Also I wonder why Dakota Paine and Thomas haven't had a child yet as well. Are they not letting God decide? It seems this culture values people based on the "blessings" aka children they receive. I hope Michael isn't putting pressure on herself. Remember poor Anna Duggar who had to wait a whole long 4 months after marriage until she got pregnant? The agony!!!

Also, maybe I'm cheap but I think pregnancy tests are rather expensive.  She (Anna) said she took multiple and it kept coming up negative. I know Michelle has like a lifetime supply, but I wonder if they just use the little sticks you can get from a doctors office. Store brand tests in Connecticut are like $14 for two.

You can't buy used and save the difference on pee sticks. And you can't collect used ones like Gil did with the toilet paper.

I have a feeling JB found someplace to buy them in bulk, like lots of 100 or 1,000. Crazy.

Hahahaha. Bless you.

My husband and I have been dealing with infertility as we've been trying to have a child for 4 years and I have spent an obscene amount of money on pregnancy tests over this time, even with buying them on eBay for crazy prices mentioned above.

I do feel for Michael (and Brandon!) if they would love nothing more than to have a child and it hasn't happened yet (even if that child will be raised with beliefs that most of us don't agree with). Especially since there are pregnancy announcements and likely talk of pregnancy and babies everywhere. It's hard. Very hard.

No, but I adore you for doing so. :pb_lol:

Spoiler Alert - he collected toilet paper from the floor after it was used to make toilet paper gowns at a wedding shower (I think it was Beth's - Kelly's younger sister.) So not as bad as really used toilet paper, but bad enough to make me look at him like :NAWAK:

You can buy pregnancy tests at the dollar store. They work just as good maybe not quite as early detection but still before you miss your period. I finally figured that out on kid #3 and stopped buying the $17 twin pack!!

Sorry to hear about your infertility, I can only imagine the amount of stress and pressure you must feel, and am sending you positive energy that this will soon change in your favor.

I think I would just go to a free clinic and grift tests just like Gil bates would probably do. I mean Gil should've just titled his talk at the ATI conference "#gggg Gil's Gangsta Grifting Goals." I can't stand him but he has no chill/humility whatsoever. It's pathetic but comical. I wish someone would film the harsh rejections he must've gotten throughout the years.

I sincerely hope Michael does not measure he self worth by the amount of babies she can produce. I hope if she reads this she can see there is more in life she can accomplish then having a dozen of children.

Lol, and the toilet paper thing did make me cringe though. I know they used it to make fake wedding dresses but it was all over the floor and people's bodies. Not to sound crazy or gross, but being a female, dirty toilet paper freaks me out. It's like putting direct dirt into your vag. No thanks.

And @mallallory good to know. When I decide to have my own spawn I will surely buy it in bulk on Amazon. I just know from scares before that pregnancy tests were super expensive. But again, me complaining about the price of the tests shows I can't afford kids.

When I was dealing with infertility I bought the cheap pack of 50 pregnancy tests on Amazon. I think they came out to like a quarter apiece. I love a good deal!

I can just imagine fundie brides getting boxes of pee sticks as wedding gifts, in their Christmas stocking, on Valentines Day....

Thomas and Dakota Paine strike me as fundie light. They like there alone time and recently did some mission work with sex workers, porn stars, and strippers. It was called "Jesus loves porn stars too". Not something you would ever see Chad and Erin Paine doing.

Can someone point me to more info about this sex worker ministry? It could be good, but IBLP has had material used in pretty much the same sort of ministry and it is a disaster of shaming women. Wondering what the actual ministry is. Do they assist people in leaving the lifestyle if they want to leave it or just telling them that God loves them but hates sex outside of marriage.

Im curious about their approach as well. It reminds me of when they filmed "dishing  with the duggars" and they rewatched when Jill cried saying goodbye to that girl in Central America.

Jill then said, "she's probably made some bad choice now...."

