Lori Alexander 50: Making an Idol of Herself

Recommended Posts

I love how they are all trying to one up each other on her post about living on one income- I can’t imahinr my husband having to bear the worry about not making rent. I seriously can’t.

And the comment from the blog post about women working costing more than what they bring in- nope. Not ever in my situation. To be fair, I didn’t include costs of eating out (I bring lunch to work and cook at home), clothing (because I don’t frequently shop and I have a pretty basic wardrobe- today I’m in a short sleeve top, linen pants, and flip flops), or gas (my commute is minimal and I would need gas anyway, plus any travel I do for work is reimbursed). I also don’t have a cleaning person (but would love one- just as Amazon Fresh was a lifesaver, this would be as well).

Oh- and leadership at my place of employment is well represented by women. And my direct supervisor frequently comments that she wishes she could pay me more due to the value I bring to the organization.

I said over at TTW2. I want to issue these ladies a challenge. Let's see who can survive on zero income. If God is so powerful and nothing is impossible and since these ladies are so godly, surely God will just rain food and cash from the sky for them, right?  And for all the things they cut back on they never say they go without INTERNET. They mock smartphone but not the internet.

I thought Lori was all about frugal (cough) living.  So, she should make her own kombucha, like she does her einkhorn bread and buy $14 butter and $7 dozen eggs, and $75 jean skirts.

As for all those breastfeeding posts, we get it Lori:  your husband Ken Alexander is a pervert, who gets off on women's breasts while breastfeeding babies and their butts in skimpy bikinis.  Stop posting to go viral, love on your newest grandbaby instead of einkhorn bread, and be there for your "sick, old" mother.

Lori is at it again, going on and on about breasts.  For someone who preaches modesty, she sure does focus on the boobies.   Lori dear, you have some unresolved issues.

If my headship wants me to nurse and asks me not to cover his kid with a tarp when eating in public, would Lori say it was OK then?  After all, I have to obey my husband above all else.  And really if Ken can't keep his eyes off my breasts that's probably her fault because she's not giving him enough sex, right?

I didn't think about it until now, but I wonder if the "stop believing studies on spanking" was directed at Emily, too.

I could see Lori getting really mad if Emily and Steven decided not to spank.  Her other son (Ryan) seems to have taken a page out of his mother's book, and Lori was absolutely gleeful when they mistreated poor Emma.  Cassi seems to being falling in line as well.  Emily might be different, though, and that would piss Lori right off.

If she came to watch Gracie while the new baby was being born, I could see Emily telling her that they don't spank and possibly citing studies to support her position.

I REALLY wish Emily would use her brain and stop letting Lori around those kids.  Especially unsupervised.

Can you imagine what Gracie (who appears to be very happy) would think of Lori?  I mean she's seen her a handful of times.  Lori shows up to watch her while her parents at the hospital.  Gracie possibly cries because she misses her mom, and there's Lori threatening her that God will send snakes to bite her if she complains (and then cackling like an idiot).  We know she's done exactly that, with Ryan's kids.  What would stop her from telling Gracie the same thing?

And then there's the fact that Lori admits to being "sneaky" <---her word.  She "sneakily" sabotaged her birth control.  She "sneakily" takes picture of people/homes/her neighbor's closet.  I have no doubt that she would "sneakily" try to "train" Emily and Steven's daughter.  Because "God's Ways!  :angry-cussingblack:

I REALLY makes me mad that a parent could read what Lori has willingly posted, and still trust her with their kids.

*glowing with all the Louisiana love*

Last week CNN aired Anthony Bourdain's episode of him here for Mardi Gras. I drank red wine & cried. I've seen the runners come in & partied with some of the people in that episode. If you have a chance, look up that one & the one from last year when he was thrown the boucherie. He visited New Orleans & Eunice that trip. Word has it he was in my town for several days & hit up our Popeye's for the mac & cheese 3 days in a row. We have the only one with a buffet in the world.

I loved the fact that he never made us look back woods or stupid.

I love Anthony Bourdain and I bawled like a baby when I heard about his suicide.  I loved that he took time to talk to people, he learned about their cultures.  He never made anything or anyone appear back woods or stupid.  Except when he was a guest judge on Top Chef.  He was no hold barred then!

I feel like I'm the weird man out, I have no desire to go to NO.  I want to go back to Chicago so bad (I was raised in the 'burbs).  I want to go to Scotland.  And I want to see yellowstone but I am not that much of an adventurous person.  The rest of my family is.  My SIL got to go to NO twice in the spring for business but had enough time to explore the city.  She said it's an amazing place and she's looking forward to go back again.  Okay, so I admit it, I am boring.  LOL

What? Ten minutes and lube isn't enough?

There has got to be some sort of psychology term to use when one pays to get thousands of people to read their posts and then turns around and accuses people of "why are you reading this page?, Why are you following here?".  Its almost like gaslighting.  Advertising your circus and then being angry at people who read the advertisement and came.

I hate it when people make nasty comments about breastfeeding in public.  If it offends you so much, then look somewhere else.  I was not able to nurse my son (cleft lip/palate) but I did nurse my daughter and I nursed her at the mall, in a restaraunt, at the communion rail at church!  Pastor knew what I was doing and he just handed me the wafer and said his bit and moved to the next person.  He never batted an eye.  It's bloody ridiculous how up in arms people are.  NOt my problem!

