Wait, wait, wait- Kelly Bradrick was adopted??!?!?

As @smittykins said, they all were. And ISB has it that they are all bio siblings* -- seems Kelly Is naturally brunette,** and if so, has fabulous hair and product to bring her mane to the healthy-looking blonde we're  used to seeing. (Source unknown, but I remember reading it.)

(Also: sheeee, Junebug, stop with the topic drift already!)

ERMA GERD!!!!!! Did anyone else notice the wide stance phallic rock in this scene?

Jebus H. Crust on a Big Red Bus, these guys just never let up.

ETA: I did go to the scene at the 5-minute mark.  Where the hell does someone get a very long walking stick in a treeless area?  Ditto, firewood for the fire in the hulk of a (conveniently) crashed airplane!  Inquiring minds want to know.  I guess it's driftwood.  Also, their outfits suggest people who really have no idea what backpacking is like or what you wear to hang in the out of doors for work or play. It's an Abercrombie and Fitch vibe.  Nothing rugged about it.

@Howl, well sure they styled the actors [sic] to look good, not authentic---that's what VF/NCFIC Dominionism & Patriarchy are all about:  image and SALES.  Ugly people with dirty faces in torn clothing that was already tacky /=/ SALES to this group!

Also:

I want, nay, MUST HAVE that image for my avatar!!!! How do I do that????

I did it as a screen capture from the video, but you can just screen capture my image.  Just google "screen capture" for what ever computer you have and go from there.

Agree all image and sales: VF was selling the fantasy of a perfect life.

I just had to check the distance between Washington and North Carolina and it is approximately 3660 kilometers / 2274 miles. For reference, that is about the same distance as from Stockholm to Teheran.

I feel really sorry for their kids who will more or less grow up without their father. This is just a really sad situtation.

In the Parenting plan document it says that the counseling, in case of a dispute, is Craig Houston, Westside Baptist Church. Peter also wanted the court documents to be e-mailed to an adress that ends with "bibledirectionforlife". I googled the adress and it goes to the same baptist church: http://www.bibledirectionforlife.com/

Is that Peter's new church and does it have any connections to VF of NCFIC?

ETA: No Bradrick! in this one, just Dougie exploiting his kids. Look for the manly Icelandic-sweater-in-the-plane-crash shot at the 5 minute mark.

I wonder if poor Justice is still sad and forgotten?

The last I saw, Justice was on a motor bike speeding far from Doug.  Means of support not known but he didn't seem to have a job or a Go Fund Me.  I have to hope it is the Great Escape not a Hazardous Journey.

Hazardous Journeys.  I loved all those Manly Men travelling to the ends of the earth and getting the gullible to fund their vacations.  Here's one of the very last ones - the team who failed to convert Burma:  http://expeditiontoburma.com/#top

Interesting if Peter is indeed under church discipline.   He of the wide stance has really fallen.

@Pretzel - on Tapatalk so I can't do a search or link to anything but not too long ago someone here said that Deborah Brown was unable to have bio children due to an early menopause condition -- hence the multiple adoptions.

Looks like the "expedition" was tourist-y flouncing about in Burma with cameras -- essentially an extended selfie -- and guides.  Excellent grifting skills to talk the gullible into underwriting the entire $16,000.  Griftionaries indeed.

The requisite wide-stance photo, so important to culturally insensitive exploration:

How very |S|S of them.

(And they didn't even exert the effort to ruin the thing!! Just posed like safari hunters on a dead elephant. Egad.)

So Doug and his manly men made a hazardous journey to one of the most well-known tourist spots in Iceland? How heroic of them! I wonder if they needed permission to film there or if a bunch of weird Americans just showed up and started filming, walking around in knitted sweaters, drinking coffe from a tin cup and staring longingly into the horizon.

My favourite part of the clip is when they're trekking through Jökulsárlón (where the big chunks of ice are washed up on shore).  They've shot it so you don't see the large tourist building and parking lot directly behind them.

Speaking of gay, I had a vague memory of Bradrick! working against the evil gay agenda when he was still the Prince of VF. And look what I found!

And Kelly wrote the day before:

"Praying for my husband who is right now in downtown Raleigh, street preaching against the homosexual agenda during the city's Gay Rights Parade. Please be in prayer for our team... Peter Bradrick, Tony Hernandez, Taylor Tsantles, David Brown."

Here's Scott Brown's blog from May - scroll down:

Thank you @iEscaped, also the e-mail address leads me to believe that Peter is currently under the church discipline at the Westside Baptist Church (it's a FIC church and the lead pastor preaches on Scott's circuit) http://www.bibledirectionforlife.com/ and is probably not allowed to have his own e-mail as part of the agreement.

I cannot understand why Peter is still voluntarily submitting to the crazy after it has ruined the lives of everyone in his family. Unlike Kelly, he doesn't seem to need to remain in the fold in order to eat. What a stunted life he leads, both in the world and in his head.

