I know better than to turn my back on you, SEK. (ooh, your acronym just kinda defrauded me)

:icon-wink:

Have I mentioned today that I really like horses, and I would like to go riding again before the end of 2012?

I keep trying to make friends with someone that owns a horse so I can go ride, but they don't seem to exist around my neck of the woods, dammit. I desperately miss riding.

This was my reply to a spam thread (by virklorry), but maybe I dicked up replying somehow? It's kind of an awesome thread, though. Like, what if I just totally lost my mind?

I'm currently looking at my Spam Folder and it could've been worse

-Special internet prices! No prescription needed!

-Super DISCOUNT. BUY NOW VIAGRA...CIALIS!!!

-OVERNIGHT online pharmacy makes a good offer of cheap Cialis

-Grow your penis Naturally, safely and permanently

Sometimes I wish I was clever and could make a blog snarking on random junk mail. I have responded to one of those "I have a bank draft for you, send money to receive it" e-mails. That was a lot of fun.

LOL, MTK!

Spam is great sometimes. I got a whole sequence of them where the spambot thingey had just used a random thesaurus to fill stuff in. "I was smallest and dolls used to sriek at me in federal comfort station! Then I took Sup.A.Dik and now my dick is dreadfully weightier than world!"

It was so much fun. I was going to start a blog to post the entire saga of me and my friend James (the spammer) but I never got around to it.

I'm resurrecting this thread... I've been getting into folksy music lately, so when my husband saw these guys on a business trip to Atlanta, he knew they'd be right up my alley.

What have you been listening lately?

Today's shuffle has dealt me some Perry Como, Joni Mitchell, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Solomon Burke, Tom Waits, Glenn Miller, Leonard Cohen, misc. live Dead shows, some live Neil Young and Lady Day, Gogol Bordello, Floater, Ramblin Rex and Dylan. Thats all I can remember so far :D

I'm always listening to the Dead, but lately I've been on a KISS kick. My favorite bands/musical artists/composers are the Dead, Led Zeppelin, Gershwin, Rush (pre-1982), the Rolling Stones, Bach, the Police, Frank Zappa, Aretha Franklin, Vivaldi, and a few others that I'll probably feel stupid about forgetting.

We've got tickets to see these guys next week (for the 4th time - their live show is awesome)

mwKI-8f7Zfc

And this is my fave of their songs right now (but a crappy Youtube video)

Haven't seen these guys live yet, but I would love to next time they come within driving distance.

4CzsnuQTA1Q is one of my favorites.

From the DVD, they put on a hell of a show. But a couple of the guys have been doing solo projects lately, and it gives me the feeling (hopefully wrong) that they may either take a break or call it quits at some point.

Then there's the lovely Loreena, who we finally got to see live a few years back (she stopped touring for 10 years or so)

And these guys (I own almost every album, about half on vinyl)

YqD-injaqLI

And the rest (mostly) of the Canadian section of my CD rack

UG3ExHB133k (Their bass player did the music for Due South)

and

2Wye2XkLbBk

And of course, the Energizer Bunnies (50 years, still going strong)

UBc3sWRPxaY

(Now we'll see if the links all work)

ETA: Blast! And I'll have to fix it later - gotta go pick up the kid from his last day of preschool.

ETA again: Links fixed, kindergartener home from school. I got there and found possibly the saddest playground ever. Eleven crying kids and a very sad teacher. The pre-K kids, on the other hand, were as happy as ever.

My new favourite singer Kimbra. She's a mixture of Lady Gaga's quirkiness, Adele's blue-eyed soul, and Katy Perry. Maybe a bit of Portishead & Gwen Stefani thrown in too.
