Well I went to bed early and was hoping for an answer this morning. I guess not. Unless the answer was, rebel and people will become perfectly nice and it will be rainbows and butterflies. And that answer isn't based in reality, so it doesn't count as a reality based answer.

I see you read the FAQ

Most anarchists that have to man/woman up and get jobs to feed themselves and their families also wind up realizing that there are only 2 options for the most part 1-Work for a capitalist enterprise 2-Work for the State. Of course there are not-for-profits, but I don't think the Swedish porn industry falls under that umbrella.

That's how it will happen. Sure.

Just read the FAQ if you really want answers.

Or listen to Noam Chomsky.

I can't read the FAQ because that site locks up my computer. But if that really is your answer, then that wasn't a solution based in reality and you have offered no reality based, non-facist healthcare solution.

If you don't understand your beliefs well enough to explain them in your own words, then you should really study your belief system better. You have given vague, completely useless answers to questions. Rebel and be free isn't a real answer to the healthcare problems in America, it gives no solid steps on what will happen and why things will change the way you say they are going to change. No links, use your own words.

Speaking of Chomsky, I for one, actually have listened to him in person several times. He is one messed up puppy politically. You are completely off the rails when you can justify Slobodan Milosovic and Kim Jong Il. He actually has a fair amount of respect for North Korea.

Just because someone is a brilliant linguist, doesn't mean they have the keys to Utopia.

I tried reading, but it is not based in reality from what I could see. There were no answers and merely a lot of magical thinking, that if we rebel against capitalism it will never come back, even with no checks and balances. Personally, I am happy there are authorities to keep serial murderers and child molesters away from me, and this FAQ seems to think that those people will just cease to exist. It makes as much sense as Mitt Romney's economic plan and is just as specific.

Noam Chomsky is an expert in linguistics, and the rest is just his opinion. As someone else said, it is hard to respect the political leanings of someone who thinks Kim Jong-Il is a decent guy. Kim Jong-Il is a real fascist, not a pretend, "just because fundylyte says so" fascist like Obama.

I'm trying to avoid this thread (though it has a magnetic pull) and have to say I agree about Chomsky's politics. I am a Trot who actually wears a badge with Felix Dzerzhinsky's face on it, which makes me the evillest thing ever. I have a few anarcho pamphlets with Chomsky's writings about how Trots are terrible and destroying the left.

Thing is, he's actually taking a much weirder position than I do. You can't one minute defend states which are appalling by any standard and then come back and say you're a libertarian socialist. (trans:anarchist).

He was right about Sudan, though.

I was going to say that Chomsky should have just stuck with linguistics.

AHAHAHAHAHA, so right after posting on this thread I go to facebook and I see a picture of somebody I know that she posted of herself with Noam Chomsky. Of course, she's getting a masters in teaching English as a second language, so I feel that her interest in him is legitimate.

How do you define socialism? This is very important, I need to know before I can give you a honest answer to your question.

Answer our questions first, then we'll answer yours. Isn't that how it works? You answer somebody's question before you ask 1 of your own?

It's just amusing because it was literally the next thing I saw on the internet after I posted here.

Not important at all. You said you had a non-facist plan for the healthcare problem in America. Then said your plan was rebel, be free, healthcare problem solved. That of course is so vague it is worthless and pretty much impractical on all levels. I have all the time in the world so if you need to take multiple posts to explain this plan of yours, go for it. If socialism is an important part of your answer, throw in how you define(these are your ideas, not mine, so your definition is the one we will be working with, mine is irrelevant for the plan you already have) it and go for it.

Happy days.

I returned to this thread to see if you had answered the question. I see not.

Socialism. Are you serious? You sent so many links about Anarchy/Mutualism and you cannot define Socialism?

Whoever told you the best defence is deflect or attack was wrong. That only works when you have a leg to stand on. Same with answer a question with a question. That is normally used when you feel insecure.

Maybe in his 2nd term he will prove me wrong, but I don't think so. The US has never had a true leftist president and it probably never will. To be fair though, most countries have never had a true leftist president and probably never will.

There are, as of writing, 196 countries in the world, though that could change any time. Fundylyte, you said that "most countries" have never had a true leftist president which suggests that some have. Are you talking only about those democratic countries which have presidents or are you including those which are semi-presidential? What of the collective presidencies such as Switzerland? Are you including the presidents of dictatorships?