This recent Dear Prudence letter reminded me of this thread...

Quote

Dear Prudence,
My younger brother and I (he’s 28, I’m 30) were raised in an extremely conservative evangelical household. When he was 18, my brother tearfully confessed to me and my parents that he is gay. I told him I would support him no matter what, but my parents made him listen to lectures about how being gay is a sin, and how he could change if he really tried, and sent him to a “conversion therapy” camp. Since then, he has gone out with a series of young women and is planning on proposing to his current girlfriend. He appears happy on the surface, but to me, he seems broken and deflated, and I see no real joy in his relationships. It breaks my heart to see him so miserable. I’ve always tried to counter my parents’ preaching, but I’m worried it’s too late. She doesn’t know that he’s gay—my brother told me he’s never told her. Since all my pleas have fallen on deaf ears, I am wondering if you can tell me: Should I say something to his girlfriend? I am afraid that if he goes through with this proposal they will both be unhappy. I think telling his girlfriend about his confession might be the only way to save them.

There are only  a few reasons why a father would agree to such a parenting plan:

1) lack of interest in his children and a desire for freedom from responsibility

2) debilitating guilt

3) fear that sordid details will be revealed if he doesn't comply (but thanks to the Internet, nothing stays secret for long)

I wonder if a judge will look at this proposed agreement and ask everyone how this is in the best interest of the kids. If a parent voluntarily agrees to so few visitation rights, the judge would be right to question whether the parent had been coerced in some way. But I have no idea how this stuff works.

Maybe he was strictly fooling around with women and Scottie insisted on also putting in the part about boyfriends to embarrass him. Anything is possible.

@iEscaped Thank you for entering these all in filedropper again!!

#1 and #3 must be there to a certain extent, but it seems from his complete and utter giving up and giving over everything, #2 of debilitating guilt has pushed all else to the back.

We now know he only makes $5000 (on average since he is in real estate). $1624 monthly child support + $1250 monthly alimony only leaves him $2126 to live on (and still pay for all credit card bills left which may have contained the money trail of what Peter had been doing). The only thing he is left with is a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban. Time to become a better realtor, Peter.

Also, I guess reason number 4 for agreeing to give up his rights could be "Is really, really guilty of something horrible beyond the infidelity the judges see all the time and knows that he will get smoked in court"

Just a quick question for @iEscaped (thanks) and any of our WA residents.

In my state the divorce papers would not become public record (and downloadable for a price) until a judge had already signed off on the agreement.  Until then the records would be sealed.

So this divorce agreement has been signed, sealed and delivered.  Yes?

This is my first post here, and sadly I'm watching several similar scenarios play out in the lives of friends with similar upbringing and backgrounds (though not as high-profile online individuals), from a slightly different segment of fundamentalism (Bob Jones, which is linked to Chuck Phelps and a few other discussions here).

That said, I just thought I'd mention the pastor that it looks like Peter Bradrick is now under. Craig Houston and his wife have 12 kids: http://www.thehoustontable.com/family/, (and just lost their youngest to drowning: https://www.youcaring.com/craigandemilyhouston-733744) (also, had a daughter go through cancer: http://emiliesposts.blogspot.com/2014/05/happy-one-year-anniversary-anna-renee.html). Their old blog is here: http://emiliesposts.blogspot.com/.)

BUT, more importantly, he *is* connected with the NCFIC: https://ncfic.org/resources/view/spending-quality-time-with-your-family

There are a lot of implications to draw from this. But it looks like however Peter may have changed, he isn't "free."

I did a little more sleuthing.

This post would have been by Scott Brown:

https://ncfic.org/blog/posts/special-young-men

I'm not quite sure on the date, but I believe it may have been a bit farther back, maybe as far as 2010. But here's the quote:

Quote

Craig Houston's sons were an enormous help to us at the conference. Throughout the weekend, while we were at the Bremerton conference, he delegated his sons to us. He gave Samuel to me (not pictured) Daniel to Peter and Nathaniel to David. They were sharp, efficient, and able in all the tasks we gave them to do. I was so excited to see such young boys whole heartedly dedicated to the mission of their father.

And yes, that Peter that Scott Brown was writing about is Peter Bradrick (this photo on that post)

peter.jpg

(It also appears that this conference mentioned above hosted at Craig Houston's church, which is what the website http://www.bibledirectionforlife.com/ leads to.) So we know that there's a Peter Bradrick -- Scott Brown -- Craig Houston connection goes back pretty far. We know that Craig Houston appears to still be in favor with Scott Brown.

Scott and Craig spoke at the same conference just a few months back, in October 2016: http://www.paulthompsonblog.com/tag/craig-houston/

The only thing I can focus on is that Peter still has a gigantically wide stance for no real reason in that picture.

Those would have been his pre-DPIAT ousting days, I think?? It would be interesting to compare stance widths through the years! ;)

Craig Houston regularly does conferences with Scott and was/is Peter and Kelly's pastor in Washington.
