She did more pottery practice time. I think a STAHM has every right to have a hobby and it's great that she's making room for it...but holy budget buster! She's spending a whole lot of time and money on this! Obviously I expect she will likely lose interest in this pretty soon like she seems to do but in the meantime.... who's got the kids? Are they paying a sitter? How much does the wheel time and clay cost? And they just bought a power washer AND air compressor?  I guess Mark is selling a lot of couches lately.

I did pottery classes at a community art center for a while and it was not too expensive. A six week course was a couple hundred dollars but that included a large block of clay and unlimited access to glazes.  It also included access to the kiln storage before and after firing and open studio time. Just access to open studio was $60 a month and included clay, glazes, kiln firing, and access to open studio. Ultimately, I stopped because I ran out of space to store all of my misshapen vases and bowls, and I couldn’t give them away to family members anymore.

Sierra’s corrections of her son’s work were not good. She added in wayy to many commas, just like she does in her ig posts. Sad to see that she’s passing that on to her kids. I’m glad people called her out in the comments for that though, hopefully she takes that into consideration in the future.

Oh wow! I totally assumed it would be a pay-by-the-hour thing and expensive as heck. That's pretty cool.

I don't know why I typed most turn 5 in prep, that's not true.  Most turn 6.
Our schooling is as follows;
Kindergarten: The year they turn 5 (generally). This is all about play and socialisation. I believe Americans call this Pre-K?
Prep: Our school year runs from Jan - Dec and they must turn 5 by the end of April to enter prep. So students start at age 4 or 5, but the majority turn 6 in prep. This year focuses on the foundation skills of reading, writing and mathematics. Handwriting is taught but in a print script. I believe Americans call this kindergarten?
Grade 1: Most turn 7.

In the US, kids are generally age 5 by October for Kindergarten (turning age 6), and for 1st grade they are 6 turning 7.

In Kindergarten, my kid practices sight words and reading in English and Spanish, simple addition and subtraction, handwriting, plus art, music, and physical education. A critical factor was socialization.

In 1st grade, my daughter has a heavy emphasis on literacy (reading and writing in English and Spanish) and math. They are not teaching cursive at all, just practice of upper and lower case block letters with proper spelling. Reading is generally be at DRA levels 12-16, and the kids are expected to be able to read aloud without much help. Math involves simple addition and subtraction. She also has classes in science, art, music, and physical education. This is all taught remotely this year over live zoom, given the pandemic, from 845-315 daily.

Don't worry...she posted some nonsense about feminism in the Bible meaning God didn't make women go out and be strong and brave looking for him and "that's equal rights she can get behind" and I snapped out if it ?

Sometimes she posts stuff like her live about pottery class and she sounds like a normal stable person who would be a really supportive friend to have. Like, I feel like she's the kind of person who would not allow her friends to beat themselves up about insecurities and would be a massive cheerleader when they are feeling down ?‍♀️

What can I say? It's a pandemic and I miss my friends and I bet she would bring me tacos ?

I can agree with all this. For the most part she seems like a genuinely nice, caring, fun person to be around. Then she’ll ruin all that by calling herself mommy girl or thinking she’s a black savior by talking about BLM for all of 24 hours.

We could also use a friend who brings us tacos.
but one who approached with a horde of children, calling herself Momma-Girl, and probably spouting fundie nonsense would make me want to just get my own tacos ?

Sierra is very crafty, its a shame she can't be a school volunteer or a scout leader. But I agree I want to know how she pays for these lessons--and the plants--and that new porch swing. And we know that her parents live at least an hour away in Missouri, and I don't think his parents are local. And she is always carrying on about how Mark works long hours. And she doesn't have daughters old enough to be sister moms. So who is baby sitting these kids???  How do they afford all this?  I don't think she makes much (not counting a few free articles of clothing) as a social media influencer. And since we know they rent-- why don't they forgo all these frills and save more for a house?  Are they massively subsidized by her parents? Or do they have massive credit card debt? Or both?

