I don't have any idea if he were abused or not, and I certainly think he could have done this with no abuse in his past whatsoever.  It's what happens when you teach boys that girls and women exist for the pleasure and service of men.

I think most women would be shocked by the amount of men who are actually attracted to young girls without offending. The most searched pornography terms are related to teens and incestuous relationships. Then if you take into account the rate of girls/women who are sexually assaulted or abused, you'll find that there are a lot of men walking amongst us who have very disturbing sexual interests.

This. I had an ex who loved perverse porn magazines with teens. Hence, he is an ex.

I also agree with HerNameIsBuffy regarding the entitlement mindset ingrained into fundie boys and men from birth.

Finally, there's a bible verse about this. One that the Duggars probably know well, but obviously do not understand:

Agreed, but teens are not prepubescent.  Attraction to children prior to puberty is an entirely different pathology.

The sad thing is that the Duggars may not be left entirely alone by the media. They may not say anything for a few years, but perhaps in 5 or 10 years’ time they’ll do some “where are they now/what happened to so-and-so” article on the Duggar siblings and their families, perhaps just saying if they’re married or not, how many kids that kind of thing.

My prediction is that Anna will divorce Josh but will stay with the Duggar family.  JB and Michelle will also distance themselves from Josh once the evidence is clear and Josh is incarcerated.  And then JB will try to rebrand the family as a '19 KAC Moving On' type of story line where they try to portray themselves as a big caring family who is supporting Anna and the M's during this tragic time.  Ugh.

The shame of all of this is there is a chance this could have all been avoided if JB&M had gotten Josh proper help when he was a teen.  Not giving Josh a pass on this (his smug ass needs locked up for a long time), but if JB&M had done their job as parents 20 years ago there may not be  countless destroyed lives now.

I agree and I certainly would be surprised if Anna lost custody of her kids. Our foster care system is overburdened as it is and I doubt anyone from the Duggar and Keller circles will sue for custody. I hope Anna will make good decisions for her family moving forward.

I’m thinking 10 and the thing with federal you do 85% of your time before chance of parole.  He could very well miss the birth of M7 and thankfully not be around his kids because I’m sure they can’t visit him.

Which is also because boys in general are taught to see girls as objects rather than as human beings. The misogyny and devaluation of women and girls runs deep. The Duggars certainly take it to an extreme, but it's present in "normal" society too. And that's why I also disagree with the idea that Josh had to have been abused himself. Is it possible? Sure, anything's possible. But there are lots of boys and men who were not abused yet who still commit crimes against girls and women.

It's maximum of 20 years for each count and there are two counts. I'm hoping for at least 20 years.

Rock spider or rocky  is still pretty commonly used. 
I didn’t realise it was so old. I knew it had to be at least twenty years old....
