For once I actually like something a Fundie wore. Maybe now she's getting married, the hemlines and sleeves can be shorter.

don't think that's the case, haha. i was going to suggest case in point of alyssa and john's courtship announcement photos: thebatesfamily.com/courting-news/ but then i took a look at them again and realised that those clothes probably weren't the shortest and tightest alyssa wore before marriage. even before they married it was obvious that alyssa had an eye for fashion and was no doubt dying to break out of the sleeves and skirts.

i think carlin and tori are much of the same.

And yes, that dress is pretty. Although it seems that these fundies girls never cross their legs - just keep their knees tightly together. I was taught ladies keep their knees or ankles crossed when wearing a skirt above the ankle, but then again I'm a heathen so who knows.

I think you should keep your legs crossed when wearing a skirt. I know at my church you get looked at funny if you don't. Maybe it's just a comfort thing? If I was skirts-only all the time, I probably wouldn't want to constantly sit with my legs crossed. It gets uncomfortable.

Has anyone else also noticed how thin Michael actually is? Her arms and shoulder are rather muscular so it doesn't strike one's eye as fast as with the other girls, but she's actually VERY petite. She looks very well-exercised and I wanted to point that out again, on a very shallow note. :) I wish I'd look that attractive(imho).

I've noticed that as well. She is someone who is very slender but with a rounder face, and since she dresses super modestly people (including me) probably assume at first glance that she is a curvier girl than she really is. But she's probably close to as tiny as Alyssa.

really? i haven't seen the ep, but from what i gather michael is build like her mom... and i wonder if that's why michael dresses more modestly, because she is more curvy than her sisters.

Have we mentioned the latest Instagram photo on the Brandon/Michaela account? It's a pic of Jana, Carlin, Michaela and Joy-Anna going to the wedding rehearsal. Joy and Carlin are in front. They are really beautiful IMO. (Not to say the others aren't, but they're in the back so you can't see them as well.) I know we've said it before, but my God the Bates/Duggar girls are so pretty. It's just such a shame they're so sheltered and their parents teach such horrible views, cos they *seem* like nice people.

First off: How fucking obnoxious. Even if maybe you're broke, please shell out money you can't afford to give to two people who have no debt and are probably getting most of their wedding comped. Seriously what possible reason could there be to put that up there? You know that would be shared. Nobody is obligated to get you squat for a wedding. Practically everything is bought on their registry anyway. Why not a request to pray for them? Oh, right. That doesn't get them money.

Second : Did anyone else think maybe Michaela went with too much brown for the bridal party? Brandon is in full brown, so are the maids and flower girls. I wish she would have chosen a soft pink. But then I'm anal retentive and monochromatic themes make me twitchy.

I have noticed Whitney is MUCH thinner-and her hair is so light and has beautiful highlights.

I actually thought Michaela was very "hippy". I noticed it in all the courting/engagement episodes. I think she is definitely built more like her mom. But, tonight, on Erin's IG, she posted a photo of herself and Michaela and they both look very thin. Erin's is obviously losing the baby weight, but Michaela looks almost unhealthy. And her hair is also VERY light.

I have to say I think the Bates kids are very attractive. And their littles are just adorable! I know they are fundie and all that other stuff but I enjoy them so much more than the Duggars. I think they are down to earth and tend much more toward "normal".

Looking forward to wedding photos. As is typical with fundie weddings, it will be tacky and totally gauche but I do think they are in love. (Although Brandon gives me the heebie-jeebies, I will admit.) And, I agree with the previous poster, there will DEFINITELY be too much brown--especially for an August wedding!

I think anything that doesn't involve an animal or another person (which in my mind, includes porn) is a-okay. Tying up, role play, etc is fine. Of course, I'm speaking as a regular old fundie, no ties to Gothard or any specific organizations. I can imagine that disgusting, old nut has tons of (*not* biblical) rules against all sorts of fun sex.

I often see on FJ the idea that fundies don't have sex for fun, don't care about women enjoying it, etc., and I still haven't been able to figure out where this notion comes from.

I think Jana&Michael and Carlin&Joy are the really authentic friends when it comes to Duggars and Bateses. Maybe Zach and John David, but I don't think the rest are too fond of each other. :whistle:

OMG yes totally, the walking on the table was super annoying. Other scene with the two of them, when Brandon was choosing the ring, i was like, no way Brandon would be so patient with them if this was not being recorded!