PS I don't even see her trying to sell MLM stuff anymore on her Insta--like the lipsense lipstick she used to push.

At this point I’m almost starting to wonder if they have some kind of shady side hustle that we don’t know about. All this stuff doesn’t come cheap and I can’t imagine Mark is making a fortune selling furniture. People just don’t buy THAT much furniture since it typically wears out so slowly. It’s either that or massive debt. I’d be surprised if their parents were financing their lifestyle.

I like her. It's taken me awhile to admit that. She makes some questionable decisions. And she's digging herself in deeper. But she really pours herself out over her kids, giving them big birthday parties, getting the kids to all play in the dirt, taking lake vacations. She is way more invested in their education than any other fundies I follow, and my impression is that she'd be like "listen, I don't like your feminism, but whatever, you do you."

Sierra posted a video of herself making a pot where her mask is below her nose the entire time. A commenter called her out on it and she replied that it slipped off and her hands were too dirty from wet clay to push it back up. ?

Here's an idea- if your mask is ill-fitting, you should probably wear one that doesn't endanger the health of everyone in the enclosed space around you!

Don't bring the tacos in on it...
The tacos are innocent and delicious. They have done nothing wrong.

To be fair......when she shows off taco delivery it has just been porch delivery with no hoards of children coming in too ?

I wonder if that was a promotion from the taco place that she did not appropriately disclose or if it was just another one of her whims that she gets excited about and then drops. A lot of people with her personality type (not just fundies) get excited about a thing and go full tilt on it and then drop it once the new wears off and move on to the next thing. She's chasing a high. I wonder if she does the Enneagram train...what would that make her? A 7?

So... Her hands were too dirty to adjust the mask, but not to manipulate the phone?

Also, I've noticed it's easier to rescue the mask before it slips rather than after. If I tuck my chin and scrunch my nose I can push it back up without touching it when it starts to slip. (I really need to put a nose clip in those particular masks...)

Don't a lot of people do that? I bought some fiber equipment this year for my hobbies and suspect that while I like those activities the use will be sporadic.

Sierra and her family attended/helped with a wedding and she posted this disturbing caption. Bear in mind her oldest daughter just recently turned six.

She is just as toxic as the rest of the people we follow on here.

JFC there is so much more to life than getting married at 18 and contributing to the overpopulation issue.

Yikes Sierra! You and I definitely have different opinions of what a 12-year-old looks like. To me your girls do not look 12.

And even if they did look 12, I still would not make the connection of a 12-year-old and ' getting married soon'

*lol* Sierra would have fainted if she'd seen my daughter at 12, first experiments with make-up, bare midriff and all. She's mostly grown out of it again, but there were a number of times when I had to tell her she couldn't leave the house like this.

I'll never get over how fundies go straight from infantilizing their kids to pushing them into adulthood far too soon. They soooo love to pretend that puberty doesn't exist. And yeah, there are other things to look forward to except marriage. *eyeroll*

Those girls do not look 12. I don't know how old they are, and maybe they look a bit older than their actual age because of the hair and the dresses etc. But certainly not 12.

Also why 12? It feels like such a random age? And definitely strange to see this weird inference that they look 12 so yeah we are thinking about them getting married. Why not " our girls looked so grown up...it took my breath away to think that one day they won't be littles anymore. Definitely got choked up thinking of the beautiful young women they are becoming."

I get it weddings are weddings and make people all sentimental. But this post is just strange. Not strange by Sierra standards though.

I think that for Fundies, twelve is the last year of childhood. At thirteen, the girls should start wearing makeup regularly, doing their hair, and should start looking at GYM, in preparation for a courtship/ marriage at 18-20.

Why the girls when they're so much younger than the boys? Why not look at her oldest boys, and think of what fine young men they're becoming, and how one day soon they'll be going down the aisle with their own brides, and what great husbands they will be?

I think in this instance it was because the girls were part of the wedding party and got to walk down the aisle, and the boys were just wedding guests.
