Lori Alexander: 64: Continuing the Sardines into the Next Generation

The no car insurance kind of blows my mind.  No. 1 how many flags are there on his license right now (assuming the car is registered)??  DMV fines can be expensive.  No. 2, what's he going to do if/when an accident is more than a fender bender??

I'm going to assume he rents or  flat out owns whatever they live in. Had he a mortgage, the bank would all over him for dropping home owners insurance.

I grew up with no dental & I'm paying for it now- literally & figuratively. We must have been on Medicaid of some sorry back then because we went to a clinic for annuals & if we got severely ill.  This fellow is playing with fire, if he's legit.

Lori is such a privileged jackass.

It'll be zapped in no time, so here it is for posterity:

Quote

The Bible teaches us to use wisdom in all things. Going without car insurance, which is illegal, shows a lack of wisdom, respect for others who do have insurance and adherence to the authority. If you get in an accident, and you are at fault, you will likely lose what little you do have.
Not having appropriate dental care can have dire consequences later in life. Advising people to give up basic necessities of life is foolishness. Running water isn't a luxury. It's a basic hygiene issue. This page is allegedly run by a woman who claims to have godly wisdom, but I question the recent advice she has given.

Or becoming celibate for life!  I would have had I witnessed by parents LOL :eyewash:

Liam was the one who said he controlled the money and gave his wife an allowance. I swear after that he was on TGWS and noted he was essentially trolling, but I can’t find it. He does occasionally like comments that push back against Lori. I hope he’s a troll.

Hannah Habig is back under a new name- still has Habig in the last name.

I hope you're right. When I think of kids not having access to even the most basic of dental and health care because the parents are just being stupid, I cringe.

I knew a kid whose mom was a nurse. He didn’t go to the dentist until he was 6, I think, had so many cavities. You can take care of your teeth all you want but stuff still happens. I have deep groves in my back teeth and all of them have had fillings.

When the leghumpers ty to out frugal each other and brag about how they live on stale bread, air, and rain water I want to scream. There is nothing fun, noble or godly about being busted ass broke dirt poor.

They aren't frugal they are stingy as hell to live their dream of SAHM, but others are paying the price. But they need the approvale of someone like Lori telling them they the right thing by living that way and their sacrifices for living the biblical womenhood. Because deep down a lot of them know that what they do is not going to work anymore, but didn't reach the point of realising it.

Lori says god never calls anyone to a church that is clearly in rebellion to his word. They didn’t have church buildings in the Bible. They met in people’s homes. How is feeling led to a particular church by god rebellion? My parents always prayed about what church they should attend.

how would Lori know what most bible studies do? Has she taken a poll or a survey? Nope she is assuming. Even if a women is going to a weekly bible study to get away that’s okay! It’s okay to not want to be around your kids/family 24/7. I know I didn’t want to be around my family that much growing up. My mom went to bible studies and out to eat with friends and I never felt abandoned or upset. I even got invited sometimes when I was older.

Yes some bible studies have booklets that accompany them. And sure some are false teachings. You have to be selective of what you read. If you don’t want to use a booklet you don’t have to.

As others have pointed out some people go to the Bible studies for moral support. My mom went to a windows bible study group at her last church. She has also gone to group bible studies as well as women’s only. Some she liked and some she hated and left.

We were given brains for a reason. Use judgment in all you do.

For point 1. Lori would shit her pants at our church. The dress code rule is "please wear clothes". We have people with tattoos, blue hair, single parents, gay couples, queer and trans people. Ya know what? They're all loved and accepted and wanted and part of what is a reasonably large family (we ain't quite right but we got a lotta love). She'd hear mild cuss words in the lobby, people smoking outside, ex-cons, people trying to get sober, and nobody says anything negative or looks down their noses at them.

Bible studies - we have a number of small groups. My husband and I both belong to one. My group...oooohhh...a bunch of shameless, alcohol drinking, loud laughing, hugging and praying women. We have a bond, a love there...these women are like my sisters. We laugh and cry together. My husband's group...similar dynamic only I don't think they're quite as loud and rowdy as we are (we're like attempts to herd kitty cats).

