I think she just needs to give up on this whole blogging social media thing. She has no clue how to make a her blog or Instagram worth reading. Just give it up and focus on enjoying your perfect fundie wife life.

It's an interesting comparison to Chelsy, who, while not blogging so much, at least gives pretty detailed posts when she does.

I think that Marlin really drilled into the girls that they need to share their amazing beliefs and the fruits of their perfect godly lives in order to spread Jesus to everyone. Chelsy has really cut down on her blogging. By a lot. But when she does, it’s ok. It’s not mind blowing or anything. But it’s what her small audience of fundies wants to hear. But Allison isn’t good at it. I feel like her time would be better spent doing something else.

You all don't think Chelsy would be dumb enough to take newborn Maddy to family camp do you?

I doubt she wants to make the drive with a three very young kids with one being a premie. Her life has been very stressful and hectic so she probably wants to stay home for some time. But I do think she will have plenty of visitors in her house holding and breathing on the baby.

I pray to the baby cheeses that the medical staff and the NICU repeatedly hammered home to John and Chelsy the covid risks to Madeline and that that encouraged them to get vaccinated and that they encouraged everyone else in their family to do the same. And that they're not taking her to church for that reason (and the reason that she could catch a whole range of other stuff too).

I can - somewhat - understand the fundie attitude to thinking vaccines are bad and God/your immune system will handle it. But to think your tiny baby with undeveloped lungs will somehow be just fine - when they've seen what having a sick baby struggling to breathe looks like and they would have been specifically advised to isolate her - would be beyond the pale.

John and Chelsy don’t even need to talk about COVID to their families. RSV is surging and it’s a real risk to Madeleine.  The restrictions are pretty much the same for both, right?

Yeah, RSV is really bad for babies, especially premies.

In CA during active RSV community outbreaks, premature infants < 34 weeks at birth, and certain other babies based on diagnosis, are given Synagis for RSV protection. Is there active RSV in Kansas? In CA this would not be the time of year for active RSV outbreaks. Not sure if COVID affected Synagis criteria or RSV guidelines for preterm infants-

This summer, RSV went way up. It was like cold and flu season was pushed into summer because the rates were very low during the winter. So RSV has been going around the Midwest much more now than it’s usual season (colder months).

My cousin's daughter had RSV this summer. Like, really bad. She was hospitalized for a week. Went home & was back in the hospital 3 days later -this time for 10 days.

The whole time, her father was making jokes about "Covid got her. Oh, wait, no it's just RSV let's control ourselves".

One of the worst things about the current climate in the US, from political to Covid denial is that I see so many people I love in a totally different light. I may still love them as family, but I don't like them. And think they re f*cking morons.

Fortunately, his daughter is ok now. But that poor baby was so sick for so long, she lost a lot of weight & strength & it's taking time to get it back. She's 15 months old - 14 months when she was sick and she's already lived through hell. While her father made jokes.

Without knowing your cousin's husband it could also have been a stress reaction. At one point when my son was critical in NICU we (husband and me) were in the Family room waiting to have a meeting with specialists and talking with another set of parents who were there for the same reason. If you'd heard us you would have thought we were horrible - we were cracking jokes about our babies taking it in turns to crash to make the medical staff sprint from one end of the NICU to the other. We were laughing so hard at one point - and it was all coming from huge amounts of stress because we didn't know if they would survive or how many options were left. Of course he could just be an insensitive dick - but stress does come out in really strange ways at times.

I wish that were the case. But, it was him 100%. It had nothing to do with stress reacting & everything to do with him being a crass Covid denying tRumper. It's unfortunate. He's always been a...I don't know...wannabe redneck. As much as his suburban Wisconsin life allows, he is. He's always been crude & crass. For the White Elephant one year he brought a wire hanger. That's it, just the hanger.

He spent the night thinking he was the funniest man to ever live.

I see both the Bowers home (in Alabama) and the Helferich compound (in Minnesota) are still on the market.

I’ve been saying this lately, too. It makes me sad that people I love and thought were intelligent are now acting so….unintelligent?  I actually feel embarrassed to have family members who refuse to contribute to the greater good; but are instead making sure this crisis lasts even longer. I am embarrassed by their selfishness.

Nothing about any of my relatives, and I have a lot of cousins, has suprised me. What has surprised me, though, is one close relative who I had cut off years ago for being an overtly racist, xenophobic, homophobic asshole and now turns out to despise Trump, is pro-vax, pro-mask. I would never have thought it possible. I'm sure nothing else about him has changed, though.

It's a non issue. She doesn't even acknowledge she is not vaccinated or anything that has anything to do with the Pandemic. It simply doesn't exist, so she is not going to do anything like take a precaution.

The damn bow. Poor baby was thrust into the world weeks ahead of schedule and has to live life with an elastic band on her head & a worthless bow. Life is hard an an infant; it's even harder if you're a female born to a fundie.

USMCDAD and I were fully vaccinated when our grandson was born and we STILL wore masks when we held him the first day. When our son-in-law got the okay from the pediatrician, we took the masks off but the doctor said “no kissing baby’s head or face” until he had his two month vaccines. Also, our daughter asked us to get a TDAP booster, mainly for the pertussis coverage; so of course we did that.

Seeing Becky kissing that tiny baby really angers me. Once again, we see “pro life” idiots endangering the ones they claim to love. It really takes so little to do our part to protect these babies.  I just don’t understand these people.

Just a small glimpse of the hypocrisy of the "pro life" movement. As well as making it very clear they don't give a shit about life, they just want to control women & punish them for being hussies.

Even before the pandemic, I was a bit of a germ weirdo about newborns. I would never kiss a newborn that wasn’t my newborn. I don’t think it’s wrong to kiss newborns. I just can’t do it. I’m afraid I’ll pass germs to them that will make them sick. I would always wash my hands too. I admit I’m afraid of newborns because I don’t want to harm them. A premie newborn would get a big nope from me. You wanna hold her? Nope! I would be so anxious the whole time. I like big 6 month olds to hold. They give me way less anxiety.

If I had a preemie born at 30 weeks gestation, no one would be visiting or holding the baby for many months. During a pandemic involving a deadly respiratory virus? Hard no. I’m sorry. The grandparents could come to the window for a peak. Love all life, PROTECT it by following medical recommendations and common sense.

She comes off as so incredibly boring on instagram. Yet I bet if she posted about all her moves since getting married, it might be slightly interesting. It’s like she wants to be boring.
