(CW: CSA) Josh & Anna 42: Prosecution Rested. After His Conviction Maybe We Can, Too

Predators such as Josh Duggar are generally stimulation seeking, & as such the violence of prison is more of a reward than a deterrent. Violence & conflict in prison gives them something to do other than contemplate why they're there. Either they're the aggressors, which is its own thrill, or they're the victim, in which case it feeds into their persecution complexes. Also the drama of living ones own personal soap opera is a thing.

Personally, I want them bored. Stultified, with nothing to do other than restitution, contemplation, education, or therapy. I'm mean in that specific way.

How much violence can he expect in a unit for child sex offenders?  I'm picturing a bunch of tough guys when it comes to hurting babies, but would wee themselves if adult came at them aggressively.

I don't think violence with other men is going to be much of a reward to him.  He'll find out soon just how sheltered he's always been.

What does Josh think about in court?

Probably the same thing he thinks about in church.

I wonder if seeing the thumbnails from last week in court brought him pleasure in some way.

I still want to know why the MOTY hasn’t shown her face in court? At this point, we might see Josie before seeing either of her parents.

He didn't see them.  Only the jury.  There was a rumor that day 3 I think that they were accidentally visible to Derek and Anna from prosecutions side for a few minutes, but thankfully he couldn't see them.

He might not have seen them, however he could watch the reaction of others and heard the descriptions. I’m sure his smug face didn’t do him any favors

He may try to impress them with how clever he is, though I doubt that would get him anywhere.

As far as violence with other men...I can picture him arm-wrestling, losing badly, then making excuses.

Do prisoners get nicknames?  Wonder what his would be.

I believe he is thinking he will go to jail and finally be free, no JB or Anna and the house full of kids

I'm not sure he'll land somewhere with there is a special unit for sex offenders. From what I've read, they try to be careful with placement, but there may be only limited group segregation.

This attorney talks about the various levels of security at federal prisons. Josh will end up at a medium as he's not a violent criminal but as a sex offender, he won't qualify for low security.  The medium discussion starts about 9:13.

He'll also have no victims and no fast food.  Not trivializing it, that will hit him hard.

He will like being free from Anna and the kids I don’t think he ever wanted.  What he might not understand quite yet is he won’t be the golden boy king of the heap anymore. Quite the contrary as I think he will be unprepared to be the lowest plebeian on the cell block.

I'd guess it's along the lines of: "Is this going the way it's supposed to?  I want a turn.  Should I ask again about a turn?  I was just looking and I didn't make those videos.  Nobody can say I made those videos.  The car lot was really boring.  I don't want to go to jail.  I'm hungry."

Yeah, I think he’s wishing he could be up there defending himself…then they’d see. I’ve been listening to the podcast covering the Theranos case. I wonder if he knows people like Elizabeth Holmes or Kyle Rittenhouse got on the stand and thinks he should be able to. I wonder if going into this case he saw Kyle Rittenhouse on all the talk shows and thought…that will be me in a few weeks.

Which is why I'm surprised Josh was so dumb about everything. Did no one tell him how to wipe a hard drive? Or, you know, to shut the fuck up when the cops came?

No one ever taught Josh to shut the fuck up about anything, sadly.

Of all the nicknames people could go for with Josh, you have to resort to body insults? Gross.

A doughboy refers to infantry in WWI, the grunts in the trenches, literally. These are the lowest ranking soldiers.

I thought this was a reference to him being in the trenches of prison as the lowest in the hierarchy,

I am not understanding how this is a body insult.

JB is too busy with his election to be bothered to come to the trial.  Its always JB first.  This article gives a good insight to positions of each of the candidates.  I hope the voters are reading every bit of info on the trial and really think if this is who they want representing him.

https://www.nwaonline.com/news/2021/dec/06/four-candidates-contest-special-republican/

One of the candidates platforms is prison reform and seeing that prisoners have skills to get a job when they are released........

Re: My cat downloaded the CSAM defense

🐈🐈🐈

Once upon a time, before spam filters were any good, I got a porn site ad from a woman with a rather unusual name which was shared by my good friend’s cat.  This led to a lively exchange between me and my friend in which we hypothesized how her kitty was running a porn site from their computer.

I throw this in for comic relief, but also to add that cats are not terribly interested in accessing websites, but if they were, they would generally not access CSAM. 😉

:face_cat:  My cat said so.

I think the meaning of doughboy you describe is no longer widely known, as WWI was over a long time ago.  I believe whoever suggested that term was referring to Josh's physical appearance, as in pudgy or doughy.
