Hard to say because it’s all classified. From what is in the public domain they certainly had a closer relationship than should be had for someone on the flipping intelligence committee.
 

Pelosi and McCarthy were brought into a room and read into everything by the FBI. McCarthy came out red faced and sputtering, I’m too lazy to look up his exact quote but he was ranting about it being worse than he imagined. That was December and the last I heard anything.

There hasn’t been a House-wide investigation. There can’t have been one. Certainly not in the last five months. This is part of an ongoing federal investigation affecting national security. 95% of the House doesn’t have the security clearance to know the details, so they couldn’t have possibly considered the evidence and made a juried determination. 
 

The House is a political beast. Everyone. Everyone. No one has a halo and everyone hides behind their caucus.

I really hope there is no more coming. The CP is bad enough by itself. Please don’t let there be any abuse of his children or the children he’s been allowed around. I can’t belive they sat on this evidence for 18 months while he was living in a house with so many minors around. That’s just horrible.

I hope Anna will leave him now but I doubt it. One of my childhood friends was abused by her stepfather and even though he confessed to the abuse and was sent to jail her mum stayed married to him. They were not fundie or even a little religious. She had a job and a house and an ex that helped pay for her kids. She had no reason at all to stay with him but did it anyway. So she lived alone in her house while he went to jail and her kids went to foster care. It was really sad.

This in itself is a sexist comment. What, women are so pure and precious they are unaware of the deviant sexual preferences many men have? I’m a senior citizen and I’ve been aware of this since I was a teenager! Like, men are the only ones  who know what the most searched porn terms are? Like we women would find that shocking? American politics is fucked in general and I’m glad not to live there (for many reasons) but having hung out in the politics section of FJ all through 2020, I feel like I can confidently say that you won’t find much support on this forum for defending the Republican Party’s crimes and systemic failings. Whataboutism will get you about as far as suggesting the Dillard kids are no better off than the Ms.

If Anna does decide to stay she cannot have a  ‘normal ‘ marriage as he isn’t allowed near minor children and won’t be ever again. Hopefully he will be imprisoned for 20 years. She could then remain in the warehouse near the help she will need. If she does decide to remain on the Duggpound J-B should at least build a proper house with windows for her. 
The best outcome (IMO) would be for her to hot foot to Florida and make a life for herself near her own family. Her parents aren’t the best but they are her own family. As far as we know they haven’t raised any perverts either.

True, though they enable perverts and that doesn’t make me like them much to be honest. 

I woke up in a terrible mood today (slept a bit more and am feeling better since) and attribute this to Josh’s news from yesterday. Sometimes, snarking is relaxing and fun, but yesterday, it was just plain depressing and I even dealt with some facets of the issues discussed on here in my dreams. What a nightmare for his poor children!!! I can’t imagine how they can grow up emotionally healthy under such circumstances (but I very much hope that they are resilient, will get the necessary support and will somehow manage to be fine!)

I can't believe how many here "called it" and said they don't trust him around kids. Many others kept saying it was only a matter of time before Josh got into big sh*t again, predicting he'd cheat again. He was viewing this in May 2019!  

I wonder if the Keller family is going to feud. I can see Rebekah, Susanna, and Daniel telling their father they want Anna to leave him and the father and fundie siblings not encouraging divorce.

Assuming Josh is convicted, he'll likely (someone posted some statistics on the length of sentences?) be gone for 5 years, at a minimum and up to 20 (or 40?). When released, would he even be legally allowed to be around any minors if they're his kids?

To begin with, that’s a weird priority list to think up, but the idea that children come in THIRD place is truly revolting! I HATE the Duggars’ (IBLP, etc.) theology.

I work in child welfare and have had and currently have many cases like this. I hate them. It’s so psychologically damaging to the victim

I'm curious about this too. I don't know anyone who has been locked up for this recently, their kids were all older and adults once released. The people I know who have been locked up for actually touching kids more recently were allowed around their own, stepkids and grandkids and stuff like that just fine after they got out but obviously on the list so couldn't live near a school etc.

 

That would be absolutely ridiculous if he isn't allowed and they were. Not that I think he should be around kids, but I hope it makes sense what I mean.

She should put her kids safety,  well being first, but she hasn't done it before. It galls me she is pregnant right now by that creep.

I can't get over how ridiculous and gross the pregnancy announcement on Friday was and, now, this.  It's nauseating. After he viewed CSA images in May of 2019, he impregnated Anna. Gross. 

Anna may not have known what he was being investigated for but I wonder if she ever felt something was "off" with how he behaved?

Could the Duggar siblings who didn't know what he was being investigated for be struggling with memories signs of something being "off" about him?  How can they cope with the fact that this creep was around their own kids? This has to be traumatic for the siblings with kids of their own.

Josh was always in the background at family parties taking pictures and videos.

I have been waiting for something like this to happen and I am sure that there is more to dig up. I don't think that someone who obviously gets aroused from molesting children or watching photos or films of children being molested or raped has only given in to his sexual desires twice in his life, once in 2002 and once in 2019. Not a chance.

I do hope the CPS will interview all the children he has been around.

JB and Michelle could probably have prevented this from happening, if they had sought appropriate councelling or treatment for him in 2002 instead of sweeping everything under the rug. They really are shitty parents.

Yeah, as a Christian, I really don't like this article. If you are a normal believer, you don't believe that God is a puppeteer that makes people do things. We can say that Josh is a shitty Christian, among other things, without taking potshots at the legitimate faith practices of many people.

Maybe Smugs can be cellies with a former POS youth minister of mine. After getting busted for SA of a minor the feds also ended up charging him with sexual exploitation of children. Apparently he was posing under fake identities getting underage children to send him explicit photos. I looked him up after Josh’s charges were made public.  He got 30 years in his plea deal with the feds (half of that for the actual assault) and is in a medium security federal facility. I hope Josh gets a long enough sentence that he no longer can procreate, even better if his children are grown by the time he gets out.  IMO, CSA images of children under 12 could not be accidental or a mistake. I hope that even if his shitty family fails to protect his kids the feds will.
