I agree that Josh did more than just talk/e-mail.   But unquestionably he also got e-mail and chat through AM that satisfied him, or he wouldn't have signed up twice, so he must have gotten some fem-bot "action."

You are right that he almost certainly didn't meet (m)any adulterous women through AM, but he may have had at least one real hook-up through the site. (I believe AM also had call-girls involved, either as subscribers or on the AM payroll.)   Otherwise, even if he had had other affairs, he would not have been as likely to "confess all" after the AM scandal.   I could see him saying that all he had done was watch porn and chat with women through AM but that God had watched over him and kept him from real physical infidelity.

I believe that it was fear that the AM hack would reveal more specifics that led to the larger confession, complete with Satan's fortress in his heart.

Still, I love the idea of Mr. Canned Christian Response Josh chatting away and getting all aroused by a Canned Response Sexy-Woman computer program.

He did physically cheat with someone else, still, right? I didn't get behind and we learned that was made up or something?

Because this is what's been horrible about it to me, that I can't get out of my head: the "joyful offering" of the wife to the cheating husband. Even in normal spousal relationships, that's super difficult for people to work through. You put so much trust in your husband or wife through intimacy, and in her case, believing she's meant to totally give herself up to the headship...being (likely) told to do that in order to make your relationship better after he got it on with some random chick in a hotel must just be so disgusting. It's no better than assuming the Clan of the Cave Bear position.

You can forgive, but you can't really forget. And all that questioning, "I wasn't enough for him" awfulness, because she was taught she should be...leaving her feeling either totally inadequate for her husband or ill at the thought of touching where someone else touched, etc. Or both.

They can have a "make up" baby. People often do, and manage to carry on from there. But she can never have what she was told she must and would have, with that guy. So I hope somehow that it doesn't happen.

As much as it pains me to say nice things about him, he does look leaner, fitter and more tanned. So Prayhab must have done him some good physically.

All the comments along the line of 'it is so good to see Josh' make me uneasy. Do the leghumpers have any memory of why Josh fell from grace or do they just overlook the molestations because god?

Also, Josh did travel a lot, so he could have met some people while traveling to other parts of the US for events!

Ok, what the hell! I see atleast two barefoot children.  YOU ARE IN A PARKING LOT, in public, about to go into a restaurant.  Is it really too much to ask the Duggars to put shoes on their children?

Did Chik FilA vet these "costumes"?   I'm sorry but a white t-shirt with a few black splotches is NOT dressing up as a cow.

I made the mistake of telling my kids we could go to Chick fil a yesterday, not knowing this was happening.  It was a fucking zoo.   The cow costumes were much like these pictured above.

I not only had to endure the shitshow crowd of cow costumes, but to add insult to injury, I had to pay for my food.

The things I do for my kids.

I already avoid Chick-fil-a because of the company's anti-LGBTQIA+ donations and general fundy-ness. If people give this company the same treatment they've given other companies that are associated with this horrible family, I won't be upset.

Just a quickie question. Is chik fila or whatever its name the fundie version of kfc?

Chik-Fil-A was founded by S. Truett Cathy in College Park, GA in the 1940s. Cathy was a devout Southern Baptist and created a corporate culture based on his interpretation of Christian values, which includes not opening restaurants on Sunday. CFA is popular in general in Georgia, because the Cathy family is very generous with their money. Everyone knew that the Cathys were conservative, but it didn't really mean much until the same-sex marriage controversy several years ago. In the end, I don't think it hurt CFAs bottom line because most people simply don't care about ethical issues, and it's not like the other fast food places don't have ethical issues of their own (disclaimer: I'm vegetarian and have not eaten at CFA in almost 17 years). Despite the conservative corporate culture at CFA, I am certain that a good deal of the rank and file workers are LGBT, simply because it's a huge employer in the South and probably a pretty good place to work if you're a rural LGBT youth who migrated to Atlanta or Charlotte and doesn't have a lot of education or employment options. This was why I was uncomfortable with the CFA protests that were happening in the restaurants, because the real problem was the Cathy family's beliefs and the organizations they donated to, not the rank and file workers.

CFA has done a lot of work in many unsung ways to help out when disaster strikes.  When we had an ice storm that paralyzed Atlanta, they handed out food to stranded motorists.  Mcdonalds and Wendy's closed up shop.  After the Orlando shooting, they opened (usually closed on Sunday) and distributed food to people waiting in blood donation lines.  The Cathy family may have some views I find abhorrent, but the company his hired LGBT+ youth and dont seem to allow their personal views to bleed into corporate culture.   I do love me some hate chicken.

He confessed to infidelity, so it is safe to assume he was unfaithful.  The question is whether he met someone to be unfaithful with through Ashley Madison or not.  I suggest that he probably did perform an act of infidelity with at least one woman he met through AM because otherwise his confession in the wake of being outed as a subscriber to AM doesn't make sense.  It was surely fear that more would be revealed that caused him to confess. (Or did he see the AM thing as a sign from God? Was he consumed with guilt? )

Anyway, we can't know what he did, with whom and how many times (and it really isn't a productive kind of speculation). But the fact is he confessed and you are right that it must be horrible to be a fundie wife who not only can't refuse her husband but must embrace him joyfully even when he has been unfaithful.

No.  It is delicious chicken sandwiches.  IDGAF if it is fundie run.

The best thing on the menu, the chicken salad sandwich, they removed. It makes it easier for me to boycott CFA because that was the only thing I liked.

I actually like their nuggets, but I hardly ever eat fried food for health reasons.

As for the boycott, though Cathy does not hide his opposition to gay marriage and there are donations to all sorts of conservative groups, Chik fil A will also donate money to LGBT groups, especially when connected to universities, and Chik fil A restaurants have donated food for gay pride parades, etc.

As self-proclaimed Christians go, Cathy seems to live by his beliefs more than many others.  The Duggars could take lessons from him.  That doesn't give him a pass for his anti LGBT stance, but let's recognize that he tries to walk the walk of Christianity, not just talk the talk.

I am definitely NOT the most healthy person.

I love fast food sometimes. However this Chick Fil A does not sound like my kind of place. My money will never go to bigots. No thanks.

I keep trying to watch those videos about what they put in fast food to see if it stops me wanting to eat them.

Whether or not they are true, who knows? I still want a double cheeseburger from McDonalds. :my_rolleyes:

I hear what you're saying: points for consistency. Compared to the Duggars, that does seem more honorable.

A stopped clock is right twice a day though.  A few nice actions like the food for folks in Orlando do not negate the desire to turn our country into a theocracy in which LGBTQIA+ people, women, non-Christians, Christians who aren't the "right" kind of Christians, and others would be denied the same rights as straight cisgender Christian men.

Hence why I wouldn't go there.

Josh and Anna seem to be pretty ok with each other...  They are standing together, leaning towards each other with the children on the outersides (if that is even a word). Looks to me like she has forgiven him totally and welcomed him back. I just hope they have a real discussion before a new little miracle is created. If he doesn't want more, and she insists, things won't be good for long.

Must say too, that I am happy to see him holding the baby and getting to know her finally.

I still can't believe someone would fuck Joshie. He's boring as fuck. Not that cute. Doesn't have balls to tell daddy Bob to fuck off. But I guess I say this for a lot of scandals where men cheat.

Never had Chicken Flick whatever it's called. I don't have one here. And I don't like chicken so I'm not missing out.
