Thanks.

I wonder how many hours of babysitting it takes to earn a cookie.

I reckon a cookie is about the equivalent of six jelly beans. I've sat and thought about it for the last ten minutes and that's what I've decided. So there.

(It's hot here and I'm on a day off work. Don't judge me :D )

Re: Illuminati. My dad teaches at an alternative education school for girls, and it is sort of a thing amongst a large number of his students to believe various politicians and celebrities are involved in the Illuminati. The funny thing is his students can't even tell you who or what the Illuminati are, only it is somehow evil. Then again some of his students also believe MERMAID conspiracies (I shit you not) so that makes the Illuminati sound plausible.

My college writting classes did not cover spelling and grammar. Those subjects were part of my elementary school education.

Ignorance is no excuse when you are responsible for teaching your children.

A friend of mine who is trained as a nurse was telling me "they found a real mermaid" a while back, because she had seen a show on Animal Planet or one of those networks. I had not seen the show, but had read about it. I debunked it as much as I could without calling her stupid, but I never convinced her.

"They had pictures, how could they fake those"

Ever see the movie Alien or Star Wars or oh, any movie?

I let it go, but it was a serious WTF moment.

Just waiting on someone to fill her in. :popcorn2: 31 likes and nothing. I'm surprised it's gotten that high.

Someone finally has: "You know Ellen is a lesbian, right?"

I was just going to post that. I hope she answers. That should be interesting.

Oh my God.

I just spotted this reply on the perfume post:

Erika, please leave science to the scientists and not your husband. Pheromones exist in men and women naturally. Every drop of sweat, saliva and even in our tears. You might as well wrap your daughter in saran wrap and leave her in the house than prevent her from excreting pheromones. Send her to a convent!

The same lady then posts:

What in the world would possess your husband to google "beyonce heat pheromones?"

But then, one of her "Encouraging Quotes" (the list that rolls up like credits on her blog sidebar) is by John Cleese, who is very anti-organised religion.

But John Cleese believes in marriage between a man and a woman. He believes in marriage between a man and a woman so much that he is on his 4th wife.

Please, someone link me to the perfume post. I can't find it and am going nuts trying.

I don't know how to link a single post from facebook, but it's on their fb side (facebook.com/LargeFamiliesOnPurpose?fref=nf).

You have to scroll down several posts to find it, it's under the post with the two babies she shared from Ellen.

Side note: She's posted some article about how Russia is apparently getting close to banning abortion, with her own caption: Glimmers of hope and humanity come from the strangest places.

Is that not the most beautiful statue?

When will fundies realise that making abortion illegal will not actually stop abortions??? People are still going to have it done, but will just have backstreet and highly dangerous ones. The idea of abortion isn't nice, but I'd far rather it be done legally and safely rather than dangerously by some quack 'doctor'. Legal abortions are amongst the safest procedures in medicine. Abortion is illegal in Ireland but that doesn't stop people travelling across to mainland UK.

Western anti-choice sites are getting way ahead of themselves as far as the current situation in Russia goes. The legislation under review right now does not ban abortion outright. Russia's has the highest abortion rate in the world, and even the extremely conservative Russian Orthodox Church knows that they need to move gradually. The current legislation would be devastating if it passes, since it would remove State medical insurance funding for abortion (along with mandatory ultrasounds and, IIRC, a ban on OTC Plan B). However it's not a ban. They are definitely moving in that direction because the Ministry of Health also just signed an agreement with the Church to run crisis pregnancy centers, but I think a ban is years away. And I think Russians are not going to go along with it nearly as easily as some of the other Church-State legislation.

Oh, I saw that post, but didn't realize that that would somehow turn into Beyonce and pheromones. I was looking for a self-righteous post about perfume.

Oh, no, wait, not the babies post. They don't show in the same order on my wall. I hate how Facebook screws up post orders. Mango, thanks for the link.

Methinks Erika needs to do a little reading up on Romania before she starts rejoicing.

Aside: I have heard before that Russia has the highest abortion rate in the world. Does anyone have a handy link to an article that goes into the cultural and societal factors as to why this is? I'm interested.

There is a "Family Scrapbooking" post up right now with the date Monday, July 6, 2015 which appears to have gone up on the 3rd, but it's just a re-post from 2011 with all the original comments. I left this comment:

How ...lazy. Why repost this, seemingly, without any new content? Why not just make it a perma-link on the side of the blog?

We'll see if it's allowed through and if she replies.

She does this all the time. Sometimes she updates posts a bit, sometimes she just reblogs them. I think it's because her leghumpers keep on asking about various things like "how do you do xyz" and she just reposts.

Looking through, i think there are some new pictures. I don't think I've seen those pictures of the scrapbooks from when Karen and Melanie were little. They look so cute! It looks like Karen was quite tan for a while. She's definitely more tanned than Melanie.

If you posted on the blog, I can't see your comment, by the way.

Hmm, I made sure I was signed into gmail and tried again, but it's still not showing up. Off to try again. This would be easier if she would post a link on her FB to every 'new' blog post.

I decided to compare the two biased on calories. I used a Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies because they come in packages, they each have 160 calories. I used Jelly Belly Jelly beans because they come in giant tubs at Cost Co and I know Erika shops there. There are only 4 calories per bean, or about 100 calories per single serving (25 beans). Therefore It would take 40 Jellybeans to get a cookie. Which sounds about right in Erika land.

(I know/spend entirely too much time thinking about this evil lady. Don’t judge me ;) )

One of the comments from yesterday is from someone called Daniel's Helpmeet. Way to denigrate yourself, lady. I am so glad I'm not a fundie and have my own identity instead of being a man's property.
