Has anyone else said anything about pinups and nosecone art yet?

No porn in WW II indeed.

Keep praying Lori, your God will never soften hearts because many people know that past eras weren't all rainbows and sunshine. The part about Lori's mom having friends who stayed married or not knowing anyone who was divorced doesn't prove much, because no one knows what goes on behind closed doors and rapes have always happened. Many rapes probably never got reported to law enforcement back then.

My guess is that her mom has a selective memory like many people who get nostalgic for the past.

Wonder if Lori has seen "Biloxi Blues?" That's also set in the 1940s and features a scene where young soldiers visit a prostitute. And how about A Christmas Story, where Ralphie's dad has an (implied) very colorful vocabulary?

I noticed how much Ken's brilliant comment focused on gay people...yes, Ken, there were no gay people 50 years ago, none at all. Tool.

In another thread, I mentioned wondering about whether Ken has ever had any professional backlash because of Lori's blog. Another poster said it Ken has probably lost potential clients/business because of Lori's blog. I think that has happened. Ken's name probably pops up quite a bit in the orthodontic community and some people probably do their research and somehow they have stumbled onto Lori's blog which has tons of pictures of Ken. Some orthodonists have probably backed out of hiring Ken as a consultant.

Ken has only a few female clients for his business, but I'm sure a lot of his male clients would be disgusted with the misogynist stuff he and Lori spew. Orthdontics and dentistry are fields that depend quite a bit predominately female support staffs. Ken deep down knows that his clients would suffer without the woman who work as orthodontic assistants, office managers, and coordinators. Lori and Ken's daughter was working at an orthodontic office, but Lori probably was ok with it because the daughter is unmarried and doesn't have kids. Lori probably hates the married women with children who work in the orthodontic field like the same way she dislikes working nurses who have kids that haven't reached adulthood.

I haven't had time to read this whole thread, so forgive me if this has already been posted.

Ken:

Lastly, I am curious to know how many readers had trouble finding a virgin to marry.

I am curious to know how many readers have learned from Lori's mistake and are troubling themselves not to marry a prick like Ken.

Also love that his statistics contradict both Lori and himself. Gah, can you imagine knowing them irl? How many people do you think talk about them behind their backs?

The fact that crime rates in the United States have decreased is not an opinion. It's not a theological position. It's something that can be measured, and KEN'S OWN LINK shows that there has been a sustained decreased in crime. Can these folks not read basic statistics or figure out how to calculate percentage? It's basic math literacy.

On top of that, I was seriously depressed to see a poster thanking Lori to pointing out all the bad in the world. Really, from both a religious and basic human POV, that is so utterly sad and wrong. Sure, I won't hesitate to expose evil stuff, but that's for the purpose working to make things better, not to convince everyone that we are all doomed. I believe that good exists, and that one of our big tasks as human beings is to recognize and encourage and draw out that goodness [basic kabbalistic theory in one sentence, lol].

I imagine that happens quite a bit. There is a young man who occasionally comments on Lori's blog and Lori confirmed to knowing him irl. That young man disagreed with Lori a couple of times and he called her and Ken out on certain facts and stats regarding healthcare, welfare, and gay marriage. I suspect that Ken and Lori mostly associate with upper middle class white conservative Christians. Ken and Lori have said that they are friends with different kinds of people like liberals and gays. I can believe them being friends with liberals, but I can't picture a gay person being friends with a couple who constantly talks about how "gays are destroying America". I also doubt that Ken and Lori are friends with non-Christians like Jews or Muslims , agnostics, or atheists.

Lori needs to watch Turner Classic Movies today. They are featuring movies about divorce, from 1930, 1932, 1934, 1947, 1951, etc.

Yes, people divorced in The Good Old Days, Lori, and there were even movies about it.
