Thanks for everyone being so great about refraining from speculation, please keep it up.  Also, no posting names of files, sites, etc. of CSAM.

Continued from here...

Is this defense witness in line with what they thought would happen? Does this hold any water? Not questioning his guilt, just questioning how this will be seen by the jury.

I realize these words make a sentence, but it doesnt make sense to me.  Its was downloaded in a "complex" way and then streamed through a media player?  Thats not complex, thats piracy 101

Buzzard you are amazing, I know how busy you are but can you please clone yourself so can do this full time for us?

The only thing not completely correct is what I quoted above.  They did find Tor on his phone, but no CSAM.  There was history of adult material he'd look at on his phone in the middle of the night.

Its all gobbledygook to me-but I know a few people would rather avoid accessing the live trial updates because without warning it can get very graphic and upsetting-so I redact if needed and repost, if no one else is 😊

I'm so sorry!  Going forward we're going to let the threads go to 25-30 pages.  I know it's frustrating so if you're typing up something you don't want to lose I suggest doing it in word or something and C&P when it starts getting near the end of the threads.

Ok, just to summarize where I think we are - please correct me if I'm missing something:

Prosecution:

- Josh was the sole employee at the car lot at the time of the downloads

- Josh was in custody and control of the computer at the time of the downloads

- The videos were accessed multiple times after download

- The PC had a partition and the password was associated with Josh

- The computer could not have been accessed remotely over the time period discussed

- Some files were deleted

-there was no point in seizing the router or other phones because they were unlikely to have evidence on them

- Josh previously molested children close in age to the children in the videos

- Josh was enough of a concern to close family/friends that this grown man needed "accountability" on his WORK computer in addition to his personal devices.

- Josh lied to his wife about his whereabouts and activity during the time in question

- Josh had atleast moderately good tech skillz

Defense:

- Josh's personal devices did not Tor on them.

-Josh didnt leave his porn out on the work computer for other people to see

- Josh couldnt have installed and operated Linux because he cant remember codes

- The expert that they also hired cant remember codes??? (not exactly speaking highly of your expert, eh?)

- You can remote into a computer.  (duh)

- The videos he downloaded were "complicated"

- She would have needed to router to determine the security on the network. (PLEASE - on cross ask her "assuming the most secure network on earth, wouldnt it be obvious? )

General comments - who thinks the flash drive had codes on it?  Nothing like the "Mac" defense - 1) I like Macs, not PCS, 2) If not 1, its people eating BIG Macs who must have done it.

I'm trying to remember ancient FJ history - but didnt Joshly create an invitation to one of the weddings - ON A PC?  Arent most of the early Duggar pics when he was "tech support" also PCs? He always billed himself as the "techie" duggar, not that its such a high bar.

The router doesnt bother me - the actual search was months after the download, no data would have still been there.  My guess is that he realized he was flagged and tried to delete it on the computer.  He may have even swapped the router.   At the end of the day he had means, motive and opportunity.  I look forward to seeing Smugs in a jumpsuit.

Bless you. I have anxiety through the roof but this helps.

To be fair I tend to not remember installation commands either, because you usually only use them once, and as I said before the website for the program usually lists the commands out for you.

Count me in as someone who's confused by the complex way statement. "VLC media player" and "complex" are not two things that go together for me.

Seems to me like she's just trying to make things sound more complicated than they are.

I wasnt swiping at you - just the expert!  What she's saying doesnt make any sense other than trying to make something really common and easy complicated.

I missed that bit.  So he'd go on porn in the same house (possibly the same bed) as his sleeping wife 🤮

All they need is one decent tech on that jury.

- Josh lied to his wife about his whereabouts and activity during the time in question

- Josh had atleast moderately good tech skillz

-Josh had a history of accessing legal porn on his devices despite monitoring

Defense:

- Josh's personal devices HAD Tor on them but not illegal material.

-Josh didnt leave his porn out on the work computer for other people to see

- Josh couldnt have installed and operated Linux because he cant remember codes

- The expert that they also hired cant remember codes??? (not exactly speaking highly of your expert, eh?)

The fact that he had Tor on his other devices means little to me.  People dont just go nuts the first time he found his way into the darkest corners of the dark web.  You stick your toe in first, lurk, then decide to dabble.... Even just FINDING things is difficult, so May was not his first time venturing behind the partition.

The defense has 4 witnesses they planned to call, then it goes back to prosecution for rebuttal.  I would think that it will probably go to jury wednesday morning before lunch and I would love it if before then end of the day they would come back with a verdict.  The defense has done nothing in my opinion to counter the prosecutions timeline of when Josh was at the car lot, texting Anna that he was going to be there later and the timing of downloads and viewing material.  Honestly, it seems most likely a verdict by end of day on Thursday.
