Me too, that's the piece of trivia in this I can focus on without wanting to vomit.

I honestly don't think it was from the arrest because it looks to be 2-3 days old.  Slight swelling but not nearly as much nor as red as it would be fresher.  But not a week because no yellow I could see.  I could totally be wrong, I'm not a bruise archivist or anything.

I’m thinking of Joe Duggar (along with of course the countless victims) and how upset he will be. He always tried to be the opposite of Josh and if I remember correctly was let down by his older brother’s other “less serious” issues (now we know were very serious). I wish Joe could understand how his cult protected and enabled sexual assault/rapists/etc but I doubt he will.

Alright, I'm almost thirty pages into this shit. I have to vent.

As a childhood sexual abuse survivor and a rape survivor, I am sickened. The way the Gothardites have tried to keep everything in the dark.  Disgusting.  I am concerned for THE CHILDREN.  Period.  Hopeful that all of this finally being fully exposed will salvage the M children and what's left of the younger Duggar children.

We all know what fundie life does - the repression, the legalism...the shame.  It is an atmosphere of abuse on every level.

That being said, I find myself wondering:   is it possible that Josh also suffered some type of sexual abuse himself as a child?  (fixing this for Admin; apologies; had no idea this was illegal)

 

I know it doesn't matter: JB and M should've gotten him help years ago.  But I still wonder.  Monsters like this are created.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but you can't state that as a fact.   If you want to change the wording on speculation I'd appreciate it.  Otherwise I'll redact it.

And there is a correlation but some people do become abusers without having been sexually abused themselves.

It's definitely likely that he was abused himself and I've wondered the same. I also wonder about mental health disorders in the family (Michelle comes to mind...). I think there are links between narcissism and pedophilia.

It was closed after 30 pages.  We tend to keep threads to 20 pages but due to the activity on this one we're going to around 30.
