Cilantro tastes like soap to me.

When I make rice, I sometimes add a shot of lime juice to it. Gives it a little zing. Other times I add butter and salt. It depends on what else I'm making.

I haven't figured out what Mr. Xtian doesn't like...he won't eat Taco Hell because of the results, not because he doesn't like it. But, other than that...well...he'll eat it! His kids were picky eaters, probably because their mother was a shitty cook. My kids have a few things they won't eat but I don't think they qualify as picky.

I like okra,in any form :fried,boiled,pickled etc.

I like cilantro...one son and Mr Melon won't touch it,the other son says it tastes like soap.

I have tried chitlins, years ago. They have a Chitlin Festival somewhere not far from here, yearly.I wasn't impressed with them.

They also have a Grits Festival, every  year in a town ,again, not far from me.I love grits..with butter,salt,pepper..and Cheese Grits with bacon...but I would never eat grits with sugar, honey etc.

I have never tasted sushi and have no desire to do so.

I do not like sweet potatoes or yams, beets, green peas or cantaloupe.

I am not crazy about eggs.I do not eat fried eggs.Scrambled are okay.I like poached eggs.

I don't like chick peas but I like hummus.

I'll pretty well try anything once if it's done "right". cooked by someone FROM that background. I do tend to shy away from pork (it's a texture thing) but will eat ribs at ONE place in Memphis...

I love grits, love sushi, not sure if I'd had okra (not from the south).
The only things I won't eat - pork products (with very few exceptions), pate (tried it before I knew what it was and hated the taste THEN found out it was pate - gag), veal, lamb (lambs are too cute!) and green melon. And I probably wouldn't willingly eat bugs.

I'm a pretty adventurous eater, though I have Oral Allergy Syndrome, which limits me somewhat in terms of fruits I can eat raw, and I don't really like quinoa that much. I also am not the biggest fan of mayonnaise. It's fine if it's used for thickener/texture (like in deviled eggs) or as an aioli where there are some more flavors involved, but when it's the main event, I think it's pretty icky. I also cannot stand ranch dressing. It's funny: I've eaten (and liked) boiled frog, tripe, cricket, fish stomach, and congealed pig blood, but I think ranch dressing tastes like Beelzebub's semen.

I used to have a lot of foods I dislike but it's very few these days. The big one is paté... I try it regularly, fancy and cheap, but I just can't handle it. It feels like eating stinky wet velvet, if that makes sense. I wish I liked it though! It seems like a really rich food to be into.

I don't like octopus or squid, they're so rubbery. I only try them when the recommendation is really through the roof, and I still haven't had a yummy experience yet.

The cilantro soap genetic thing is soooo fascinating to me! I like cilantro, but I'm embarassingly bad at telling it apart from parsley (unless I'm eating it).

The only food I limit for medical reasons is tomatos, as they've triggered ulcers for me before (but only if I eat a lot of tomato every meal for a couple days.. which, apparently, I do when left to my own devices).

As far as pap goes, I've never heard of it before now but I'd certainly want it with lemon. Lemon is easily my favorite food though- I'll eat it on anything. I even got a tattoo of a lemon slice recently.

ETA: I like okra, but pickled okra can be hit or miss for me. It's intense! Fried is always nice though.

That's the one.... no where else.

I ended up telling a co-worker about it when he went down there. He ate there two nights in a row and then STOPPED for a few boxes of carry out on the way to the airport.

The whole idea veal makes cry and I would not eat foie gras for the same reason but I enjoy going to gourmet food and wine festivals whenever I can and have enjoyed almost every thing :)

I don’t like sharp dressings and sauces on pasta, salads, etc. or very spicy food.

I dont have have a sweet tooth so Ice cream, pie, cobbler and all that is not worth buying. I can do cake though.

A good juicy well cooked  piece of meat, mash potatoes and almost every fresh veggie is what I love. I enjoy watermelon and adore fresh pineapple and raspberry’s.

@melon, you must live near Salley!  Isn't the Chitlin Strut held near Thanksgiving?  The old black music circuit was the Chitlin Circuit, btw.  The circuit was composed of theatres and clubs which were welcoming and safe for African Americans to patronize during the days of segregation.  The Apollo Theatre in Harlem was the most famous venue.

I don’t like coriander/cilantro; I dunno if it tastes like soap, it just doesn’t taste nice to me. Not tried okra. Chitlins sound nasty af.

I like most things I guess. I’m not a fan of spicy stuff; if I have Indian food I tend to stick to the mild stuff like korma or tikka masala.

Rendezvous ribs are the best. Period. Bar none. That dry rub, though.

The Duggars just posted this for J and D’s anniversaty. Looks like Derick grabbed Jill as well at Joy’s wedding. From the tv footage it looked like Bobby had walked her but I guess he only helped her down the stairs of the altar.

Derick can’t stand to see her with other men, even if it’s for a 2 second walk st her sister’s wedding. He’s so controlling

What a fucking douche he wasn't part of the wedding and he needed to respect J and A and just stay in his fucking seat. Bobby is looking like he's thinking what the fuck just happened. I doubt Bobby went and took his wife. (Sorry blanking on Austin sister's name Is it Megan?") From her escort.

@church_of_dog, I know what soap tasted like from when my brother and were blowing bubbles once before school and I got some of the soapy water into my mouth.  Then there are those like Ralphie in A Christmas Story who know what soap tastes like because their mouths were washed out with soap.

I used to eat fiddleheads. Haven't had any in years.

I can't believe some of what I used to eat, cod tounges, moose meat, liver to name three things I will never eat again. Even f I wasn't trying to be vegan, I wouldn't eat it.

My mom called swearing "grown-up words", which hilariously backfired when she took me and my sister to see My Fair Lady at a movie theater that showed classic films, and when Henry Higgins started saying "damn, damn, damn..." at the start of I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face, my sister (then 3 or so) yelled out "MOMMY HE'S TALKING LIKE A GROWNUP!"

Thank god she didn't take us to Pulp Fiction.
