Well put.  My mom used to say intelligence isn't knowing everything, no one can.  It's knowing what you don't know and knowing how to get the information you need.

I think this is a critical place where fundies fail, and fail HARD. The more sheltered they are, the more afraid of "the world" they are, the more limited their media (books, internet, etc.), the less likely they are to be able to figure out things. I can't count the number of things I have learned to do, make, or fix by googling tutorials and watching youtube videos. But if you've been brought up taught that the internet is a den of porn demons, that reading anything other than the bible or a few selected christian authors is "tempting satan", that "worldly" music is of the devil... how in the world would you even know what you don't know? It's like everything is a brand new discovery, for them.

Even in the olden days pre-internet, you could go to the library and find information and learn how to do things. But if you're taught to fear anything that isn't obviously not only christian but the right kind of christian, how will you ever learn anything?

I think the Maxwell family JUST discovered the Google a couple months ago. They were amazed, even with a heavy filter on their internet.

Knowing your resources and how to use them. Jill's toolbox is empty and she doesn't know what to do about it.

No - their now defunct ITonramp (or 1 ton ramp as we like to call it in Maxhell) was charging people money to teach them how to use google years ago.

Even women - although the verbiage took insulting to a whole new level.

I worked on the scholarship badge with the boy scouts. They all knew their way around the internet to get information, and they also knew that it might not be correct. Can you imagine googling for the first time and having no way of finding correct information? It would be overwhelming.

I’ve never heard of this. Do I have to turn in my New England card now? :pb_lol:

I grew up in New England, and don't know this brand.  I do know however that Wednesday is Prince spaghetti day

No recipe for pumpkin oatmeal, but today I did put pumpkin in my morning smoothie...a little bit of pumpkin goes a long way.

I loved these commercials - I have not seen them since I was about Anthony’s age.

Wow! Flashback Friday! Wednesday was Prince spaghetti day in both Wisconsin and Massachusetts.

Regarding pumpkin, I give it to my dogs. Helpful recipe - open can, plop a spoonful of pumpkin in each dog dish. Mix in dog food. Is it Pintrest worthy yet?

Caught up with this thread, a bit late for the Mayo/miracle debate.

How many people have eaten this? I used to dip french fries, potato chips, make potato salad, even dip pretzels in this...

No lie, it's been years since I had it, but if I had a jar right now, I'd be tempted to pig out on it.

Pinterest worthy is irrelevant. Is it ready to be uploaded to the blog by 9:15 am CST 11/8/18?

It wouldn't surprise me if he wants to, but I think JB and the good old boy fundie network could make him think twice.

If Derrick is a good student he might be learning how to shut down the network. Not that I think he has the backbone to actually shut that club down.

Why would Derick want sole custody of the boys? He doesn't seem to care that much about them.

To screw over the Duggars. It isn’t out of love for the kids but to hurt the others. I of course don’t know if any of this is what is going on in Derrick’s head. He just seems like a very pissed off person and he seems very vindictive.  Which is what makes me think that when he hits that breaking point he’s going to be out to hurt everyone.

I think the Kraft brand was slightly pink back in the day, or a beige color? I haven't seen let alone eaten it in years. Some people say it's like thousand island dressing, but it isn't...for me at least.

Damn, I'm craving it now. Hey, Jill post another slapped together recipe, so I won't be craving food... LOL.

The best thing I've learned how to do from the internet is pick a lock. I lost the key to an important filing cabinet at work and it saved my ass to get things out of it while waiting for a replacement key to be sent. A few months later the company was going through their storage area that had more locked cabinets in it and they sent me over to try and open them, fun day for me!

Yeah, it's similar to 1000 Island but not the same.  I know exactly what you're talking about.

I've never heard of this brand, but this is the color I think of when I think sandwich spread.

Speaking of weird shit we spread on things in my childhood, anyone remember this kind of cream cheese like spread that came in a glass jar and had bits of pineapple in it?  My mom used to fill celery with it...for the life of me I can't imagine what it would be called.  Celery filler?

I'm not crazy, this was a thing.

Found it

I remember the cream cheese but have no clue what it was called either. My husband likes celery filled with this weird cheese spread. I have tried to find the cream cheese stuff to show him the proper way but can’t.

Kraft Foods use to make various cheese spreads that came in six-ounce glass jars that could be used as juice glasses when empty. The “Pimento Cheese” spread looked very similar to Thousand Island salad dressing in color, so that might be what some of you are recalling.
