Someone on the other thread asked about the creation of CP.  That is typically a completely separate charge from possesion and receiving.

There's a great couple episodes of The Daily from February 2020 that go into the current landscape of prosecuting these crimes. It also discusses the ongoing trauma it causes for the victims, even those who were originally abused years and years ago. It's truly an awful, sickening crime.

A quick question because I don’t know how things work in the US: when would Josh and Anna have known he was busted? The date listed is in 2019 - would they have known then? If yes, it is reprehensible that Anna went on to have another baby with him. 

Why such a delay in arresting him? To get evidence and build a tight case?

I would just like to remind everyone that in 2014, the election before the police report about Josh's assault of his sisters and the unnamed 5th victim came to light, Michelle Duggar fixed her thin, shriveled, fascist lips to record a campaign robocall saying that transgender women were scheming to get access to women's restrooms for the purpose of assaulting minors. 

She did this knowing this sickness was festering in her own family.

I have to believe that Anna would have the support of most fundies in this situation? Right? I know many of them excused Josh before because they used the “he was only a teen and repented” excuse. Those reasons are gone now. If Anna wants to go to a fundie family member’s house…maybe David and Priscilla’s for a while? I hope they get real therapy.

I am extremely curious to know who knew what when. I know that spousal rape is huge is fundie circles so it's not like we knew Anna wanted more kids with this monster, BUT SHE STAYED. And that's the part she should get all the blame for and more. 

I really wonder if this explains the Justin and Jed weddings earlier this spring. Justin was so so so young, and Jed's engagement was super short. I bet they've known this was coming down the pipeline. Or at least JB knew and encouraged the grooms strongly to move up the timeline. 

What a disgusting piece of shit. I hope the rest of siblings get introspection, therapy, and help, doubly so for the M kids, that Anna pulls her head out of her ass, and that JB and Michelle feel such overwhelming guilt that THEY enabled this too.

In all fairness, the sisters were brainwashed and gaslighted into believing that their abuse wasn’t abuse but a “curious little boy.”  As much as I don’t care for Derrick, at least he helped Jill realize she needed (real) therapy and that wasn’t the case.  Maybe now the other sisters will get actual help.

The affidavit said that each charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. 
 

I hope he’s not awarded bond. I hope he has to endure the embarassment of a proper trial, in as open of a court as is allowed. I hope he gets the maximum sentence for both crimes. And I hope he serves every miserable minute of that 40 years.

I told my husband about the arrest this morning by the Feds and reminded him about him molesting his sisters then the Ashley Madison thing.  He immediately said child sex trafficking.  I thought thought that was a little too out there.