Lori could not, for a minute, understand that sort of bond, that sort of LOVE.

Long time lurker, first time poster!  I was blocked by Prophetess Lori on Facebook and Instagram sometime last year.  A couple of weeks ago I discovered that she's been posting more on Twitter (including things that don't get published anywhere else) so I created an anonymous handle to share dissenting opinions there.  No surprise, she finally blocked me on Twitter this morning.  It was fun while it lasted!

@hollyfeller it is easier to block people who prove you wrong than to admit you are wrong. When your whole premise for your ministry is proven wrong you have no ministry. She could admit defeat and do what the scriptures tell her to do but she won’t. She could run a wonderful ministry of actually teaching what Titus 2 says but she doesn’t know how.

Above is all from the same post. Sex on vacation is okay but having sex in front of your kids, sleeping or not, isn’t. Feeling like you have to give your spouse sex or he will cheat is not okay. Cheating on a spouse and blaming lack of sex is not okay. Victim blaming is never okay.

@Lgirlrocks I am a divorced, childless, LGBTQ+ friendly, professional feminist.  Everything that Lori hates!

ETA: I realize that "professional feminist" should be two different descriptors (I'm actually an engineer), but I'm going to leave it as is because I wish feminism was my full time job!

As opposed to the people who read Lori's page, which contains... Lori's interpretation of [her favourite two verses of] the Bible.

and most of these women they are learning from mix in false doctrine

Unlike Lori, who is inconsistent, judgmental, hypocritical, and just plain nasty.  Exactly as Jesus commanded.

They could start a charity similar to the “sponsor an impoverished child in a foreign country” organizations.
ETA:
Picture a grandfatherly spokesman beside a young girl:
”This is Caitlin.  Caitlin is eight years old and lives with her mom and dad in a modest house in the suburbs.  Caitlin’s dad has a good job and works hard, but in today’s economic climate, it just isn’t enough.  So her mom has to leave the home every day and go to work.  Caitlin comes home from school to an empty house. Her mom is often too tired to cook, so dinner is usually fast food or nuked in the microwave.  And you never know what’s she’s learning in the secular public school system, not to mention from television in the hours she’s unsupervised.
But you can help change that.
Through the Keepers at Home Fund, you can sponsor Caitlin or another child and relieve her mother of the stress of working outside the home.  She’ll have the opportunity to cook nourishing meals from scratch, direct her education, and model her role as a Biblical helpmeet(over scenes of shopping/cooking/homeschooling).  You’ll receive a photo of your sponsored child and monthly updates.
For more information, go to keepersathomedotcom, and prayerfully consider becoming a sponsor.  Give Caitlin and others like her the greatest gift:  their mom at home.”
(That didn’t come out like I hoped.  Feel free to improve it. [emoji4] )
Oh, no - don't doubt your abilities. I could see this very clearly and hear the voiceover in my head like it was real. If Scamaritan is somehow a reasonable thing for fundies, then why couldn't a fund for keeping women at home ...? [emoji848]

Except Lori would never part with her butter money.

It's kinda a hippie-dippie church, where the sermons are focused on practical things, blending in popular culture, and how to live as a Christian in a greater world unfriendly to Christians (no persecution, just the sour taste that the fundie idiots have left in people's mouths). It's realizing that Christians are called to be the hands feet, ears, eyes and mouth of Christ in the world now, and how judging anyone is not going to do anything for them...reach out in LOVE...everyone is made in the image and likeness of God...so, treat everyone in just that way.

If you want to PM me your general location (city), I might be able to help you out...

I think it needs a longer scene of home-schooling in which a mature godly matron teaches young Caitlin about 10 minutes and lube while caressing a pipe of plumbing line. Raisans optional.

I have never been to a women's Bible study. I did attend a church-sponsored event for women. For one of the games, the person leading the event singled me out and said, "You're too young to know a lot of these." It was true, but I was hurt. I was peeved at the fact that the speaker's "main points" was be an influence in your home [obviously as a wife and mother]. I left that event feeling depressed and inadequate because it is something that I want, but it's not in the cards right now.

