Hello! Another long time lurker, first time poster here.

I have to say that Josh having an affair did not surprise me. I always figured that he or Jim Boob would end up having one and that multiple skeletons are hiding in the prayer closet at the TTH. I am disgusted with the "rehab" that Josh is going to. I have a Master's in counseling from a Christian University and there was a TON of emphasis on using faith in treatment only if the client was on board and even then, we are only to use it in addition to traditional counseling methods! It equated down to 90-95% traditional counseling and 5-10% using faith.

He is going to learn absolutely nothing, except how to tow the line better and hide the actions that don't abode with his family's values! I don't think rehab is what is needed for this situation either but legitimate counseling would at least allow him to address how he's feeling without judgement.

The only surprise I truly had from Joshgate 2.0 is that Jim Boob and DQ posted that they were disappointed in him! Fully expected that they would publicly support him but he made them look foolish. It makes me sick to think that people rallied behind him and his parents with Joshgate 1.0 but you know what they say, "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

The Danica Dillon thing is so super suspect to me. I don't think it couldn't have happened, I just think that there's really no down side for her coming out with all this whether any of it is true or not. She's getting a metric shit ton of press for this and if it comes out that she's a big fat liar, well that's just a second metric shit ton of press. I can't see it hurting her career one way or another. I don't think that she will be sued for libel because it would open a can of worms the Duggars desperately wants shut... and I think she and her publicist probably know that.

So that being said, her mentioning twice that he had terrifying sex with her without protection, I have to wonder why she's specifically pointing that out. I think it's just another detail to make it more salacious, but again, it could also be 100% true. Nothing she said is really that out there, it just sounds highly exaggerated at the minimum.

Right now, I am taking her story with a huge grain of salt. It sounds exaggerated to me too. It might be true but really she has nothing to lose so she can come up with anything.

Hey all-newbie--but forever duggar creeper....Anyway, Josh, the tough_guy.....I don't know anything about lap dances and paying a porn start for sex. But is it typical for Josh to have a full on conversation with the woman about her career and her boobs before/after? When did this happen? During/before/after the lap dance/horizontal tango? I know I'm late, but I wanted to add my WTF to the "rape-depression" treatment. You get raped, you get depressed, then you get sent to this work camp where you get 6 1/2 hours of sleep a night. You get work and Bible Study. No complaining allowed. Less visiting time than prisoners get. Just call it what is, a reeducation camp.

I hate that people are so damn misinformed about herpes. There's Herpes simplex I and Herpes Simplex II. Both can cause labial herpes and genital herpes. Up to 95% of the world's population carry Herpes Simplex I and about 15% up to estimated 30% carry Herpes Simplex II*. Again, BOTH can cause either form of Herpes. The means of transmission are so versatile and can be so harmless, it's really sad that uneducated people put this stigma on Herpes.

ETA: Disclaimer: Not that I pretend to know a lot about herpes, either. I didn't know a lot about it until a friend of mine caught it and I was interestend in how it was transmitted. Wikipedia does a great job informing you(general you) of the different ways of transmissions and onset etc.

For me, it's very telling that there have not been any public statements/denials from the family since her story broke. We know they follow this stuff so I"m sure Joshie boy is aware of her allegations. If it wasn't true, they would be screaming from the roof tops, no doubt.

Will her parents double down and work that much harder to make sure she stays or, now that the divorce thing has been breached, will they not try so hard to make her stay?

I think Pa and Ma Keller will fight to the death to keep Anna thinking that it's best for her to stay with Josh and the kids. Anna might think her sister's divorce has more to do with them leaving ATI and living a worldly life than for whatever reasons she has to divorce her husband.

Not speaking about JD specifically, because I don't know a thing about him but I think parents know which kids they can push. I have always had to make a concerted effort to make sure we weren't taking advantage of the one who is more compliant by nature (by orders of magnitude) than their siblings. Otherwise the impulse is to go to the kid who just helps without rolling their eyes, just going along with plans even if they aren't thrilled because they won't want to upset you. If you have a more people pleasing easier going kid like that you have to go out of your way to make sure they aren't getting screwed.

But if you're a shitty parent you lead the compliant ones into your own brand of hell and tend to know how far you can push the others without serious fall out.

Again, not the Duggars specifically - but JB and M have to know with which of their kids they need to pick their battles.

I'm sorry, I'm not having any of this prejudicial generalizing. Not all adult movie stars have stds and not all of them are reckless like Danica! Most of them only get paid for sex on-screen, there is a difference between being an adult movie star and being a prostitute. And anyway, not all prostitutes have stds either. SOME use protection. Having sex for money does not equal having stds anymore. Maybe before, when not enough was understood about protection and the diseases, but nowadays, things are different. The society is different. Anyway, just wanted to say, to Jill's credit, during the Kelly interview, I very clearly remember Jill saying that there was a difference between forgiveness and trust. Which gave me a glimmer of hope that Jilly does not trust good old Josh anymore.

JIll, and Jessa too said that but I believe they also said that when Josh came back after being sent away he was a different person and they could trust him again, or something like that. So I think in their minds he earned their trust again. I can see Anna being encouraged to take that approach too. She'll be told to forgive him and to give him an opportunity to win her trust again.

As for the Kellers reaction to Rebekkah's divorce, I think they will double down on Anna because one divorce is bad but 2 will mean they utterly failed and we can't have that, can we!

Maybe they didn't discuss the roughness beforehand. Like... I imagine, on a porn set, she isn't walking in right when the director yells "Action!" and not knowing what's in store for her. Josh might have even said he wanted to do something rough, but didn't go into details (either because he didn't think he should or he didn't know how rough he would get the first time).

I'm really all over the speculation train today :lol:

I'm horrified on a whole new level when I read that the "rehab" facility will cure you of "post-rape depression." Just when I thought I had read it all and I thought a lot of the description/rules were hilarious......I found something that was horrifyingly disgusting. Puts their whole way of thinking in perspective right away and reminds you really fast how scarily damaging these people are.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the environment that all of those little Duggar girls are being raised in. All of the girls, period. That to deal with "post-rape depression" you need to go to a rehab (behavior modification or religious brainwashing facility) where they treat deviants. Where they'll treat you as such and group you in the same category. Because as a rape victim, that facility is exactly where you need to be.
