I don't get any sense that MacKynzie is being trained with fear. She seems pretty bold, opinionated and confident, even for a little tyke. Both children appear well-cared for, in stark contrast to their raggedy little J-aunts.

And I'm sure the parenting is all Anna. Josh is clearly one of those "babysitter dads".

I got the feeling during David & Priscillia's wedding when Mac cried and didn't want to make a mess throwing the rose petals down the aisle that J&A are using some sort of fear type discpline.

I do think that Anna is doing much better then Michelle and using her "degree" in Education to help her kids with appropriate developmental skills.

I have always wondered if Michelle isn't jealous of Anna's life compared to her life at that point. Back when Michelle had Josh and the the twins, JB&M were living in the mobile home behind the lot, they lived in that mobile home till 7 kids. JB was very tight with funds and Michelle said it was hard to say no to her kids basic wants. Michelle in the early days also helped JB with the towing and carlot business. Anna has a house, pick of any car on the lot and obviously picks a pretty expensive one, she doesn't seem to help at the lot anymore, she is free to spend her days focused on her kids without worrying about money.

I am of the opinion that Michelle is probably a little smug that Josh's little family is still somewhat financially bound to Ma & Pa Duggar. JimBob still owns the carlot, Grandma owns their house, and they get $ from the tv show that is about the main family. I woudn't be surprised if Josh and Anna's paycheck wasn't negotiated with TLC by the parents. Yes, Anna's life is different than Michelle's was but on the other hand Anna is tightly tied to the Duggar family. When a parent can (and does) hold money and security over your head as a married couple, you're not really a "free" (for lack of a better word) married couple.

Possibly, but my son was like that. He could not abide messes and something like that would have freaked him out at that age as well. He's nearly 11 now and still has the neatest room in the house.

LOL Thanks for the shout out, Josh. We're actually pretty happy up here in our socialist paradise. Most of us Canadians believe universal healthcare is a fundamental right, and not very many people want to do away with gay marriage. And, oh yeah, that huge recession caused by so-called conservative policies? Canada wasn't hit nearly as hard by it, because of all of our evil government regulations. Who woulda thunk it. We're happier, healthier, and better of economically than you are. So what's your point, exactly? Please go stick your head back up your ass where it belongs.

And we rank much higher on the "democracy" index according to the repository of all human knowledge, Wikipedia, and we read more (iirc the average Canadian spends twice as much time a day reading as the average American). Seriously, I'm the first to point out problems in Canada (though a lot of them I blame on conservatives), but please do forgive me if I'm not insulted by being called a liberal haven by Smuggar. :lol: It seems to be working out for us OK.

As to the bolded, it is probably because of better sex education, universal health care, and more comprehensive social services. All are present in countries with low abortion rates.

The majority of women who have abortions in the US cite economics as a primary reason. If conservatives really wanted to make abortion rare, they would begin looking at why women choose it and chink away at the social issues.
