I just ran through the posts real quick & saw someone else posted a Tiktok about the case but I didn't see this one anywhere.

She is saying Josh is/was telling Anna that the material found was for an old employee.

Whether it's plausible or not, who knows.  But I absolutely expect that to be the denial.

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeVD9KGM/

I can see this being true. Josh is a lying liar who lies. He probably does think he can fool a judge because he’s been able to fool his family/community. He’s never had a real consequence. And I can see Anna believing him. Because not believing him is too horrifying. If she believes him she doesn’t have to worry about her kids or wonder what to do. Everything can be stay the same.

I will admit I’m behind in reading so I haven’t commented on the current discussion but i will say that being against sex work doesn’t mean you are against sex workers any more than being against child labor means you are against children.

That argument only works if you're recognizing children as potentially viable/moral workers. The correct analogy would be "being against sex work doesn't mean you are against sex workers any more than being against child labor means you are against child workers"

But we are against child workers. Because they shouldn't exist. Because they are children. But sex workers (who are freely choosing it as a profession) are not children. They don't need you deciding what's in their best interest.

I mean come on you HAVE to see how paternalistic and condescending it is to compare sex workers to children right?

Some thoughts... it said the material was found on a desktop computer at his workplace. I wonder if he tried to blame it on other people who worked there.

They have a third-party custodian ready if he can't be with his family. I wonder who that is.

They go into this story about how he asked to call his lawyer on his phone during the raid but his phone was taken away from him and then say "While this is neither the time nor the place to litigate possible constitutional violations arising from this incident, [...]" Sounds like they're going to try to argue that this was done improperly.

That is a very clearly written document. And it brings up the point that the government has allowed this to run many months while Josh had access to children so why change now? It also says a third party custodian has been proposed.

Apparently if you believe Duggartok, that's the plan. The ole... wow this was on my computer/phone how could I have known just because its mine and I had the most access to it! I'm innocent, really!

Also, the "Indeed, while child pornography crimes are unquestionably serious, the indictment certainly does not allege that Duggar personally interacted with a single child" angle is gross, although I understand why they're using it.

Does anyone know offhand how many Duggar kids are over 18 without children?  I have no idea how old the howlers are.

I don't like the Duggars but, I have to say, I can't imagine how traumatizing and triggering this news is to his victims.  I feel bad for them but I hope that they reevaluate their parents' toxic parenting and belief system. At least Jill is able to actively process this in therapy but we don't know if the others are getting help. Maybe Jill can somehow encourage it.

It’s likely very traumatizing for his victims having this back in the public eye, but I can imagine it can also feel good knowing he’s finally going to have to pay for his behavior by spending (major) time in prison.

Did they have to announce the pregnancy last week in case of people finding out in those documents (if they knew an arrest was imminent).  Anna's pregnancy is mentioned in the list of who resides at his home.

I'm also wondering if he tried to throw any specific people under the bus. I'm hesitant to name any names lest it sound like I'm suggesting they're guilty in any way, but didn't he have some family members working with him? That would make those family members lose any sympathy for him real fast.

It might. It's not uncommon for that order not to include the offender's own children.

Given he molested his own sisters, I wouldn’t be so sure he’d be allowed around his own children.

If this crime wasn't so serious (like if it was, idk money laundering, or something not illegal but offensive to their circle like the Ashley Madison account or whatever) I'd pay to see them going back and forth over who is at fault.

I really hope not. Would his history be considered though since he was a minor and never convicted of anything? That seems like the kind of thing that wouldn't be allowed in court if it did go to a trial. He did publicly admit to it though.

I’m sure he is blaming someone else but I’m also sure the feds know it was him. He likely paid for it, so they’ve probably been able to verify it was his account that he paid with among other things. I’m sure he’s dumb enough to think he can fool the world because the computer only had 1 user account.

They certainly didn't have to do it with a cheesy 'happy family' gender reveal.

Although Anna thinks the contents of the uteruses (uteri?) of others is her business, she isn't under any obligation to keep us updated on what's going on in hers.

Wow yeah, that would be a less than ideal way to announce a pregnancy. So gross if they were thinking they needed to do the gender reveal fast because the new baby's father was about to be arrested for child sex abuse images.

...do people pay for it? I was under the impression that most people just download it somewhere without paying

Jedidiah and Katey don't have kids yet. (married 22 year olds)

Jana, Jeremiah, Jason, and James don't have kids, aren't married and over 18.

Justin is 18, but lives in another state (Texas).

I'm sure there must be some kind of payment setup but they aren’t using PayPal. I’m sure cryptocurrency of some  sort. It’s probably a membership payment structure.

What about pleading “No contest” to charges? I believe that’s saying I’m not admitting guilt, but accepting this lesser punishment and not risking trial.

I’ve also wondered if he will really plead guilty, or if he will try to maintain his innocence even once convicted just to try to save face?

When one pleads “no contest”, it means you are not pleading guilty, but you do acknowledge that if the case were to go to trial there is enough evidence for you to be found guilty.

Justin, James, Jason, Jer, Jed, and Jana.  3rd party options if going with a sibling.  Won't the new brides be thrilled if they were selected.

I think Justin is probably out, because most likely they'd want Josh to stay in Arkansas, and not cross state lines into Texas. Everyone else on the list lives in Arkansas.

None of them should be put in this situation.  I don't know enough about adjacent Duggar people to know if they have someone outside the family that might do it.

The psychologist, Dr. Todd Grande, that makes a lot of videos on narcissism just released one on Josh Duggar and I'm excited to watch this.

He's about to explain if people like him can be effectively treated. I will link the video below (at the 9min mark where he begins talking about Josh's current arrest):

"Being sorry is not enough to protect innocent victims"

  Reveal hidden contents

Ha! I was just coming here to post the Dr. Grande link. I've been a fan of his YT channel. He has a very dry, subtle sense of humor.
