Now who ever accused any of the Duggars of being smart? Maybe money and publicity smart - but common sense smart? Naw.

question...would am have accepted an anon prepaid card? it would logically make sense, but we all know not everything follows logic in real life. not all websites do accept those. hell, a couple don't even accept my prepaid card that i had to use my full name, address, and ss# for identity purposes in order to get!

Snipped for the part upon which I want to comment.

As a Psychologist ( meaning I have a PhD. in Psychology and am licensed to practice clinical psychology and have done so for a decade), I would like to strongly support VR's comment above.

It is wrong to speculate on Josh's or Anna's likelihood of suicide or other self- harm with the revelations that are now being made public.

We absolutely do not know what the two of them have discussed or when.

Also, there's a very thin line between " wondering" if someone is suicidal and "maybe hoping" they are in a situation like this. Josh has done NOTHING to endear people to him in years, if ever, so it's understandable that he's not a sympathetic character. Still, no one deserves the " maybe suicide" talk.

Likewise, people need to realize this is a snark site, NOT a support a Duggar site and talk about what JOSH has done, not how someone perceives Anna to feel about it. We don't know what Anna knew or knows, or how she feels about anything. We may never know.

Quoting this in agreement. To bump it up in the thread, I hope this gets does get incorporated into the limits of the site speculations.

So just to be clear, what enrages you about this is he disagrees with you on flag burning?

You have fucked up ideals if that's the thing that you find most appalling, And I suspect FJ is split probably 50/50 on flag burning, so I find it odd you decided this stand needed to be taken here.

And yeah, lots of us have military families. And I think it's a pretty big difference from personally spitting on a specific persons grave. :eyeroll

I'm late to the party, but I agree with you. First, the flag does not belong solely to veterans: it is a symbol of our country and belongs to us all. Second, flag burning is a legally protected form of free speech. This free speech should not apply only to certain beliefs. Third, my father, sister, brother and tons of other family are veterans or in the active service.

I would shocked if they accepted pre-paid, for security purposes. I don't have experience with paying for sex, but I recently moved and when we were looking some houses were self-showing. We had to register online with a credit card for a $0.99 fee the first time just to verify you were who you said you were. Or at least they could track the person whose credit card was used to get the access code to enter the house.

Pretty awesome system, actually. And I can imagine for liability reasons a place like AM wouldn't accept pre-paid - because they want to verify age as well as people knowing they are on record with contact info if something breaks bad and someone gets hurt.

It's not but it's something I decided to point out. You also REALLY need to grow up and watch your language, learn to disagree respectfully, it's not that hard.

Flag burning is a form of political protest and is protected by free speech. Having "family in the military" does not give you any sort of birthright connection a fucking flag, which nothing more than a symbol. Stop being so sanctimonious. And your last sentence was beyond uncalled for and simply proves you are a sanctimonious prig.

So far in comment sections I have seen all of the following:

--His email was hacked.

--Identity theft.

--He was doing research for the FRC

--Everyone sins, so it isn't anyone's business.

--Liberal people sin worse than this.

--(And, naturally...) Why aren't they doing stories on all the evil famous liberal people who surely had accounts?

Has no one tied it to abortion yet? Disappointing

Any news of fundie responses yet?

Also, for those who wonder how he found it, probably an advertisement on a porn site. AM is a huge business.

Not to mention, didn't Josh's response say that flag burning was more offensive than book burning? So what are you all worked up over? He agreed with you...

Joshs OkCupid account was literally just deleted.

I was on it one minute and the next minute it was "not found".

But the Facebook profile picture and the one on the OkCupid account didnt quite match up to me anyway.

Plus the FB account only had aout 35 friends, all women.

This thread is like running a marathon and I just crossed the finish line. (for now)

A few pages back, someone asked if it's possible Anna knew he was seeking sex on the side. If he were on any other dating site aside from Ashley Madison, I might believe that. But Ashley Madison is specifically for people who want discreet affairs. I doubt many open marriages exist on that site. If he were just on OK Cupid, maybe, but Ashley Madison, no way.

