I read Thimble Thoughts a bit. Shes not typical fundie. She should have read the labels. But like Wolfie said it is not common to put aspertame or any artificial sweeteners in a pop unless it's a diet drink. And I guess she may have a learned a lesson from it. Shes also mentioned in the past on this blog her old one that her brother has MS. Which may be another reason she is so against the artificial sweeteners. And she said she bought 24 cans. Not a buggy load. She has a tendancy to get under my skin sometimes. But I like her in general. Anytime I have asked her a question she always answers back. Generally nice. I read her comment and didn't feel she was being rude. Just matter of fact. Pretty sure she was kidding about it being an expose. She has that sense of humorous if you read her more. Still funny that they had a family reunion and were all swimming in clothes. Most of them anyway.

I used to read Thimble Thoughts and also thought she wasn't really "that bad", but her more recent posts, especially the one about the "sodomites" shows that she really is.

I don't read her anymore unless she is brought up here, but I have to say that her posts about her dad passing still make me tear up if I read them.

I have been consumed by med school. I read that as "somites" and wondered why a fundy would actually know something about embryology. Latest abortion argument? Then I reread.

I can understand her rant on its own... I react to pretty much every sugar substitute out there so I have to be pretty careful (I don't like pop but I do like juice and ice tea) and I have always read labels since I started having reactions but it used to be that once I saw sugar or HFCS on there I was "safe". Maybe not the healthiest thing but I wouldn't get sick from it. But lately a lot of drinks even if they aren't diet tend to have both sugar or HFCS AND a sugar substitute, even if it's not diet, which makes me mad because many of my "safe" brands are not dependable anymore. There are some non-diet Minute Maid and V8 drinks that have sucralose now for example. But now I just read through all of the label (and don't stop once I see sugar/HFCS) even if it's something I've had before because the ingredients can change and I figure it's my responsibility to check. I don't consider it an expose either... IT'S RIGHT THERE ON THE CAN.

But the not okay with some chemicals but okay with others thing is a bit hypocritical. Love her response to the chick-fil-a comment

The post before the aspartame one is a little disturbing. I think she is trying to say that if you are upset you have turned your back on God. I don't think it's a great thing to wallow for a long time either (but maybe that means she's depressed?) but you also don't have to be happy 24/7.

Well the thimble brained thoughts of Kristi had this to say about Obama:

Another month and a half and our country makes a HUGE decision on who the next presidency will belong to. I am really afraid for our nation. And I agree with what Alan Keyes has been quoted to say:

560527_410039305722483_1310995169_n.jpg

and this from a previous post:

I'm worried about all this nonsense going on in the middle east. Bunch of savages wreaking havoc over there. Supposedly over... "the film." I don't buy it. It was planned. And I'm sick of the liberals shouting what is going on is this film maker's fault and should be charged with murder. Him charged with murder? Ummm, how 'bout we charge the savages actually committing the murder?

Last I heard, the first amendment to the US constitution is still in affect. If the libs have it their way, we'll have no freedom of speech. Unless, of course, we agree with them on everything. In that case, we can say whatever we want. It's pretty much like that now. Ridiculous.

I'm not an Obama supporter. At all. I really want him OUT of the White House. But I don't see it going to happen. Conservatives are sick of the GOP and are split. If the conservatives that have decided to vote libertarian this year would give Romney a try, I believe we'd have some long awaited hope and change actually take place. I'm not a great Romney supporter either. But I'll take Romney over Obama any day. At least he isn't trying to totally turn us into a socialist country. And that's exactly what Obama is doing. If he were the only man running, I'd write in Mickey Mouse. After all, if Acorn can use Mickey Mouse to vote, he's eligible for presidency. Right?

:?

This is a common question. I heard a friend answer this one best. A very small percentage of abortions are made because of rape or incest. So instead of killing a baby...a life that has not yet been established, a life that can be taught and loved and raised to fear the things of the Lord and live by his Word...kill the rapist instead. Let's stop putting him up in a jail cell for us to feed him and take care of him until his time is up and he's out again to prey on other women and girls. And if killing them seems heartless to you, then let's fix it so they can never rape another victim. You can work your imagination there, if you like.

The thinking seems to be: abortion is wrong... let's murder people instead! Hurrah!

I hadn't checked in with my pet Fundie Thimble Brain Thoughts, Kristi in a while... Wasn't disappointed...

" I do believe that we live in a wicked and perverse nation and THAT is why Obama won. People are thinking about themselves and what kind of handouts they can get. Selfish.

She really is quite the hate-filled self absorbed princess, ain't she?

