Josie and Kelton 6: So Boring I Couldn't Find a Funny Quote

Shes due in June? Sounds like shes as far along as I am which is 15 weeks due at the end of June. Meaning she may have announced later than many fundies typically do, I.e not while the pee stick is still wet. Understandable due to the previous miscarriage.

I suspected she was pregnant not because of her body or clothes, but because of her New Year’s caption on Instagram. It was about God being faithful and bringing her and her little family through. For regular people, that might mean emotional healing from grief. But for fundie parents, that seems like code for/a precursor to a rainbow baby.

I wondered because of the photographer coming in to do a session with them and CarVan.  Possibly gender reveal photos.

I would like to congratulate Josie and Kelton for not saying they were surprised to find out she was pregnant. She may have in other posts or stories or whatever, but for a change that wasn't the first sentiment about having a baby.

Right! This always gets me.  You had unprotected sex and probably a lot of it. You're young, in fertile years.  Unless you have reason to expect infertility, you have no reason to be so surprised you got pregnant.

Woohoo! I already have one right on the 2021 prediction lists !

Per Josie’s Instagram stories, she is expecting a baby in June. They are thrilled. At least Willow will be almost two and will have had a reasonable amount of one on one attention from her parents. Really hope that they have a long gap before number three is on the way.

I predict an October 2022 birth for #3

They seem to have conceived on her first or second cycle after the miscarriage, so in this case they really could be surprised.

It’s nice to see at least one fundie acknowledge otHer people’s difficulties. Josie is not a pet fundie for me but she is one that I can tolerate more than her sisters. I think she is one of the first sisters and fundies other than Jill duggar that has shown a glimmer of thinking outside the box. Ahem Carlin and her April fools day bAby take note.

I think she got pregnant on her honeymoon, and again when Willow was less than 1 year old, so she shouldn't be surprised to get pregnant again in her first cycle.

I cannot handle the basic beige "rainbow" she used for this post. Fundie gals and instagram influencers alike, beige and coffee are not personality traits.

On Instagram, she said she is 15 weeks along so basically less than two weeks behind Withney, do you think we will see many bumps update together (like Withney and Erin) or they are not so close?

Whitney doesn't deliver early usually right? So they will deliver near the same time but not too close hopefully

When was this?

Isn’t it a bit early for gender reveal?

She is seeing a genetic specialist so she may have had more extensive testing including sex.
my sister refused a amino (25 years ago mind you) because she didn’t care and wouldn’t abort anyway.
If they are so pro birth why see a genetic specialist. I don’t meant to sound insensitive but they have only had one miscarriage. Don’t most drs wait until there is multiple ones before testing or is that not the case anymore.
how extensive do you think their genetic testing goes?
I paid for the blood test for sex and chromosomal and genetic stuff and knew I was having a girl at 14 weeks.

I think Balkas may be very worried about everything related to pregnancies and births, due to Kelton's mom death. I agree with you that a single miscarriage is absolutely normal and no need for specialists, but if Josie and Kelton (or daddy Balka, who looks caring) has the money and they all feel safer that way, better for them.

I hope Josie and Kelton have a little family. She loves quiet and he is scared abouy births. Two kids is a good number.

Duggar Data said they already know the sex. Josie could be seeing a high risk doc for any number of reasons. Maybe she experienced first trimester bleeding, her placenta is in a position that increases her risk of complications, etc. I’m currently 12 weeks and seeing a high-risk specialist bc I had a blood result that indicated a risk for later placental problems so I have to be monitored more closely. High risk OBs often require genetics panels too, and genetic counseling, even if you wouldn’t terminate under any circumstance. Again, some issues just require more monitoring, sometimes prenatal interventions can be done, etc.

It's common to do blood tests now and you can find out the gender early - I'm due around the same time as Josie and found out at 11-12 weeks, already told my whole family the gender in December. You dont need to see a genetic specialist for that, just a regular OBGYN as part of a genetic screening blood sample which are common now for most pregnancies, dont have to be high risk.

A comment on reddit fundie snark floored me about Josie and Kelton's love of beige, that for the gender reveal it would just be different tones of beige instead of blue and pink. I love neutral colours myself but you need a splash of bright and pastel colours as well.

Yes! No matter if the baby is a boy or a girl, the outfits and nursery will be brownish/beige.

I love neutral colours, but Josie is over the top.

I told my own daughter this earlier this week, “the beige, coral, Dijon mustard yellow and olive of today are the baby blue, pink, yellow and green of years gone by. “ It’s no longer unique, artsy or edgy. Also the knit knickers and hats, so over it all-

I know Josie likes her neutral colors and aesthetic, but maybe she chose the the beige rainbow to also distance herself and her rainbow baby from an LGBTQ+ type of rainbow baby? Just a thought.

I think Josie is alergic to colours haha.

I recently saw a nursery for a baby girl, all in beige decorated with a beige/brown rainbow. Which isn't a rainbow at all, but an artsy arch. Rainbow needs its colours to be a rainbow. There is no option there.