Also some mentioned not knowing about Ashley Madison, they actually had a super bowl commercial a few years ago that people freaked over. Because ZOMG NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY! I'm sure Josh either knew about it from there, or from his creeper colleagues at the FRC.

If this were credit card fraud, or FRC "research" he would've said it right away. His silence just confirms that these were legit affairs.

Now I wonder if he's on Tinder  (And if so, did he tell TFDW about Grindr?)

I've seen a lot of "don't believe everything you read on the internet!!!111!!" While it is admirable that those people still remember the advice that their sixth grade computer teacher gave them, I have to say that times have changed. The internet is not a place where everything you see is a total lie. No, on the contrary. There are many veritable news sites with perfectly valid information. In the case of this hack, there is no reason to not believe the information we were presented with. Even "experts" were weighing in saying that this hack is the real deal. While I don't necessarily support all hackers just hacking for the sake of hacking (say hacking one more time!), you have to admit that the level of computer kung-fu is admirable. They wouldn't just throw Josh Duggars name in there for fun or as part of the lesbian agenda. So sorry leghumpers, this isnt 2003, and this hack is legitamate. Josh is a scumbag.

Hopefully the Duggars and their supporters don't try to claim any of the above since they are all far fetched or straught up make no sense. I've gone over to their fb page and I haven't seen a support comment yet. I've seen a few people say they supported smuggar through the molestation scandal, but do not support them any longer. People are encouraging anna to leave. I think jboob will shut his mouth with this one after screwing up the Kelly interview. Hopefully they realize that even though they are his parents and the family is close, they have nothing to do with it. Josh alone must answer.

I think I first heard about Ashley Madison from news stories about wacky advertising stunts they've pulled. They've tried sponsoring a sports stadium, an airport, etc. When the Chilean miners were rescued and one of them was discovered to have his wife and mistress waiting for him, AM tried to get him to be a spokesperson.

There are so many bad deflections on their FB page from the random people actually defending them:

And I'll ask you [name snipped] what's your expert opinion on George Soros???

I mean - really? Soros is the best she can come up with? I bet she's a hoot, whoever she is, on political threads. :cray-cray:

While I personally really do think the OKC account is his, I don't think the deletion is evidence of that.

If I had an OKCupid account that was suddenly all over the Internet in news about a scandal and was facing the fall out of that (nasty messages on the site, strangers analyzing the profile online), I'd probably delete it too, even if I wasn't the person they thought I was.

Exactly. Otherwise the timing of the deletion would be a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE coincidence.

Well good thing the internet is forever, and someone here was amazing enough to get screen shots of it all.

Pictures were from a random guy on the internet. Literally google "random guy" and you'll find the OkCupid picture.

right, if he was smart he would leave it up and pretend like it isn't him. deleting makes it clear he wanted it to go away. once again, fundies don't understand how the internet works.

Because we know that fundies don't understand how the internet works, if this is him, I think it's proof that they've entered damage control mode, likely with some sort of PR firm. I expect the Facebook to disappear and a statement in a few hours.

I think the leghumpers are in shock, honestly. I think they are waiting to see how the Duggars are going to spin this one and take their cues from them before jumping back on the bandwagon.

Duggars: "Clearly he still has issues. He strayed from God and Jesus, but now that he's back in NWA, he and Anna and their family are surrounded by people who love them and will help them thru this terrible time."

Leghumpers: "YEAH! See?! He strayed, like the little lamb he is! Just needs to come back to his shepherd! Everyone makes mistakes! PRAY FOR THEM!!!!!11!!!"

(what I wish would happen:)

Duggars: "Josh? Josh who?"

Leghumpers: *quietly unfollow and slip away from all things Josh Duggar........* :shifty-kitty:

I wish that were true, but unfortunately I think we're giving Anna too much credit. She'll stay with him and be The Good Wife, standing by her man through thick and thin, the way God (and gothard) intended.

This is literally the first time (I think since the time she "happily" went on a book tour with the family at nine months pregnant) that I have felt any empathy for Anna.

I hope she sees that she is not setting a good example for her daughters...

I hope she sees that Josh is treating her like garbage... and that she doesn't have to stand for it....

But, unfortunately... Yeah. She will be the good wife, that stands by her man.
