Does anybody know much about Praying Wife? She comments on Robert's blog quite a bit and something she wrote recently had me wondering. You guys! It appears she works outside the home!! :o :o And she has a small child! :o :o And stepchildren! :o :o

Nothing wrong with any of that; I'm just surprised Robert allows it. Wouldn't he be ripping apart anybody else who was just a lowly woman but was working outside the home? Wonder why it's okay for her? I guess because she has sufficiently kissed his feet and made him feel all smart and manly.

I'm not sure he's ever done a post about the evils of a working woman. Maybe we can expect one soon.

Right?!

Yesterday I asked Mr. Jerkit, without even mentioning why I was asking, if he thought my menstrual cycle was an appropriate topic of conversation with his male friends. Without skipping a beat he said "are we talking about the guy who locked his wife in a shed?"

In a world where man is put on a pedestal just about on the same level as God, wouldn't it be The Husband's say as to whether his wife works or not? I've noticed that on Lori's blog, too, where she's ranting about working women and someone pipes up that her husband wants her to work (or is ok with her working). And rather than Lori encouraging the commenter ("Submission to your husband in all things, etc."), she comes down like a ton of bricks: "YOU MUST PRAY THAT GOD CHANGES HIM!!!!

Freaking hypocrites.

I've noticed this too. The only time Lori tells women to share their feelings and desires with their husbands is when it comes to staying at home.

Yes, Lady Lydia also had a post or two explaining that husbands who want their wives to work "now that the kids are out of the house" are wrong and unbilbical. I can hear the conversation "please, for the sake of all that's Holy, get a job-- I can't come home to another pink fleece toilet cozy" but NO. While wives are to ignore everything else-- porn, affairs, unhappiness, abuse, marital rape-- if the SOB dares suggest they get a job, they are supposed to stand up to their husbands.

He did conveniently leave out the whole 'lock 'em in the cabin" method of hormone therapy, didn't he?

Also, why the need to keep poking Sheila? Seriously, he is one very insecure man.

Exactly. The sheer douchebaggery of this guy is astounding. He honestly believes he knows more about women than women? Dude, when you've had to experience PMS, pregnancy, labor and delivery and menopause, then we'll talk!

Re: Sheila, I honestly believe CM is threatened by women ... especially educated women. It all boils down to massive insecurity, imo.

As an aside, I agree with another comment that I certainly hope CM is NOT educating those children!

I don't recall glaring grammatical errors in his wife's posts. You'd think he'd have her proofread his writing. Or does she and she's not allowed to point out his errors?

So, my boyfriend gets really, really cranky when he's hungry.

Maybe I should start locking him in the next room when this happens, but usually, I just make him a damn sandwich.

My mom jokingly locked Mr. Jerkit in her basement once when her college basketball team was playing his and he was cheering too much for them. She asked him to get something out of the basement freezer and locked the door.

My youngest kid does this, and because he's still not really old enough to put 2+2 together re: hungry = cranky, he usually stomps around all crabby and mean until someone figures out that he's hungry and starts chucking food at him from a safe distance.

His post about how secular people don't use their kitchens and the men do all the cooking amused me. Unless Amanda has some mystical appliance that I do not, Bob's Doritos come in a bag from the grocery store, like everyone else.

I think he's afraid that if he quits whining about how terrible and stupid and deluded secular people are for 5 fucking minutes, Amanda might get enough peace and quiet to realize that Robert isn't even doing the MANLY stuff around the house. Like, you know, building her some cabinets that aren't godawful. Then she might think about it some more and realize that it's very convenient that Jesus is always on the side of Robert sitting on his butt watching TV.

I've also noticed, Robert, that men who claim to know so much more than women and doctors about women's hormones are the exact same men who claim to know their wives/girlfriends "better than they know themselves". Now there's a big fat red flag.

{L_MESSAGE_HIDDEN}:
I've got an ex like that. He drank all our money and hit me, but always claimed I "wanted to be punished". Yeah, he knew me so well... so well it came as a complete surprise to him when I left him and moved across the country one day.

It turned out that he didn't know me at all. He "knew" what he was projecting onto me. It had never even occurred to him that I had thoughts and feelings and plans and dreams and even friends that he knew nothing about. He didn't know anything about my childhood friends because he never cared enough to ask. He didn't know anything about my work background, didn't know much about my education, knew only the basics about my family. But he thought he knew me very well because all he cared to see was that I was cute, I could cook and clean and sew, and I had low self-esteem. That's all an abuser actually cares about.

LOL @ "secular people not using their kitchen appliances"

Because religion totally has everything to do with how often you cook.

I'm religious and I had chocolate milk for dinner last night. Does that mean I'm not a True Christian[tm][/tm]? But I did make and freeze a lasagna for when my boyfriend comes to visit over the weekend. Submission points for that? I even called him from the grocery store and asked if he minded if I got store-brand cheese!*

{L_MESSAGE_HIDDEN}:
*No, he's not crazy-controlling-- but I guess some cheese uses animal enzymes and isn't vegetarian. I can't determine if Winco-brand cheese falls under this umbrella or not.

Oh, Robbie. Some of us don't need kitchen appliances because we do the work by hand.

(Really, I have a bare-bones kitchen -- partially because it's so tiny -- and I enjoy doing most everything by hand because it's kind of relaxing).

That's how I am. When I bake (which isn't always but isn't never), I much prefer to do it all by hand. I think I have a hand-mixer somewhere, but I never use it. I like the process of mixing by hand and kneading by hand. I think I would use a mixer for something easy to mess up (meringue) or something that take quite a bit of time (whipped cream), but other than that... it's all part of the process which I enjoy.

I’ve learned to love cooking. Both my husband and I have food allergies, so I sort of have to like cooking. We don’t have many convenience foods so basically everything is cooked from scratch. But I do love kitchen gadgets. I really want a spiralizer to make zucchini noodles :D

I frequently use my mandolin to make pseudo-noodles with the zucchini, but I hear the spiralizer gives it that texture and appearance more so than the mandolin.

i'm not a huge fan of mandolins in general, usually for just very specific things, but i like longer noodles and i think the spiralizer will give me longer ones than what a mandolin could.

my favourite and easy dish is i just pan fry up veggies and meat together and make homemade sauce of sorts, usually with an a-1 or bbq or worceshire base (or something similar) and lots and lots of spices and stuff like that. i have no actual recipes, i cook on the fly and just add stuff that sounds good. i swear, my ex's family used zero spice, their food was so BLAND. i'm constantly adding stuff to my food, not even velveeta mac n cheese goes on my plate plain! i love adding cream cheese to it and then cutting up grape tomatoes. so much yum.

*editing to add* i also make awesome bbq really quick...just canned chicken, shredded by hand, and put in a cast iron skillet with bbq sauce and other spices that i like, maybe some brown sugar (if i have some on hand) and minced garlic and simmered for about half an hour. seriously awesome, and so easy and quick.

I'm imagining y'all making noodles with a musical instrument.

I know I'm wrong, but I feel like Googling for more information would ruin the illusion.
