Yes. It's a common legal strategy, especially when the sentences might not stack or would be served concurrently. It would just create more paperwork for no further outcome. 

It happens in cases of serial murderers too -- you can't really up the ante past "life" or "capital punishment" so when the ante can't be upped, they just choose the ones that are the easiest. 

It's also possible that he knows damn well how bad this is and didn't want to do it frequently and this was the part they caught.

I don't know her, but I so badly want to give Jill a big hug right now and tell her that she is brave and strong and a leader who is making a difference.  As the only victim (that we know of) who seems to be processing her past in a healthy way - and having her own parents treat her so badly because of it - this has to be so upsetting and re-traumatizing for her.

I should apologize for using the word “curious.” I don’t think anybody who ever downloads images of children being abused is anything other than complicit in that abuse. I 100% agree with those who said I was in the wrong.

Probably what happened is that law enforcement was "watching" IP address on a really bad dark web address.  They noticed an IP address from Arkansas access and download images from this web site.  They located the IP address and got a search warrant for all electronic devices at the physical location of the IP address.  Once they seized the electronics they would have searched all of the devices to locate any and all images regardless of when they were received/downloaded.  Sometimes you will hear about people have 50,000 plus images on their devices.  If Josh had more, they would have found it and included it in the charges.

I keep writing something about all this and then deleting it because nothing I can say matches how profoundly disgusted I am by all this. Very little shocks me anymore at my age, but this has done it. I just keep thinking, those poor children. I hope you rot in prison, Josh. For a very long time.

Not today, probably not tomorrow either, but I hope when it's all over there might be some validation, if not outright vindication, for them.

I watched Satan Michelle and her wonderful, satanic husband Jim Bob's interview with Megan Kelly again last night.  The girls and their suffering were simply not acknowledged.  It was all brushed off, minimized, they were told to forget about it and worse still, forced to forgive the person who violated them while pretending it was really nothing at all. There's no question who was important to their parents.  It wasn't them.

So as horrible as this all is, maybe now they can all start to follow Jill's lead and get help sorting things out.  What happened to them was all kinds of wrong. Legally wrong and morally wrong.  And while their parents decried the re-visting of Josh's crimes by the media as causing their daughters pain, they never once acknowledged how their failures as parents led to all of this.

Zoom hearings are typically not open to the public. Why do you believe this person? I have to attend Zoom hearings for work. You cannot just log in.

ETA- not trying to argue but am just wondering what the connection is.

He had figured out a way to partition the hard drive and install Linux on a separate partition, which didn't have the Covenant Eyes installed. So yeah, if you know enough about what you are doing, it's useless.

You are correct, but they are apparently a law student and their recollection is very detailed and aligns with the Sun. The Reddit *is* moderated and this post was verified, pinned, and the user is continuing to provide highly specific information.

Exactly. He is entitled to his day in court, his vigorous defense, and the *legal* presumption of innocence. But I am not in that courthouse so I don't have to give him the social presumption of innocence.
