I'm curious and horrified that this took 18 months. How many more victims, images etc occurred in that time frame?

Was Josh aware of why they were there? Was Anna? His parents? When did they move back on JB's property? (told yall I was curious!)

When my Nazi stalker appeared in Federal Court in Charlottesville the first time, he pleaded not guilty also. He sat in the county jail for a few months and was ready to make a deal. The Feds told me that 85% of their cases go this way.

Yeah, he won’t be safe in jail. People have discussed on this thread that those who are paedophiles do not get an easy time in prison.

I forgot about Rebecka being well off. The sad thing is, this fact along with the offers of help she had last time, means that she really did choose to stay as opposed to being 'trapped'. 

She has options, I just hope that this time she actually takes them (although, if she thinks that he's actually going away for a significant amount of time she may feel she doesn't need to). Who knows what she'll do, she doesn't exactly have a history of making good decisions. 

I hope they AT LEAST get the kids some therapy (and none of this 'pray it away' crap). Those kids are going to be messed up over this.

Adding on to what others have said.  This will majorly fracture the family.  I don't think that Ma and Pa will every be able to accept that their golden boy needs to be held accountable and that he deserves time in a real jail and not some more Jesus Jail.  Because that would mean that they failed as parents.  They can't handle that level of accountability.  They will fuck up at some point and outright say that he is sorry/he shouldn't have to go to jail/only God can condemn/etc.  Some of the siblings will fracture off, some quietly and some loudly.  And I'm iffy on whether Anna will leave him.  Possibly, if she discovers that it was more than just looking at CP images.  This will cause a huge rift. And someone will talk at some point.

Josh was almost certainly one of many involved with these images.  These guys work in packs.

I feel for the sisters, especially those with female children. Not only may they relive things themselves, I can only imagine them thinking back to every encounter or family gathering that had Josh in there. Did he ever get near them? Urgh. I just pray to God he didn't hurt his own kids as well, and I'm not religious at all. I hoped it was all financial, those poor souls. At least girl #4 is safe. For now. 

Jeremy and Jinger: I really wonder if they adress the molestation in their book. Might wanna revise that chapter...

I also think the 2 boys got married sooner because this was coming, and TLC is out of here. No way they'll continue with the show. Michelle's weight loss might also be contributed to this.

Yes, both the JinJer and JB/Michelle statements have all the hallmarks of having been written by a publicist and vetted by an attorney. 

The best thing Anna could do would be to take the kids and move close to her family. It wouldn’t be as disruptive as in many other situations because the kids aren’t in regular school and the only friends they are leaving behind are their cousins. They really need to be out of that situation, at least temporarily. Anna herself? I was sympathetic to her during Ashley Madison. Now? While I’d like to see her escape, I consider her culpable. At best, she’s enabled this by turning a blind eye. She’s a grown woman, it’s unlikely she doesn’t understand what’s going on.

I hate to say this but when Mr. No told me that Josh was arrested yesterday I had to say I was not surprised.   Not at the specific charges but just the simple fact that he would mess up eventually.   Spending months in Jesus Jail would not address his issues as he is a very sick individual, it was foolish for anyone to think it would and it would be a matter of time he would mess up again.  

Now I hope that Anna will rethink this business of staying with him.   I get that she probably wanted to believe that he had learned his lesson earlier, that he was fixed, that she thought in her own words they could "go back to the way things were before" but if anything, she should get it through her head right now that there is no chance of that and there never was.  I know this is not what she signed up for but she's got a responsibility to 7 kids to kick Josh to the curb once and for all.   

 

 

It's just that the way things were before was not better, Josh was just as messed up, there was just less bad publicity about it.

I think they'll definitely circle the wagons, just like they always do, and they'll insist Joshie is innocent until the day he gets marched off to prison -- and probably even after that.  The best they'll manage is that he was tempted by the devil and wasn't strong enough in his faith.  As for Anna's parents, they'll keep on telling her it's "til death do you part".  Pa Keller has that prison ministry so he might not even think that this is all that bad.  

As for the rest -- Jinger and Jeremy are already distancing.  Jill and Derek have luckily already pulled away.  It will be interesting to see what John David says.

FWIW, I watched some of Katie Joy's WACB today and I understand that she generally needs to be taken with a grain of salt.  She says that she was watching the Zoom call and that Joy, Austin, Josiah, Lauren, and Jessa were "signed in".  She said she couldn't see if there were any other Duggars involved.  She also said that Jim Bob flew back from Big Sandy on Wednesday.  There were three lawyers there representing Josh.  The third was also a partner in the Story law firm.  Josh was wearing the prison stripes outfit and she said he smiled and smirked inappropriately most of the time.  Like I said -- grain of salt but possibly true.

There are pretty successful projects on not becoming offenders for pedophiles (in Germany, anyway). They still have their urges, of course, but they learn to suppress them, and are held accountable/make sure they're not put into positions to satisfy them.

The younger Duggar boys got married pretty quickly.  I wonder if they knew this was coming and didn't want the news in the way.  I'm sure the new Duggar wives are reeling.  But I imagine that Jinger, Jill, Jessa and Joy are feeling really terrible right now.  I know Jinger came out with a statement.  I wonder if the other sisters will, too?  Not that they should feel pressured into doing so, but I wonder if they will.  They all need real therapy and not Jesus therapy.

Obviously this has been brewing for some time....the raids were 2 years ago!! And STILL Anna remains joyfully available.  At what point in IBLP culture does protecting the children become a priority? I mean, sure, I expect this was all other work computer...but who else would have downloaded the stuff? Who else worked there? I don't remember if he was the only Duggar male to be in that business location.

Anna, come on. You HAVE to divorce him now...or give up your kids. Seriously.

Perhaps Josh had been up to some shady dealings at the car lot, and Jim Bob knew it.

When they took away his work computer, Josh and JB were aware that the shady dealings would come to light when the pc was examined and they were awaiting a money laundering/ dodgy dealing  charge, hence the expertise of their lawyer

Perhaps  deluded, arrogant Josh thought that the porn stuff that he had "hidden" so well behind passwords etc wouldn't be found and was expecting a different charge.

One of the things I remember so vividly from my own family, in a very similar situation, was that, because fundies view all sin as equal, they will amplify minor things (immodest clothing, sex before marriage), and minimize truly heinous acts, because all sins are sin.  It's one of the many reasons why that I believe abusers are attracted to groups like IBLB. 

Also, a pervasive belief that good Christian men are victims of this immoral, liberal, god-hating society.  That "their" men and boys would never sin but for the temptations thrust upon them by an evil internet, and so on.
