Thank you both! I meant Paraguay .  Momentary lapse. I don't know whY I thought Darth was in a Carolina. I remember when Andrew's house was built. I had thought that it was always on the farm .  I didn't realise he had moved it. Wes and Rachel also used to live on the farm, right ?  And Michael jr had his house there too, right? So, their house are just vacant now?

Wes & Rachel and Michael & Kressant did live on the compound, in houses they built. What is happening with them now is a mystery. Never mentioned by anyone. It's not like they can go on the market and be sold. I've wondered what is up with the houses myself. Maybe they're being saved for the next happy couple? Maybe Sam & Alyssa are in one? Wes & Rachel were already in Paraguay by the time they got married. Or maybe Katie & the kids are in it? Then there is always the barn apartment that Cleve spent his newlywed months in. 

There are lots of places on the property to live. Clearly they really were setting up a compound. But, then, well, I guess that didn't work out so well.

Wasn't Andrew's house moved onto the compound too?  When they were given it for free and shipped it with a police escort, and Addie had a blog about how that corner used t be called X hill and now's it's Andrew's Place?

The apartment - that was in the barn, right, that had 2 temporary apartments in it for visitors/while the menfolk built their homes?

I am pretty intrigued by the Calathora plot, and if I knew where it was, I'd be looking on google earth to try to work it all out.  My guess would be that maybe Katie and her kids have move into one of her siblings' homes?

It took me less than 2 minutes to find it: you know Calathora farms, Michael Morton, that gives you the address in Google and then you can look at it....

Except for the parts of the family that stick together with Katie and her kids... oh, wait....

I do wonder if all this is making the Captain reconsider his views on passing over headship for his daughters to their husbands now?  Even if he was 100% right, and the husbands are 100% wrong, the daughters should be following the husbands' lead, maybe praying for them to change their minds, but definitely backing up the husbands publicly.

I know we've talked about this before, and re other Fundies too, but it's one of those things where the Patriarchs have one stated view, but when they realise that means they're not the ultimate authority in their daughters' lives, they throw a fit.

(Please note, I'm not at all suggesting the adult Smith daughters are supporting Katie and the victim/s because of their Morton husbands - I'm sure they're doing it because they feel it's right - and I applaud them.  It must be super-hard for them, brought up as they were, to have this big family disaster, and then have the parents throwing their weight around and being obnoxious)

This is the real risk for them - the kids become even more isolated than before, especially as the other big family groups they socialise with become verboten.  I really hope the kids still at home are allowed to stay in touch with their siblings.

Bret posted about kids honoring their parents. I can't see it as anything other than his passive aggressive whining about his adult offspring who have done exactly what he raised them to do - become their husband's wife, no longer belonging to him. He raised them to bend themselves to their husbands. How he can expect them to do his bidding now is beyond me.

Oh, except, this is Bret Smith. Of course I know how he can expect that. He is the great and powerful and perfect Bret Smith who thinks himself so all important that he can just breathe and his adult kids will do as he wishes, even when it contradicts all he bloviated about for years.

I can't image life in the Smith household. Those poor kids still stuck there. They must have whiplash from watching their parents jump through hoops to justify themselves while they shame others, even as they contradict a lifetime of doctrine. 

The crazy is going to get to them and they will sink. Hard.

This may be it. There are a couple of houses on the main road and something like six more about 3/4 mile down a dirt road. Spacious!

That might be the oddest post I've seen her write. She was bit less than her usual sweet self in places. The comments about the "creepy hippie woman" and then the 3rd to last picture .  Who was that and why did she call him "dreamy"?

I don't actually know anything but for some reason I always think they are on his grandparent's farm. Martha's IG has had mention of grandparents being around-and not when either family was visiting. He was 18 when they got married and she was pregnant a couple of months later. I can't imagine they just up and moved to a farm in Indiana?..there has to be a familial connection.

Thanks @fundiefan for the property link.  I feel like I might be veering into stalker territory by asking this, but do we know where the property boundaries are?  Also, would be they be able to swim in those ponds around the place?  Also, what would they grow on all the bare earth, or is that where land's been cleared? 

All my knowledge of USA farming comes from Little House on the Prairie (where this one crop will solve all your problems, so it's a shame it's eaten by locusts/rained on so much it drowns/hit by an unseasonable hail storm/destroyed by a random hot wind/burnt down by prairie fires, and so on...), so I know nothing, but it doesn't seem like there's been much ploughing there...

I remember that post was discussed here in real time and I'm pretty sure the creepy hippie woman was Adeline herself. I don't know about the dreamy guy, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was meant to be sarcastic.

I asssumed that it was meant to be sarcastic but that's pretty against the type that she and the other ladies are supposed to be.  I'll have to look closer at the picture of the woman. In general she seemed to paint every one with a sweet rosy brush so this seemed unlike her.

Jackie must be on a fb break since she hasn't posted since 8 days ago. She normally doesn't go a day without posting. 

 

And im not surprised by Bret's post about children not abiding by the 5th commandment due to political differences (lol). It's not political differences asshole. It's the fact that you protect and make excuses for your son while burying your head in the sand.

I think Jackie is licking her wounds. She went on a posting streak to show how either great or stressful life is, all the while praising her god for his hand in everything, blah, blah, blah. At the same time, Bret was waxing poetic about god specifically talking to Jackie and giving verses and blah, blah, blah. 

All leading up to Thanksgiving. Then, boom, nothing. 

I'm guessing their passive aggressive Facebook whining / rambling / drama making / god love us best crap did not accomplish what they wanted it to accomplish.