Using Lori logic, it's definitely her fault.  and 10min and some lube is NOT what I would call satisfying sex.  (And I won't go further with that thought!

All her talk about boobs makes me wonder if she isn't in the closet.  (And she would be so far into the closet that she's reached narnia!)

Doesn't Lori claim to be an older woman?  Maybe now she needs 15 minutes to get the job done, advancing age being what it is.

I was lucky enough to go to New Orleans on a business trip, and stayed at a hotel near the French Quarter. It was lovely, but the heat and humidity (in late September) nearly did me in. (The locals I met said, “But it’s not that bad out!”) And the food would have killed me, too—the restaurants were wall-to-wall deliciousness and I swear that dining there for more than a few days would have given me a heart attack and a stroke. K-Paul’s! Central Grocery for muffulettas!  Beignets at Café du Monde! The Commander’s Palace! Even the local diner the neighborhood UUs took me to after church! As a friend told me, “No bad restaurant can stay in business there. They take their food VERY seriously.”

You're speaking my language and making me hungry!! :my_biggrin:  Got two trips planned before fall gets here!

Been thinking on her latest tirade plus the kids/grandkids.  Could it be that she's seeing her d.i.l. do things by her book and she is just ate up with the "I told you so".."look what my perfect people do"?  Just speculation.

You bring up a really good point. She's not just obsessed with breasts -- although they do seem to be her big thing -- but also with butts. She talks an AWFUL lot about "thongs" and leggings.

At the same time, fundies really drill into your head that if a man sees an attractive woman, he then makes a "mental Rolodex" of her in his brain and uses it later for fap material. They also drill it into your head that a man cannot see an attractive woman without creating a mental porno starring him and her. It's really, really devastating to your self-esteem. So she may have heard enough of that to internalize it, making her super insecure around any attractive women. Especially if she's aging or Ken is a noticeable perv.

More crazy. This woman suggests that if a woman works she is one of the "lost".

Then here is our buddy Jacob happy that Lori's site triggers people. Not to mention how ignorant he is to all the people who she has deleted who has cited scripture.

@AlwaysDiscerning that makes me cringe. It's almost like they believe that if it uses scripture and riles people up that it must be true. But it doesn't ugh

so because we're talking about traveling. If you could go on an all expense paid trip where would you go? I personally really want to see Southern Ireland as I thought Northern Ireland was beautiful. Or Scotland. Or maybe back to Wales.

Oh yeah, shoot, I didn't even think of that. Yikes, that is absolutely what he is implying. Lori scripture good because it pisses people off. Other's peoples scripture bad cause it doesn't trigger.

All around the world :D The farthest out of the US I have been is Vancouver, Canada.

But... if I only could pick one place/thing out of all the things and it would be the only thing....animals in Africa. Not sure how long they have left. And then I would swing up to the pyramids. Very early loves. Very dear to my heart.

England. For as long as I possibly could, maybe a month? Six months? LOL. Long enough to rent a cottage on the coast of Cornwall for awhile, then wander all around the country. Salisbury, Winchester, York, Hadrian's Wall, the Cotswolds, village churches, Roman ruins...um, yeah, six months, at least. :pb_lol:

From the blog brag-a-thon on how to live on $0. It's idiocy like this that makes me so angry that Lori preaches living on one income no matter what (bolding mine):

Quote

"We didn’t know how we were going to pay rent last month. My husband took on extra hours at work without asking for anything in return (no extra pay) even though we were short. He bought breakfast for his team. He ended up with a bonus he didn’t expect for doing these things for his boss. We made rent. It’s about doing things Gods way. Give and don’t expect. It’s hard and uncomfortable but He always comes through."

Let's parse this.  They had no money for rent. The  hub got an unexpected bonus so they could then pay rent. But if he hadn't gotten a bonus they couldn't have paid rent. So........ what happens this month and the next and the next and the next. etc, etc..... when there isn't any money for rent?

Why would anyone willingly live a hard and uncomfortable life if there is a simple alternative?  Why would anyone willingly subject their family to the insecurity of not knowing month to month if they're going to be homeless?

Lori has never done that, even if (and that's a big if) she and Ken had ever had a tight money month there was always Lori's well-off father to bail them out.

How did she manage to get 20K new followers out of this? All bought and paid for.

That would be my guess.  She needs the ego stroke so pay for followers.

All expenses paid? A tour of Asia. Hit all the Disney parks there, go to the Volks place in Kyoto, shop at Mandarake, see all the major sights in China, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, S. Korea, etc.

if I can come up with the money, this time next year I'll be getting ready to go to Iceland! A friend of mine is from there and just told us to save the date for her wedding. So happy for her and I really hope I can go.

Chicago and Scotland.  My husband want to go to the Loire Valley of France, and Tuscany. I just want a whiskey tour!

And I want to see the Cubs play an afternoon game at Wrigley Field. (I will never go to a night game, I still maintain they ruined baseball when they put those blasted lights up.  There is a reason they didn't work the first year they were up)

I love Oregon. Only a few days in the 90s so far. Enough to get the ac up and running. But still mostly high 70s, dropping into the 50s.

It was 100 today with a Heat Index of 109.  I would kill for 70s.
