual Josh was ignoring Anna, not helping her out of the plane, with the kids or luggage. Wasn't the helper Caleb Williams? So much happens with J & A it's hard to remember it all. Obviously it was the photo or film clip thstbmade an impression on me. Anyone else remember this or able to find the photos?

He never said what he reported or to whom.

I'm no Duggar apologist but accusations like can make people side eye every male Duggar and those who aren't predators (hopefully all of them) don't deserve that just because Josh is a monster.

Don't get me wrong, if people know something about abuse report it and shout it out loud, but casting aspersions with literally no information against a whole group of people is vile.

I'd love to know their verification process, just to get a sense of how reliable the source is

I don’t have much trust in it. There was an AMA once, from a ‘verified’ ex-fundie, which had holes all through it. No harm done since it was neither here nor there in terms of the person’s importance (likely done for fun or attention), and I think it was at FundieSnark rather than DuggarsSnark so their verification process could be more rigorous.

I hope this guy is the new Alice. I remember when Alice’s posts first happened and there were a lot of people who thought what she said definitely  couldn’t be true, but it turns out she was 100% right about absolutely everything.

Edited to add: this is the AMA I was thinking of. It was at DuggarsSnark.

The bodyguard seems real suspicious. I would like to know exactly how he was verified.

The thing that did it for me is the porn-while-driving comment. As Buffy pointed out - how would you be able to see what the person in the car in front of you is looking at on their phone, even if it's attached to something on their dashboard - let alone being able to confidently identify it as porn (vs. any other type of video)

There is nothing he said that couldn't be true, it's that he's not saying much of anything.  Certainly not elaborating on anything he tweeted to get this attention.

Said he's team Anna can fuck herself and she's no victim, not meek.  Ignores every question asking him to elaborate and he ignores them.

That JB is in charge and that 'it's possible' or 'probably' that there are more skeletons lurking isn't exactly breaking news.

Besides, he stated on twitter Josh wasn't the only pedophile in the family and he didn't think the kids were safe.  How do you reconcile that with it being possible there are more skeletons.  If it's true then for sure there are.

I went in with an open mind but my bullshit meter pinged hard the whole time.

While Reddit mods can differ in quality from sub to sub, I do think that the Fundie Snark Uncensored and Duggar Snark mods do very, very well in moderating the communities. However, mods aren't perfect, and they have allowed several self-proclaimed survivors/expert do AMAs and give so-called expert insight that I definitely side-eye. This guy is one, also the IBLP "survivor" who was clearly either RR or (even scarier) a RR-in-training, trying out different stories and seeing what sticks. People questioning details were downvoted and generally berated for daring to question this brave survivor, who eventually deleted their account and will no doubt pop up again in the future. They also allowed a poster who claimed they were in law school to give "legal analysis" that wasn't very accurate, and made strange claims and statements that made me think they never set foot in a law school, much less cracked open a law review or read case law. It truly seemed like someone watched multiple episodes of Law and Order: SVU and decided that made them an expert. They eventually started to parrot Emily Baker's analysis, and her analysis is pretty solid, so it gave them perceived authority, but the whole time I was remembering the previous details from that poster that made no sense.* So I have no idea what - if any - sort of verification or vetting exist.

*Yes, I understand the irony of me, sitting here behind a screen, claiming that this other person sitting behind a screen isn't really a law student or any sort of legal expert. What the heck do I know, right?

Exactly. It is a really shitty thing to do. Either name names or stay quiet about it while working with the proper authorities.

To me the most suspicious is that the thing about Josh in the pool in the party is something someone else said in an AMA not that long ago. What a coincidence both were there. Also the thing about the fan at Jills house was something already known. A lot of details he is giving are not really new are they.

I haven’t read it yet, but this is good to know. It sounds like it’s not worth the time. What a disappointing let down.

Not saying the guy is real, but porn in the car IS a real thing and I could def see a desperate person doing it . . . there's already men who take care of themselves while driving, why not add background noise . . .

Pretty sure the bodyguard is actually Amy.    😂😉

If he was close behind him at a stoplight or something, he could probably see what was on the phone. But not well, unless he's breaking out binoculars. I just don't see Josh driving around watching porn on his phone with it stuck to the windshield. It's far too likely someone could see it, when beside him at a stoplight or something. He's known to make at least some paltry efforts at hiding his nastiness.

If the car in front of you had a phone on a window mount could you see what's on the screen while driving?

I doubt it, or at least not with sufficient clarity to say "yep, that's porn".

I ride a bike a lot and I see people using phones while driving all the time, even though it's illegal here. I can tell what they're doing, whether that's watching a video, or using satnav, or a messenger service or facebook or twitter, just because the screens look different, but that's because I'm on a bike and I can get a much closer view as I pass the vehicle. Even if you, from a car some distance behind, could work out that someone was watching a video on their phone, I highly doubt if you could make out that the video was porn.

Pretty sure I would be unable to see much of anything on the dashboard/windshield of the car in front of me.  Kids watching videos on a backseat screen that you see in many SUV/minvans, yes.  And perhaps if I were in the passenger side of a car passing the driver's side. But if I were driving a follow car, I wouldn't be passing the car.

I think you could make it out if it was habitual. Like, it's one thing to roll up to somebody at a stop light and be like "Holy shit is that porn??" but if you had to tail that guy everyday, by the third day you'd probably think, "Holy crap that is actually porn."

It also might be a situation where the app (does PornHub have an app?) looks a certain way. I mean, you can spot that somebody is using Grindr a mile away because no other app on Earth uses such a color scheme.

This didn't strike me as that unusual. I get why people are suspicious but the two AMAs the Reddit has had recently have been well, slightly boring, and it is their slight boringness that strikes me as realistic. I'm trying to think about the weirdest people I've known -- a few murderers, a former member of the SLA, a guy who kidnapped a woman -- and honestly, if you asked me an AMA about them, most of it would be like, "Uh, they were mostly like how people are, except maybe these three weird things." It's pretty realistic that a summary of working for the Duggars is "boring but suffocating, and kind of bad vibes."

If it were at night, he would even have a clearer view.  The lighted video would be easier to see in a dark car.
