A new grandchild for Lori. ... her son Ryan and dil Erin are expecting their fourth, due in November. (According to Erin's instagram, Champagne and Glitter)

Erin is also looking to hire some jewelry makers for her business.

About her business that just proves even more that this is a serious operation. This isn't some fluff sell stuff on the side while being a SAHM as Ken made it out to be. She is a full on business woman with a CAREER.

Not to mention I can't get over the name of Champagne in her business when Lori goes on and about evil alcohol yet the name of a type of alcoholic beverage is helping to support her family.

Oh and it could be her business is what really allows them to be able to afford a FOURTH child!!

Has she given an update on her sister whose house burned down in the CA wildfires last year?  I think that topic would make for an interesting set of posts - she could discuss where they live temporarily, how they are handling the loss, are they rebuilding, etc.

However, those posts wouldn't be controversial enough to increase her following, and the focus would be on someone else, so Lori might not care to discuss it.

Isn't this the same Lori that drinks sangria? Which contains wine, and usually a spirit as well. Pssh!

And the same Lori who has said she enjoys a glass of wine with dinner. But also wishes she lived in an alcohol-free world.

Is she an alcoholic? Developing dementia? Maybe, but I'm going with holier-than-thou hypocrite. The rules don't apply to Lori. Because reasons. But anyone else who does exactly what she does "must hate God's ways"!

Ohhhh Jennifer's mistake is that she says her new relationship FEELS better. We aren't suppose to live based on our feelings!!

If Lori found some quack doc who said drinking a bottle of wine a day prevents cancer she would start doing it, regardless what the bible says. And she would post a photo of the bottle each day on instagram with a quote from the quack doc.

Didn't Emily(Under $1000 Per Month)admit they didn't go to a dentist because "we take care of our teeth"(Dna's black choppers notwithstanding)?

You can take care of your teeth all you want, but you can't prevent everything. EDS and other health problems can make you more prone to a whole host of dental problems, and how on earth do you prevent hereditary orthodontic issues? I wore braces for three darn years. And a retainer for years and years after that. (I probably should have kept wearing it, too, because my lower teeth have shifted -- cosmetic only, but still!). And heaven forbid you have a traumatic dental accident, like I did -- you could lose one or more of those beautifully cared-for teeth in the blink of an eye.

Of all things, dental insurance has never been something I've skimped on.

eta: also, taking care of one's teeth INVOLVES routine cleanings and checkups. So.

I feel like Erin's business has to take up quite a bit of time. If she's doing her own setting of the stones and all that. Plus the other half of business like shipping, buying supplies, finances... That's full time work and I doubt she's doing it when the kids go to bed or in little spurts of free time. Plus it's hard to have have art supplies out when little kids are running around.

Working at home does not mean being mentally focused on kids it means being focused on work at home with screaming kids running around. But what would Lori know about that?

Ok.  This is something that's been plaguing me for a while, I've seen it reference by Lori and some of the other tee-totalers (as I call them).  The biiiig push to have children.  I know for most it's the whole "Army for God" bit, save the world from the pagans and Muslims.  Lori has made mention that the world isn't overpopulated and there is this fear that all the young women who are refusing to have children are basically going to cause humanity to suffer it's numbers in years to come.  They fear a massive decline in the existence of humans.  Here's my problem:  why do they care so much?  Is it superiority?  If so, they call those who don't want more than a couple children, selfish.  Well...isn't it a bit selfish on their part to demand that their issue become or remain the height of the worlds creatures?

If it's the idea that they are obeying God and maintaining his playground, that doesn't make much sense either.  If babies originally come from heaven and the deceased should return there....if we breed ourselves out, won't we simply stop coming down to the sinful Earth?  Wouldn't we remain in heaven in whatever state we are?  Isn't heaven the ultimate goal anyway?

Are they afraid that humans will diminish and lose their place at the top of the food chain?  Animal Farm will come to life and we'll be imprisoned by the critters?

Last bit, I swear.  Who. The Hell. Cares.  If any of that does happen?  Seriously.  I'm middle aged, I've met many young women in their 20's who already have IUD's and other forms of semi-permanent birth control.  Let's say it takes roughly 200 years for this decline to actually have an effect.....many of those who are now so concerned won't even be around, hell their children won't be around.  So why do Lori and the like have their panties in such a wad over something that will likely not happen at all????

Sorry for the wall, it just really burns me when I see some baby making machine say another woman is being selfish for not wanting to risk a collapsed uterus, unattached children, and financial ruin.

