Dillards 82: Derick Spills the Tea

I am a labor and delivery nurse at the Catholic hospital. I haven’t been a nurse for super long yet but I haven’t seen care refused in a tricky situation - but I wouldn’t doubt that it happens. My hospital set up is really ridiculous in my opinion. We have a building attached to the hospital that is a separate entity and anything like tubal ligations, hysterectomies (that aren’t emergencies), or vasectomies take place in and 0R that technically is in the adjacent building. Victims of rape who want the morning after pill are treated in the adjacent building (although the patients don’t really know this because they basically built the building into the hospital so that it’s seamless). My insurance through them does not provide birth-control coverage for me and I was mailed a separate birth control coverage pill. It seems like a lot of effort to do everything the Catholic way and yet they still do everything else just in this other building that’s “technically not the hospital”. I definitely rolled my eyes when I learned all of this.

I had my second c section in 1982 in a Catholic hospital. I had my tubes tied after they saw that Wolf boy was healthy. I had ask if there would be a problem, and the doctor said they could get around it. I had great care there and the nurses were helpful in getting breast feeding going.

I totally agree with your thoughts on her perspective. I just wonder if she had been forced to go to a shelter or “worldly” option if it could have changed her perspective.

it's also worth noting that some companies send product to influencers without influencer contact. They may be stepping up that game as well.

So they’d be happy to do media & appearances? Hardly keeping a low profile while they heal. Derick has created a wave and is now riding the crest of it for profit. Any sympathy I might have had is evaporating very quickly.

That’s so strange how differently the various Catholic hospitals treat life threatening emergencies. I can think of at least 3 women that I know personally, who had surgeries for ectopic pregnancies at my local Catholic hospital. Absolutely never a doubt in anyone’s mind that of course they would do the procedure. It wouldn’t occur to me they would turn you away any more than if you needed your appendix out!  They even suggested a therapeutic abortion to a family member with out of control hyperemesis (she turned it down) . The only thing they don’t do is tubal ligations- so you need to go to another hospital for that, but that’s expected.

I think this is how most people I know would have handled a similar situation. Well, as close to similar as non-famous, non-multi-property owners, non-fundie people situations can get. 
The main difference is the Duggar’s could have afforded to financially support Anna and kids in a home out of the main house. But I could see her wanting both help with all those kids, and the security of people being around.

Being cynical it also isolated Anna from anyone saying her children may not be safe. Had she left and considered divorce she might have been advised that unsupervised access with a family that considered sibling molestation normal was unsafe. Not to mention they seem to hang out with other sexual deviants ( the engagement party for the convicted rapist, their child porn cop friend). By keeping the children in the house she’d find it very difficult to to remove them from the Duggar influence. 
In the meantime of course all their assets are sold off or transferred so on paper anyway Josh cannot support her.

One of the biggest and most bogus tenets of Gothardism  and JimBoobism Is this notion that one doesn’t or shouldn’t have a work centric, money providing JOB. The 2nd generation was taught that work is a 4 letter word, and that they are above having to provide for themselves. The in-laws, once entrenched, seem to become infected with this notion too. They’d certainly receive less slack if they provided for themselves before attempting to takeover society as a whole. At the very least, some of the Bates and Austin do work aside from the shows.

My first thought on the new P.O. box--and the multi-Insta-pic declaration of contact information independence from the Jim-Bob mothership (it's my recall that the Dillard's former contact info was 'care of the Duggar Family at the Duggar family's Tontitown P.O.)--is that Derick is a) taking a significant step away from communication governance of Jim Bob; and b) declaring himself open to offers from media agents (book publishers, for example) and others interested in his tea-spilling for a price. And if grifter freebies come along too, great.

That P.O. box is a big move on the Dillards' part. He's made is really really (big-duh) obvious that he's open for inquiries and negotations. And it comes after Derick spilled tea and hinted that he has more to spill.  I hope he and JIll talked it over before he spilled tea, since he's further jeopardized his wife's relationship with her family.

Exactly! Derdick is poking the JB lion with his veiled threats and cryptic tweets but he best be careful to not get in over his head. A little legal knowledge can be a dangerous thing. In a money game, JB will wipe the floor with him and leave Jill and the boys in a real  Duggar pickle.

I don’t wish them any crank parcels and I certainly wouldn’t waste my money on them. My wish is that they open every envelope in the hope of a book deal, cheque or even a sushi gift card and find a dull letter from one of their fans telling them how right they are to be transphobic etc. Or better still, begging them for money.

Maybe someone told him that hog is slang for penis and the image it conjures of a giant penis in a suit giving a closing argument isn't super professional.  (I would watch that cartoon, though.)