I'll probably get accused of fat-shaming, but f*ck it... She claims she is dieting and yet every recipe she posts is clogged FULL with cheese, cream, butter and can of crap soups, tater tots and other processed SHIT and JUNK!

This coming from the woman who WOULD NOT drink Diet Soda because of Aspartame yet finds all this rubbish totally OK? Hypocrite much? Anywho, had to rant. She makes me stabby this one!!! Her and Smuggar are a good match, actually...

I think that ever since her dad died she has become a tad unhinged. All her blog is is hate, hate, hate and more hate of anyone not just like her.

That quote about Obama being a radical communist - do these people and / or their audience not have the faintest understanding of what communism actually is?

Here's an amaze-ball recipe from Kristi at Thimble Thoughts -

"The punch is simple... I used the Hawaiian Green Berry Rush, 2lt Ginger Ale, and a can of Pineapple juice. You could add some lime sherbet floating on top. Oh yum, yes!"

We don't have these exact type of items here in Oz, but I'm trying to imagine a berry, ginger, pineapple punch with lime sherbet floating in it and it makes me want to puke!!!

I have no idea what Green Berry Rush is, but the other 3 ingredients do make a delicious punch. My daycare made it for birthday parties when we were little and I've appropriated it for parties as an adult (sometimes with alcohol). The sherbet keeps it cold without watering down the flavor.

It's Hawaiian Punch, and it is about the color of anti freeze. My kids beg me to buy it every week at he grocery store, it looks nasty!

Yeah, artificial sweeteners are bad, but I don't see her consuming sugar and other things in moderation either. In her blogs where she mentions food they are always eating unhealthy things like Crispy Creme donuts, candies, cakes and so on. Heck, except for their youngest son, they are all over weight. Also, in my opinion, if soda is only an occasional thing in your house why buy a shit load of it (even if the price is cheaper)? I occasionally drink a diet soda, and maybe even a regular soda (but "less occasionally"), but when I do, I just buy the one soda, not a shit load of it just because it's on sale for 5 bucks or whatever.

Also, I agree in that thimble surely describes her brain capacity!

I do that I have had a 24pk of coke in my garage for a month now and its still 3/4 full. I don't drink it often but when I buy it I always buy a case.

I just googled it now that I'm not on my phone. Yeah, that's pretty nasty looking, and I imagine the taste can't be any better.

ETA: By googling, I learned today is Ada Lovelace's 197th birthday, so yay for that!

Hey Kristi, tonight I'm being a greedy pig and eating a whole box of white Cadbury fingers! (washed down with four cans of Carlsberg). I can't be bothered to check the ingredients, I did try but I got bored halfway through. If God made us to diet and obsess over calories, He wouldn't have made chocolate taste so fucking good!

If I buy Diet Coke for someone coming over I always try to find the kind with Splenda. Otherwise I get the worst migraines. It's often a search and retrieve mission but I have found it. I prefer plain old coke. Pepsi is way to sweet for me. I love ginger ale as a mixer and for upset tummies.

I drive by our local CFA and flip it off, it's always busy and I wonder why people eat chicken soaked in pickle juice? Ours also made the national news when it had a cow graffitied on his wall.

Back to your normal jingering.

My piano teacher did 7up, pineapple juice and orange sherbet. MMMMMM

If I buy diet coke, it sits here until my mom or somebody who drinks it comes over. I just don't do artificial sweeteners, and always have a stash of cherry coke for myself. (as well as 7up, ginger ale and root beer.) Soda really is my biggest weakness, but I don't drink nearly as much as some people do in spite of keeping it in the house.

My mum made that for my birthday parties! That was yummy. Probably too sweet for me now, but delicious with cupcakes. Thanks, Wolfie, for inspiring a happy memory.

I read all of her posts in the voice of Cindy Brady, and I don't know why. There has to be something in her writing style that gives more than one person the lisp image!

Me too!

Kristi is no longer doing the Thimble Thoughts Blog. No big loss, but maybe someone here can be added to her new, private blog...

Saying Goodbye to Thimble Thoughts

Well, this is the very last post for Thimble Thoughts. I'm shutting it down. I'll keep it up for archiving, but all comments and things like that will be off.

I've started a new blog. If you are interested in having the link to my new blog, please email me at kristim71@yahoo.com or leave your email in the comments of this blog post.

I won't promise I'll be sending it to you. For now I'd like to keep it for those that I've known through blogging or I know personally.

For those of you I won't add right away, I'll be happy to copy and paste an email for you for a while until I'm comfortable about sending you a link.

Thank you so much for being a friend to Thimble Thoughts and I look forward to starting fresh and new at my new blog.

I can't help it, every time I see her blog title, I "hear" Cindy Brady saying "Simple Thoughts".
