"Red Meat And Ketchup"

Quote

Special Counsel Robert Hur exonerated President Joe Biden yesterday reporting that criminal charges were not merited but at the same time, added commentary that gave red meat to the Trump Campaign.

In his report, Hur claimed the president couldn’t remember when his vice presidency ended or when his son, Beau Biden, died. Hur wrote that the president’s memory was “significantly limited” during their interviews and that he had “limited precision and recall.” One reason prosecutors concluded they would have trouble pursuing a case was that a jury might see Biden as an appealing — if forgetful — senior citizen.

Hur wrote, “At trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” The report also stated, “Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”

The reason Hur says Biden would be a former president by the time the case came to trial is because he wouldn’t be able to prosecute while Biden is in office. Note how Hur made sure to mention that Biden will be into his 80s, as to make sure voters could hear it. This was political.

Hur was appointed mostly to level the playing field to appease howling MAGAts and Republicans. Nobody seriously believed Joe Biden had broken any laws or intentionally stole classified documents the way Donald Trump had. While Biden had cooperated and turned over documents as soon as they were found, Trump willfully obstructed justice to keep the documents he had stolen. It was Biden’s team who reported that they had documents. Trump repeatedly lied.

But you don’t see Jack Smith issuing a report about Donald Trump’s “mental state of willfulness.” Republicans started using this report within minutes of its release in a manner that questions their memory, as they seem to forget that Donald Trump confused Nikki Haley for Nancy Pelosi and E. Jean Carroll for one of his ex-wives.

Republicans quickly crafted a talking point about Biden being mentally unfit to be president if he’s mentally unfit to be prosecuted for stealing classified documents, thus stating that their guy is mentally fit for stealing classified documents. Meanwhile, their guy is boasting about passing a cognitive test, describing it in a way that doesn’t exist. Donald Trump is bragging that he could pick out a whale from other animals. What is he going to brag about next, that he can wipe his own ass? Here comes the new talking point: “A person unfit to wipe his own ass is unfit for the presidency.”

Unfortunately, President Biden didn’t help himself last night. He held a rare press conference in the White House where he angrily told reporters, “I know what the hell I’m doing.” He was especially angry at Hur for using the death of his son, which he said he remembers every day. The president said, “I don’t need anyone to remind me of when he passed away.”

It is particularly distasteful and disgusting that Hur used the death of Beau Biden to score political points against the president. This needs to be pointed out repeatedly.

Biden was done and walking away from the podium, but then he returned to answer one more question about the war in Israel and confused the leader of Egypt with the leader of Mexico. It wasn’t pretty.

The day before the report was released, Biden twice misstated which German leader he had met with at an event in 2021, saying he spoke with Helmut Kohl, who left office in 1998 and died in 2017, rather than Angela Merkel. Several days earlier he confused the current French president, Emmanuel Macron, with a predecessor, Francois Mitterrand, who died in 1996. If you wanna whatabout this, you can bring up the time Trump called Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, “Tim Apple.”

Hur’s job was to decide whether or not to prosecute Biden, not add commentary. Hur is a Republican who was appointed as a U.S. Attorney by Donald Trump.

Jim Messina, who ran President Obama’s 2012 campaign, said, “It’s a partisan document. You have got a Republican person here who can’t find anything to charge the president with, so he is taking a few partisan political shots.” Robert Hur successfully made himself the most partisan Special Counsel since Kenneth Starr.

This report is extremely irresponsible. Hur couldn’t settle for using the facts in his decision to not prosecute and felt he had to imply that the president is feeble-minded. Hur is not a doctor and isn’t qualified to diagnose the president’s mental fitness.

To my liberal friends, do not kid yourselves. This is bad. It’s so bad for the Biden Campaign that right after the president’s press conference, while CNN was talking about the memory issue, MSNBC was talking about the Supreme Court.

In regards to the investigation of possessing classified documents, President Biden said, “This matter is now closed.” But in the case of his mental fitness, Thanks to Robert Hur, it’s wide open.

"Fuzzy Versus Dotard"

Quote

Yes, President Biden confused the leaders of Egypt and Mexico for each other on Thursday night while trying to convince the nation he doesn’t suffer from memory loss. And sure, in recent weeks, he’s confused living leaders for dead ones. But confusing names isn’t a sign of memory loss. Just yesterday, I saw a meme on Facebook featuring Ray Romano who I confused for John Ritter. Uber Eats Super Bowl campaign is all about forgetfulness. My Alexa device is full of reminders. Sometimes I tell her to remind me in a few minutes that I put coffee in the microwave. And somewhere in my small apartment is a package of batteries, nasal strips, and a USB port strip that have been missing for the past four years.

