Mainstream clothes are a lot more conservative now than they were back in the late 90's/early 00's when the specials started airing. Maxi skirts were definitely not stylish during The Frumper Era, and it'll be interesting to see what unfolds in the next few years as shorter skirts are making a comeback.

Now that you say that... yes. I had kind of forgotten how hard it was to find/wear clothes that I was allowed to have. I do remember it became pretty awful in high school when I was the only one wearing maxi skirts and button downs...

I'm pretty sure that I didn't wear clothes in any meaningful sense between the years of 1998-2006 or so; everything was short, tight, see-through, and cut up and down the sides. I actually got yelled at a few times at church. NIKEEEEEEEE!

I have no clue what they've got for the finale. Episode 6 of 7 has both the courtship and marriage proposals. What else is there? Oh,I guess shipping Jilly Muffin and Dirty Jesus back to Danger America, but that's not an hour show; we've already seen the goodbye party.

Someone on tumblr is claiming that the last two episodes are called "After Show"(After the Show?)

I hope that, in her newfound love of reading, Jinger stumbles across Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend. It's written from a Christian perspective and is all about how to deal with difficult people. There are also other books in the series about specific types of relationships. I think it would do her good to read a book about how it's not un-Christian to set reasonable limits with your overbearing family members.

Agree. My therapist had me read this, actually bought a copy so I could read it. It helped a lot.

I bet that's true. Episode 5 is Joy getting engaged, Joe starting to court, and the Dullards returning to Danger America. This Monday is Samuel's "gender" reveal, riveting footage of JinJer going to a Mexican restaurant to learn Espanol, and the Seewalds adjusting to life with another kid. Snore.

What else is there to get to 7 episodes? These five episodes have pretty much blown their collective wad.

How are people still interested in tuning in every week when we've seen all this through social media & magazine spreads? If they did it on a 1-2 week delay I could see, but the whole timeline is so messed up I don't even understand what the point is (money, I know, but still).

Jeremy had to fill out a 50 page questionnaire before getting approved to ask Jinger to court. There must have been an entire page devoted to accepting all the blessings that god wants to bestow upon them. I don't think he would lie on the questionnaire and I don't think JB would approve his candidacy if he didn't agree to having many babies. I don't think they would do any prevention other than maybe NFP.

I'm wondering if this questionair wasn't a joke, or they aren't exaggerating the length.  I can see maybe 50 questions but 50 pages?  I doubt even Boob could come up with 50 pages of questions.

I don't care if he did fill out a questionnaire, he wanted Jinger and I wouldn't put it past him to lie, Jinger or Ben very well likely told him what he needs to do/say to get permission to have Jinger.  These people aren't honest they lie all the time why not lie about this to get what they want?

The other great one is 'When Difficult Relatives Happen To Good People".

They'd also have to rely more on the courage of their convictions with so short of a delay as nothing could be heavily edited in that time.

Ever since Dwreck mentioned in a TH that the questionnaire is "this thick", I've had a sneaking suspicion it might be like an exam paper - one to two lines of question at the top, then the rest of the sheet left blank for writing answers.

I don't know, Boob could've written his questions with really big letters in crayon.

I just need a good haircut -eventually.  I went to this one stylist who has great reviews and is Deva Level 3 certified, but man she was not good with my hair.  My hair looks awful right now.

I'm a 3A too and went to a curl specialist until her MS became too much for her to keep working, haircuts took ages longer, but were so worth it. She'd find my curl pattern and cut 'pointer strands', bit shorter than those around it to lead the curls or something. It made it look presentable without effort and a lot less frizz, I'm looking for another, but for now am just braiding it at night to try and keep the curls more even. I love the L'Oreal nature's therapy stuff from Sallys (on clearance right now!), sulfate free, not too heavy.  I also ditched the straightner for the Instyler (the scary looking spinning thing with a brush), got it as a gift for Christmas and it uses less heat and doesn't leave my hair looking limp.

My sweet niece got my hair and brother is watching me sort hers, but is frustrated he can't do it right so they're going to one of those Daddy Daughter hair classes. Excellent idea given that our dad got a brush stuck in my hair when trying to do it for my incredibly important role of flower girl in a family wedding, to the point where he took me to get it cut out (thankfully they just detangled it and redid our glitter infused efforts).  Light up fairy crowns weren't a thing back then.

Also, we don't know about Jeremys level of fertility. He could have sperm issues that would make it harder to conceive. It's not just about the woman's fertility,

Ah true. GKs take a lot of soccer balls to the family jewels. Even with protection, that can't be good?

On the last episode didn't Jinger say that seeing Jessa with kids made her think it could be right around the corner for her and Babe? Yeah, doesn't sound like prevention to me.

I think Jinger's personality, particularly her facial expressions and reaxtions, are causing people to read her as going against the norm. But every time we've speculated something like this we've been wrong. These children have been indoctrinated and their spouses vetted by Boob.

I honestly feel like kids will deviate when Boobchelle have less direct control over their decisions, and even then they'll still have influence.

As for Jeremy's uber-Calvinism, that will influence Jinger but not enough to save her from her fundieness. He's fundie-lite (maybe even medium well) himself.

Okay, I finally got caught up and watched all the episodes from the latest season. And I gotta say... I'm just not seeing these supposed signs that Jinger and Jeremy are going to delay childbearing for any significant length of time. The only thing that gives me slight pause is the fact that it's been over six months with no announcement, but in reality that means absolutely nothing. It often takes 6+ months even for young, healthy couples with no fertility issues to get pregnant.

Her sisters seemed to believe that Jinger and Jeremy were hoping for kids soon. Of course, they could be deluded. But Jinger herself seemed to imply that she could be pregnant sooner rather than later.

I guess we'll found out, but nothing any of them said suggested to me that they were purposely delaying conception.

Thanks, obviously sports of any kind are not my thing.

Listen, I know soccer because of raising kids. I like it ok. I don't miss all the freezing cold nights sitting on bleachers for years....I hate all other sports pretty much and I think that professional sports are a BLIGHT on our society.

But COLLEGE Basketball?  College Basketball is amazing.

Blergh.. But seriously. Basketball is the ONE sport I can't stand.

I'm a huge HUGE soccer (football) fan, and I love American college football (Go VOLS!).

My kids only did parks and rec baseball softball.  GK played soccer/football in Kindergarten and her 1st game I met them at the field, I had class, and she comes running to the field in a skort, she had fake hair and a tiara on.  It took me a good 5 minutes to get it off her.  Then later in the season she come crying off the field to her coach  and he busts out laughing as I get over to see if she's ok he passes her off and she says "I broke a nail". Yep, that is my little princess. But yes that was pretty much the end of her soccer career.

Mr Wolfie was born in Germany so he's big into soccer. I coached youth teams for 3 years. For college football he likes Notre Dame, I'm U of M (GO BLUE!)  We're all big hockey fans. (Blackhawks mostly, youngest wolfie plays hockey and loves the Red Wings). That's as far into sports as I go.