Basically they said once those girls are no longer children they have a high chance ending up doing sex work to get by. I know Jill was trying to allude to sex work without saying it, but saying it was a choice bothers me. They have never had to starve and do whatever it takes to survive. These young girls dont wake up and decide to be prostitutes. Perhaps Jill and Derrick instead of trying to convert young orphans with bibles and soccer balls, they can actually invest into young women and help them find employment and a means to survive.

I hope tom and Dakota are doing something helpful rather than say they're doomed to hell if they don't change today.

My grandma was a devout jehovah witness and weekly went door to door. While I may not agree with their beliefs she has helped women get out of terrible situations. Out of abusive relationships, help them find jobs and so on. It's preying on the week but at least they're helping and not only preaching and posting photos on Instagram.

I found Thomas and Dakota Paine on FB, but nothing about a ministry with sex workers. Just that Thomas likes IBLP's family conference page, loves shooting guns and thinks Planned Parenthood is just like Nazi's murdering Jewish babies. Dakota doesn't have much public on her page but she gave IBLP's Embassy Media a five star rating.

That sounds more right. Thomas worked for IBLP for some time now, not sure if he still does. I also confuse him for their other brother Nathan. I didn't know dakota was part of the community, but how else would someone working and living with IBLP find someone outside of the sect.

According to her old blog she was very much involved in IBLP and they met at the Chicago headquarters. I'm having no luck finding anything about them having a ministry for strippers and prostitutes.

The dollar store ones sometimes are more sensitive and detect earlier then the expensive early detection tests. I had to test so I could know when to start blood thinners. I actually found going to planned parenthood and getting a $20 blood test 5 days early was the best way to know for sure. Before getting blood tests, I researched the brands and effectiveness. I could not believe those forums of women that test every hour and post pictures of the tests or women that use 5 or more different tests every time they pee! I struggled with miscarriages but I can't imagine testing every hour or dipping 5 sticks each time.  I have always wondered if the Bates or Duggars tested that often or just everyday.

One pregnancy one of my daughter's had, the OB told her to test every day beginning with five days after ovulation.  They wanted to do blood tests as soon as possible.

Thomas and Dakota Paine are still IBLP fans and still very much part of the Paine family.

As of last year, Thomas Paine works for a Fundyish tree service (Hansen's not Bates's) in MO and Dakota works at a children's psychiatric hospital - doing I know not what.  They went missionarying in the Philippines under the IBLP banner last year too.  Probably their ministry to sex workers (if they have one) is through an IBLP/ATI prison ministry.  Daddy Paine has his connections.

Dakota's old blog: http://inhisarms-onestepatatime.blogspot.com/

Their new blog hasn't been updated recently: http://constant-survival.blogspot.com/

Rumors that they are less Fundie, not as Fundie, possibly verging on Fundie-lite, these days seem to be based on the fact that she is not convicted to be skirts-only, had a sleeveless wedding dress, and has been photographed in a non-modestwear swimsuit.  And I don't think they have reproduced yet.

We'll see.

Thomas and Dakota haven't reproduced yet-- I think they will be married 2 years this Aug or Sept. And he has a tattoo, and she wears shorts.  I agree, we'll see.

He has a tattoo!! I'm so confused. I need to go down a rabbit hole. Tattoos are so sinful in even lighter Christian organizations. A lot of the bates' children in-laws seem so much more fundie light. Not the parents but certainly their children. Keilen girls but I also don't know much about the websters. It's the same for the duggar in-laws too. I wonder if their siblings will rub off on them in the future.

I think it sounds promising. I think they met while working for headquarters or something but I remember seeing a blog kind of stepping away from all of that? Was that him? Or his brother?

Hopefully they are going in the "I'm getting a tattoo and believing less awful things" direction and not the Miss Raquel "I'm getting a tattoo and still being awful" direction.

With the tattoo they probably aren't going about doing stuff with IBLP. But does anyone have any info on their ministry to sex workers? I can't find a single mention of it.