But Republicans are campaigning on this in the same way they go after Hunter Biden’s foreign business, ignoring that Jared Kushner took $2 billion from the Saudi Government. They’re claiming President Biden is unfit while ignoring that last week, Donald Trump confused Nikki Haley for Nancy Pelosi and then doubled down on it. They’re going after President Biden for his senior moments while ignoring the last eight years of Donald Trump’s senior moments. And I’m being kind when I refer to them as “senior moments” because Donald Trump is a stupid man who’s barely literate.

Remember Donald Trump’s claim of winning Michigan Man of the Year, which doesn’t exist? Remember when he claimed he saw footage of New Jersey Muslims celebrating 9/11 that doesn’t exist? Remember when he thought stealth airplanes were actually invisible? How about Revolutionary War airports? Remember when he called Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, Tim Apple? How about taking his sunglasses off to stare at an eclipse? Remember when the “stable genius” said we should try to cure COVID by ingesting bleach? Can you imagine the panic the nation would go into if President Biden randomly tweeted “covfefe” in the middle of the night and never explained it? At least President Biden has never asked on social media if he looks like Elvis. And what about the “hamberder” tweet? Just last week, Trump confused the leaders of Turkey and Belarus. And don’t forget Nambia, Yo-Semite, and Thighland. And finally, there’s “person, woman, man, camera, TV.” This is a very small list.

The new normal is that we’re numb to shit like Donald Trump blaming Nikki Haley for not securing the Capitol on January 6, but still freak out when other politicians confuse Macron for Mitterand.

It’s not Trump’s senior moments that prove he’s unfit for the presidency as much as it’s his vile moments. What truly makes Trump unqualified is that he’s currently facing 91 criminal charges in four indictments. Trump is unfit because he plans to use his second term (sic) to go after his enemies. He’s unfit because he’s copying the language Hitler used in Mein Kampf. He’s unfit because he’s already declared he’ll be a dictator on day one. He’s unfit because he’s planning to re-implement racist policies. He’s unfit because this time, he’s not going to make the mistake of hiring and appointing people who will moderate him but fill every spot with lackeys and shitweasels like Stephen Miller, Sebastian Gorka, and Kash Patel. Trump is unfit because he incited an insurrection while trying to steal an election he lost. Trump is unfit because he’s the first president (sic) who refused to leave office peacefully.

Is Joe Biden fit to be president? He’s more fit to be president than Donald Trump, who’s not even fit to be a human being.

"Hearts, Treason, and Flies"

Quote

At a rally over the weekend in South Carolina, Donald Trump spun a tale that during a NATO summit, he told the leader of a “big country” that the United States wouldn’t protect his nation from a Russian invasion if it was “delinquent” in payments.

Trump recalled that this leader had presented a hypothetical situation in which he was not meeting his financial obligations within NATO and had come under attack from Russia. Trump claimed the leader asked if the US would come to his country’s aid in that scenario. Trump claims he told this leader, “You didn’t pay? You’re delinquent?… No, I would not protect you, in fact, I would encourage them to do whatever they want. You gotta pay.”

Trump said he told our allies he would “encourage” Russia to attack any NATO member that failed to meet the alliance’s target of two percent of their GDP.

Each NATO member nation has an obligation to spend two percent of its GDP (in case you’re a Republican, that’s Gross Domestic Product) on its military. Despite the way Trump frames it, it’s not payments to NATO or to the United States. There are 30 nations in NATO and 19 of them are spending below two percent of their GDP on their military. Some countries aren’t as hung up on building weapons the way we are. The United States spends nearly 3.5 percent of its GDP on defense which came to$766 billion last year and 12 percent of the budget, which is down from the usual 15 percent. While we can insist our allies keep their promises, we have to understand that not everyone shares our fetish.

Donald Trump was lying. This incident never happened. There are no witnesses and no way to confirm this. But, Trump is telling the truth in that he’d not just allow Russia to attack one of our allies, but he’d encourage it. What a dick. This isn’t like the cable bill where we can just turn off services or stop being friends until the amount is paid in full. Of course, MAGAts and Republicans are going to LOVE this idea.

Donald Trump favored dictatorships and fascism over our democratic allies during his first term (sic). He defended Putin and tried to legitimize the dictatorship of Kim Jong Un. Additionally, he lavished praise on strongmen in Turkey, China, Belarus, and the Philippines. He defended the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia after he had a Saudi journalist under US protection murdered. Today, Trump is in the golf business with that murderer. Oddly enough, the House isn’t investigating that for corruption.

Our allies are nervous about a second Trump administration (sic) and they should be. We should all be nervous. Republicans in Congress under Trump’s direction are blocking further aid to Ukraine to repel Putin’s illegal invasion. What happens if Trump is returned to the White House? Will Congress start sending money to Russia?

President Biden has confused the names of some of our allies but Donald Trump will never forget Putin.