ETA:  much love to those with big families who actually care for all their children and do it responsibly.

And, @Imrlgoddess, I shudder to think what “Good Christians (TM)” like Lori would have to say if these big Christian families are the wrong kind of Christian, or, God forbid, people of color.

This is a little off-topic, but today I visited Zsuszanna Anderson's page for the first time in a long while. She has posted an hour-long video review of "To Train Up A Child". I haven't watched the entire thing, but in the first few minutes she calls Michael Pearl a creepy narcissist, and says the book is unbiblical, dangerous, advocates child abuse, and is directly responsible for the deaths of three children.

Am I wrong for wanting Lorken to see this video, so they can attempt to tell Zsu why she is wrong? Because I really, really would love to see that happen!

If you're wrong, then so am I.  I'd pay to watch that!

I completely enjoyed reading this!! The Malamute is an often misunderstood breed for good and bad. Dogsledding around here almost always involves teams of the modern, 45 lb, compact, fast Alaskan Husky. The big brutes of yesteryear are rarely used for anything beyond freighting and trapping and so their contribution to the history of dogsledding is fading - a pet peeve of mine.

The Malamute makes a great family dog and while incredibly loyal to their family, they also have a tendency to love all people which makes them a really crappy watch dog.

And the strength is just as you wrote. I have a 2-year-old male whose legs are like tree trunks. He is a monster and yet one stern look from me sends him rolling over in submission.

We lost two of our great males this winter to age. Sigh. It's hard to say farewell to a companion that has taken you on so many great adventures.

Look up Joe Henderson Malamutes on the internet or Facebook if you would like to see photos of some fine animals. He is a friend of ours and has great dogs!!

You just reminded me of a mystery series I enjoyed years ago where the protagonist had malamutes. Now I want to go back and hunt the books up for a re-read.

@Ken

Your wife has NO CLUE, and her advice is flat out dangerous.  And did I say that she has no clue?  Because she has NO CLUE.

A reader wrote the following:

So what is she supposed to do if he doesn't repent, Lori?  Yes, abusers can change, but IME they rarely do, preferring to blame the victim for "making me mad."

Wow.  Just abso-frickin-loutely WOW.  It's AGAINST THE LAW.  Domestic abuse IS. AGAINST. THE. LAW.  Not God's laws, not husbandly laws, it's a CRIMINAL ACT.  Shame on her for even remotely encouraging anyone to stay while getting the shit kicked out of them, and shame on her for saying that it's better to stay than leave.

I cannot begin to tell you the absolute horrors I witnessed spouses/partners do to each other in forms of abuse.  I spent ten years as a police officer and this idiot's post makes my blood BOIL!!!

What if Lori would have found herself in that situation?  As usual, the rules wouldn't apply, I'm sure.

I would bet that if Ken blackened Lori's eye or if he wouldn't allow her to spend any money, she would jump ship and be all for divorce. Fiscal abuse and she would be out the door in a flash, taking him for all he has.

I have a family friend who is a retired dentist. He encouraged his patients to take care of their teeth and get regular checkups and cleanings - but, he always said that there is no guarantee that you won't have problems. He pointed out that some people have weak enamel and bad dental genetics. Other health problems can take a toll on your teeth. Another family friend had dental problems after cancer and chemo. I have an aunt who bragged years ago about how she didn't have cavities and she upped her bragging around the time my uncle had to get dentures. She is a diabetic, had a kidney transplant, and had a cancer bout. In the past couple of years, she has had dental issues and has had to have two teeth extracted.

My cousin is a dental assistant and while she limits her kids' intake of sugar and acidic drinks, one of her kids still got a cavaity. My cousin and my family friend drill getting cleanings and checkups that way some problems can be caught early before they get bad enough for root canals, extractions, and other serious treatments.

Also from what I understand, a spouse runs the risk of having their children taken away if they continue to expose their kids to an abusive partner. It's damaging to children at all levels when they have an abusive parent. Their kids will just end up distrusting both their parents because there's a failure to protect them.

What's the point of long term separation? If the spouse never repents then they never live together so that's pretty much the same as divorce. The Bible doesn't say anything about separations but she's advocating for it. Abusers tend to escalate their abuse not get better so again the likelihood of them reconnecting is low.

I suspect that she's on this kick because of the Paige Patterson controversy. I see her porn post connecting with this post as a "see? He can get better! You just have to believe more!" Bullshit
