If Republicans were all like Obama, I would still be republican.

May I ask what you are now?

Because in my honest opinion, Obama IS just like the Republicans, authoritarian (NDAA) and a Nationalist (No tires from China).

Al Qaeda does exist. They say they exist, they do stuff as a group. I am sorry you choose to ignore reality. I respect Noam Chomsky immensely but he is not an expert on foreign relations.

War does not benefit workers at all and that is why I am against it. However, calling Obama a fascist because he is involved in wars that he inherited does not make him a fascist. If it did, every world leader would be a fascist.

If Obama had an ® by his name, that would not change my opinion. I do not consider George W. Bush a fascist either. By the definition, he was not. He was certainly closer to it than Obama, but not a fascist.

I'll answer right after you explain what your solution to the healthcare problem in America is.

You're just blinded by partisan ignorance.

If Obama had a ® by his name you know you'd agree with me.

What's with the ad-hominems?

Nope. I'd still disagree even if Obama was a Republican; I'll even say something treasonous in that Romney is not a fascist either. There is no party that has fascism as a political doctrine in the USA.

Maybe I'm only sleeping and we are in the midst of a fascist takeover...

ps: btw, in my original post I wrote about seeing comments that stated that Obama was a Nazi. I should have noted that I saw that elsewhere, not here on FJ. My original wording was pretty vague.

Sooo, what is your solution to the healthcare problem in America?

>>Ideally I would like to see the workers take it over, but for now just make Medicare for all.

No one should have to pay (by threat of violence) insurance for a basic human right!

Nationalist (No tires from China).

But Walmart will buy all the shit they are willing to sell. The balance of trade between the US and China doesn't support your claim.

FWIW I'm a former Commie and now closer to a utopian socialist. As someone clearly on the left in the US, Obama is pretty much a centrist. With a divided bicameral government, it's easy to see where party politics stopped him from implementing many of his plans.

Hello, pot.

Calling me insane makes about as much sense as calling Obama a fascist. Apparently Fundylyte is the new Webster's Dictionary with sole right to determine what words mean.

What about in communist countries? They were no better for the worker than capitalism, perhaps a lot worse.

Power corrupts. As soon as someone leaves the factory to be a politician, they cease to be a worker and begin to be The Man. That is why workers will never be in charge of health care policy. As soon as as you cease working productively and get into administration, you are not a worker. Whoever you put in charge, they will become corrupted. It is the nature of politics.

There would be no state, so there would be no politicians.

Bullshit. I fucking despise George W. Bush and he did all of what you accuse Obama of and worse, but I would never call GWB a fascist. A terrible president, yes. But he's not a fucking fascist. Mitt Romney is not a fascist. John McCain is not a fascist. And Sarah Palin, bless her little ignorant twit heart, is not a fascist. You are cheapening the horrors of fascism as practiced by fascists governments to call anybody to the right of you a fascist.

I'm honestly not interested in talking to you.

Workers take over what?! Give me a detailed non-facist healthcare plan here. Because what you wrote makes no sense. Keep in mind that there are huge chunks of people here that will flip the fuck out and fight against everyone getting government healthcare. Universal healthcare right now is going to be a huge adjustment, so making it easier for people to get healthcare, and then requiring people to get healthcare so we don't have the same problems we are having now are baby steps in the right direction.

So there would be no health care at all? Sorry, but someone needs to make sure that doctors and hospitals get paid or there will be no doctors and hospitals.

You obviously didn't read the FAQ.

No one should have to pay (by threat of violence) insurance for a basic human right!

But it's impossible to get healthcare for all without it being payed for by all productive members of society one way or the other. Either the funds for it are taken as taxation (by threat of violence) or by insurance premiums (by threat of no medical care if not paid). That's it. There is no giant medical funds dispenser in the sky showering down endless resources. Doctors, nurses, suppliers, builders, cleaners, drug manufacturers, admin staff etc etc all need to be paid for the system to function. The government has no money of it's own, only what it can raise via taxation and penalties (eg for a higher income earner choosing not to buy private health insurance). It just can't work without people paying into it, and at some point you have to make that mandatory, especially if you seek a universal system, or most people will opt out of paying and still demand ever more expensive medical services. Medical care is a black hole for government. You can always spend more, there is always room to make the system better, to use new technologies, to provide more. But it needs to be funded.

So it's better that many people are left uninsured and completely without that right? You really have no grasp on pragmatism and how the world really works, do you? I'm glad you live in the little peaceful, socialist utopia of Sweden. No, seriously, I'm jealous of many things you guys have over there. I wish America had universal healthcare. I also know that Congress is a clusterfuck and the Affordable Care Act is the best that's going to happen while the Republicans have control of the House.

You obviously didn't read the FAQ.

I am not going to spend the next few hours reading how hospitals and doctors will magically appear with no state universities, no state-funded research, no elected politicians to administer these things, etc. If it really is a viable plan, you can sum it up or I will just assume it is bullshit.

I answered your question.

No you proposed a hypothetical political ideal. That is far from a solution to a nations healthcare issue. It is very easy to subscribe, even believe a political ideal. Your beliefs are yours I can respect that. But not your inability to translate that into a practical solution.

I thought Communism sounded FABULOUS when I was ...............14.

I couldn't navigate the FAQ. I would click on one link and it would take me to another link with bunches of more links. So, just recap the answer for us, please.

No shit. It is literally a book, and there is no tab for health care.

I'm hoping she will supply a workable, based on the reality that is USA, non-facist healthcare plan. Sure, I can say I wish everyone would just help everyone out when they need help, but that isn't based in reality or a workable plan.

That's the old joke, "if you're not a communist at 21 you don't have a heart, if you're still a communist at 31 you don't have a brain"

With apologies to JFC who most certainly has a big lovely brain and a certain amount of rueful nostalgia from someone who used to be a member of Resistance (the Australian socialist youth organization).
