I'm well into my second glass of wine, so even though this is going to be unpopular, hear me out:

If this goes where I think it's going (Boob spends a significant chunk of the family's money on Josh's lawyers, the Duggars no longer able to make $$ on the IBLB circuit, no more Counting On)

If so- I feel bad for Jana and Jessa. *I know, I know, I sound crazy*

- it appeared that Jana was courting, and was maybe about to move on with her life. I feel like her 'season' or whatever just was destroyed.  Her choices are not my choices, but I know what a big deal courting and getting married is for women in her lifestyle, and this is usually the happiest year of their entire lives.

- Jessa's been living in a shitty house all these years, not earning her own paycheck, despite having a major hand in the show's popularity.  As someone who watched from the very first special- Jessa's bit of snarkiness in her childhood, and her looks in her late teens, was a big draw for fans. And now she's going to see the financial security she thought would come her way some day, be pissed down the drain to defend the brother that molested her. Whom she defended to keep the show on air.  Despite not getting a direct pay check.

(It goes without saying that I feel terrible for Josh's kids)

Yeah its gunna be shitty to see the money that all those kids worked for pissed down the drain on josh. Its not only the older kids that worked for that money its all the way down to Josie having fits for tv profit. Josh is getting enough money spent on him just feeding and housing his wife and kids. Those kids are entitled to not lose money to that pig and unfortunately they will.

I also wonder if Stephen will get cold feet now if indeed he and JAna are a thing

I think people are reading to much into him being held without bond...as others have said, he was picked up by USMS for another federal agency, so the bond decision will be up to whatever agency issued the warrant. He wasn’t denied anything.

Yes, get out, Anna. Don't name your baby girl Mercy. Instead name her Madashell....little bit of Madison, little bit of Michelle, and a whole lot of mad-as-hell.

Great name, adds a little bit of "US Marshall" too.

Agree. If, after his hearing, the court orders that he continue to be held without bail, THAT would significant.

I hope they and Anna have gotten some decent support today.  Yes, Anna is where she is because of her own choices but she and the kids are bearing some of the burden of Josh's choices.  Her phone has probably been ringing nonstop.  The kids, depending on where Josh was when the Feds arrived, may be traumatized and needing answers that their mom doesn't have.  I hope they don't need to go out anytime soon because I imagine the press are lurking by the front gate and around town, seeking any caliber of scoop.

If it is serious enough that Josh can't see or be around his own kids, I would think he would end up in federal prison for a long time. Anna won't be living with him in prison.

If it's a financial crime, I could see many other family members involved.

I know someone I would be willing to set up with Anna. He's a divorced Catholic with debt problems, but he's clean legally and loves children (in an appropriate way). He deserves any downsides to marrying into this family.

After 12 bazillion pages (I had been in the middle of catching up with J/A when the news broke) and here's my contribution on speculation:

1. Human trafficking with the Marshallese stuff. As such, I wonder if JD is involved at all. While JD himself doesn't seem like a pedo, he does give me intensely bad feelings in regard to viewing all women and minorities as chattel.

2. CP stuff, although I'm also in the camp that I didn't think Josh was a true pedo, I thought it was a crime of opportunity and had he been provided with healthier means of expression (including privacy/masturbation), he likely wouldn't have done it. As such I have two minds:

a. that he actually is 100% a pedo and I was wrong.

b. That as someone else suggested, he's dumb and was downloading huge drops of porn and some contained CP and he got caught up in it.

3. Financial crimes, in which case I'm wondering about what other family members are involved. If MedicCorps is involved, it could take down a huge number of Duggar and Duggar adjacent people, in regard to being accessories to any given crime.

Other than that... A family member was locked up for almost a decade and I've piqued his brain endlessly about it. He says that the wife/elderly/child abusers are all constantly given a rough time and people will skip meals in order to avoid sitting at the same table as them, but that in his experience prison rape doesn't really exist; there are enough people willing to bone that it's not a thing.

There are plenty of white supremacy gangs for Josh to join, and so even in gen pop he's likely to have some level of protection.

Conjugal visits, however, are a thing, and so expect Anna to still get knocked up regularly if she doesn't actually leave his heinous anus.  Edit: Conjugal visits are apparently not a thing in federal prison, nor in state prison in Arkansas for that matter. Still, regarding Anna: she's an adult, she votes, she found out exactly who she married and had the opportunity to leave, and so if there are other crimes beyond cyber, I consider her wholly complicit. I believe 'failure to protect' is the CPS term.

Finally: LOL Jeremy and LOL Jilldo.

Finally up to date on the thread and really I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said.

It's almost 2am where I am, so I think I'll head to bed. I'm working from home tomorrow so it won't be a problem to refresh Freejinger between one or two emails.