The only way for the Titus 2 thing to work is to understand that women are not going to be wives and mothers right away, even though someone like Lori want women to become wives and mothers as soon as they are physically able to. Sometimes, Titus 2 works when people don't have to try. The other day, I interviewed one of the ladies from my church for a project. She's 80 years old. She talked about wanting to be a wife and a mother growing up and how she was so happy that her dreams came true. Her main point is to make sure you know Jesus. I learned much more from the interview than I ever would reading any of Lori's posts.

Thank you for putting into words what I was thinking all day yesterday. She has the audacity to post pictures of her expensive cosmetics, supplements, ingredients, etc. but shames other women who work to feed their kids peanut butter sandwiches.  I don't begrudge anyone anything....but she is rubbing her wealth and privilege in the face of all the normal women whose lives are nothing like hers and then telling them they are doing it wrong and "hate God." . She is the 1%.   I'd like to see her live like that one fangirl Beccy...with seven kids, husband in and out of jail, living in a basement.

I thought about Beccy yesterday. I was gone for two days visiting an ill relative and another relative was telling me about how his sister-in-law's boyfriend is in jail for a DUI. They have a toddler together and the sister-in-law is refusing to work and she uses different excuses like she doesn't trust babysitters, daycares, and that the little girl is too attached to her.

I agree, there's no way Lori would be able to live like Beccy or some of the other fangirls. She wouldn't be able to take having to buy food at discount grocery stores, clothes at thrift stores, and other places. She would be miserable as fuck.

A family friend who is a dentist has talked about how some people have bad dental genetics and weak enamel which can cause problems even if people take good care of their teeth. Other health issues can have negatives on teeth and gums. I have an aunt by marriage who used to brag and brag about how she didn't have any cavities and how dentists used to praise her for her teeth. About ten years ago, she went through a breast cancer bout and had rounds of chemo. The chemo caused dental issues and she ended up getting a root canal a couple of years after her cancer bout. Then last year she had to have an infected tooth extracted.

Women's groups:

Ours meets at a local hippie-dippie restaurant (Skinny Fats). There's everything on the menu from vegan/gf to full on junk, a nice selection of IPAs, "organic" type sodas. The food is to DIE for! My favorite is something called "More Cow Bowl". We sit and talk and laugh and talk some more and occasionally look at the book we're using, share food, have a drink, lots of hugs and we even throw in a prayer! We take the big table for awhile. We start about 6:15 and keep on going. We have married women, single women, "professional" women, at home women, with kids, without kids, grown kids. Not a single one of us are up into that Titus 2 crap. We're all loud and proud feminists and progressive/liberal pro-choice folks. I told them about Lori...I won't repeat what was said, it was rather blue.

But, here's the thing, we don't need to be the mealy mouthed, milquetoast, subservient little mice that Lori endlessly expounds upon. We're amazing women with amazing lives and can see the blessings of a job, of a little extra money in the bank, and times of wanting/needing. We're strong, and even when we feel weak we have our group to hold us up. God knows they've talked me down a few times since this whole cancer thing started.

Well, tomorrow's Sunday and I can't wait to see my friends/sisters. Lori wouldn't know how to act in that sort of environment.

I’m pretty sure social workers are interested in your children if you don’t have enough money to properly take care of them. 0AAB21A2-3F74-4D1F-A17D-9363E81D49E3.thumb.jpeg.b1c3da7e13bcd865f0c9e668c32241a7.jpeg

Lori I know this is hard for you to hear but I would have loved to have had my dad stay home instead of my mom. I loved spending time with my dad and didn’t get to that often because he worked two jobs. He was there for everything he could be.  I have never really gotten along with my mom. We loved very modestly but my mom still worked. It was only part time and my dad was with us during the time.

If you can stay home with your kids and still give them a decent life, everything they need and some of what they want, great. If you can’t great.

Pondering the sex on vacation, and I apologize if someone mentioned this upthread, but I would wager many of the devout leghumpers can't afford a vacation of any sort.  Even locally where I live it would cost a family of 4 almost $100 in admission fees to go to Global Wildlife which would be a day trip.  Why is she focused on sex on vacation at the same time she's telling them go without running water if necessary to be a keeper at home.  She's so transparent in trying to go viral.