I kind of understand Jill and Derick's ''it's sad'' sentiment (though the speedy comment makes it appear a bit attention-grabby, I agree with previous posters who said so). Jill Dillard must be in an akward position right now. After growing up as Dad's favorite (Jillymuffin), she has been somewhat shunned by him, simply for questionning how she's been raised and choosing a different path for herself and her kids. Yet her own abuser was fully part of the fold and accepted with open arms.

Of course, with Derick's law degree almost over, things are looking much better for them finiancially. If the whole Duggar finances crumbles, it won't affect her. Her distance from the family will probably also help her keep up her blogging, Youtube and Instagram and be more easily let off the hook than the other siblings.

We have no clue how she feels about that but I doubt she's gleefully rejoicing either. Because despite her rift with JimBoob, it appears she has kept somewhat of a close relationships with Jessa, and Josiah (She seems to see Jessa on a more frequent basis than her other sibling per her Instagram and wasn't she present at Bella's birth?) and she was present at all of her siblings recent weddings. So I assume she still has affection for them and doesn't wish for them to lose most of their income. Same for the M kids. Even if she's less close to them, they are her nieces and nephews and I doubt Jill wishes them to be in this kind of crap. Hence the ''it's really sad'' comment. I suspect they are thinking about the people who'll be affected by this.

Damn, this was like a fucking FJ Bat signal, huh? I was in the middle of a meeting and I was casually, covertly pulling up twitter and thinking "I can't wait to get on FJ for this".

I feel like if Josh was committing financial crimes we'd know. Either he'd be keeping the money because somehow JB wasn't involved, in which case he wouldn't be living in a converted warehouse in Daddy's backyard, or in the much more likely event that JB was involved, we'd see a noticeable change in the Duggar standard of living. I'm not talking about the kids, or even the married kids, but JB and M would be all over the place with their inappropriate PDA. Whenever their finances have seemed to improve, we've seen them suddenly investing in things to make their lives easier. Commercial kitchen, in-law suite for their babysitter Grandma Mary, date nights, less tater tot casserole, etc. I mean they aren't as in your face about it as say, the Rods, but I've definitely noticed that they splashed out at the height of TooManyKAC, seemed to drastically reduce their spending after Joshley/the police report caused their show to be canceled, then slowly seemed to increase it again as they got the go ahead with CO and that got more popular.

I could be totally off base though. I mean I desperately hope I am since I strongly prefer the idea of it being financial crimes to anything else.

Who will Josh be allowed to speak to before 11 AM (Central Time) tomorrow?

I'm guessing JB, at a minimum, will want a word with him.

If it was financial and Josh was smart enough (not likely) a) to pull it off b) keep Money hidden it would be a sad cracK up if he was funneling the money away to fake his death and disappear or just pack up and leave with the cash to do so. (And I mean all this without Anna and the kids).

Finally caught up with this, best news to wake up to. As I understand, it will probably either CP or a financial/tax crime.
I really hope it’s something big financially. Of course because it means no children involved but also a lot because it will probably involve more family members. I am really ready for half of this family going down.

I see in the midst of this Kendra and Joe have posted new photos of their family and Kendra is doing an instastory shilling the dental tool that Jinger was selling a few weeks ago. When life throws you lemons, make lemonade...

I think for Josh the worst thing about appearing in court is that he will have to wear a mask and appear on time. He’s pretty much got away with other misdemeanours so I imagine he thinks he’s going to walk away from whatever this is. Never underestimate Duggar arrogance.

Anna will hopefully learn that her ‘little Duggars’ brand isn’t happening and go private on social media for the sake of the children.

Oh to be a fly on the wall to hear a convo between Amy and Jill. I think they may be the most no holds in their commentary.
Anna and Josh would just be her crying telling him she loved him. Puke.

It sucks for the M-kids. I don't wish any child the type of childhood where Daddy is locked away in jail.

I lost sympathy for Anna a long time ago, but I'm sure it's been a rough day for her. I hope she can keep her focus on making life better for the M-kids right now. I also hope that she finds the strength to make good choices going forward. Should this happen to be a crime against children, I hope that she isn't forgiving and forgetting.

I'm very curious about the crime itself. While I don't want any child or children to have been hurt in this, I am having a hard time seeing him as smart enough to pull some sort of money laundering, tax evasion, etc. scheme with the SOTDRT education. I also think he would be considered low hanging fruit since he didn't actually own the car lot. Most financial crimes that I can think of that would involve federal agents are things an owner would do.

I guess it isn't all that shocking of a happening. He's certainly the laws are for others type.

Of course this had to be the one day when I don't check my phone (I was driving for nine hours across the country)... I check FJ before going to bed and now I have sixteen pages to catch up on!

This messes up yet another one of my 2021 predictions, where I said that TLC was going to started featuring Josh and Anna more. DAMMIT, JOSH! I'm never going to win the predictions contest at this rate!
