I can't remember what name, date or weight I chose, so I'll just pretend I made perfect guesses. It's not my fault she's been pregnant forever. :laughing-rollingred:

There is a shopping center near me where Dick's and BJ's are next to each other.  The Beavis and Butthead laugh goes off in my head when I'm driving around there.

Brown gravy is one of the things I miss eating the most while trying to be vegan. French fries, gravy and dressing. I drool thinking about it.

This vegan (for the past almost nine years) makes and eats all that you mentioned.

Happy to give you the [very simple] recipes, if you’d like!

My favourite food is Swabian noddles (Spätzle) with brown gravy and fries. Spätzle and dark gravy is a typical children food in our area here. Like Mac 'n' Cheese in the US.

We Swabians love our gravy. We even eat Schnitzel with gravy. Other parts of Germany and especially Austria loose their mind when we do that. Schnitzel, gravy and Spätzle.

I haven't read the rest of the thread yet, but...the noodles & gravy was my grandmother's thing. She'd get the big egg noodles, cook 'em up, drain them, throw butter and breadcrumbs on them then serve them COVERED in brown gravy. DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!! Oh my God. My grandmother did not consider a meal to be a meal unless it had gravy. EVERYTHING had gravy on it. My favorite was the gravy she'd make after sauerbraten...that shit makes me drool just thinking about it. Gotta do that this winter (too fucking hot now).  I wish I knew more about where my grandparents were from in Germany.

Creamed chopped beef brings about nightmares from my childhood and my mom literally holding me down and forcing it into my mouth even though I didn't like it. But biscuits and sausage gravy are awesome!

There's a football player from U of M (think he's a Denver Bronco now) named Jake Butt and he plays tight end. That always gives me a giggle. I once worked for a Dr. Friend who anything but, total jerk!

It's pretty bad. One of the worst I've seen though was a woman who worked at my high school, Mrs. Butt!

My 6th grade teacher's name was Mrs. Lusty.  I didn't understand why my Mom was appalled until years later.

I totally know I'm going to be at work when they announce the birth. This working shit is seriously interfering with my FJ time y'all.

I had a boss named Dr. Funk. I sang “We want the Funk” every time he walked in the room. Original, I’m sure. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I love food. Both home made comfort food made of cans, and the fancy eating for lots of money. Norwegian here, and while our cuisine have evolved the last 10-20 years or so our tradition food is...interesting. Sheeps head, anyone? (Norway being a poor and cold country for a long time, so a lot of our traditional food is based on (lean)  meat, inards, fish and root vegetables).

The "new" scandinavian cuisine/kitchen is awesome, though :)

When I went to the States for the first time I had to try all the fast food chains that'd come up in discussion here and in litterature. IHOP, Sonic, Wendys.. Most of the time I was underwhelmed :p

My husband's urologist's name fortuitously rhymed with a slang term for a certain male body art.  I mentioned to a co-worker my husband was going to get snipped, and he said, "Oh, he's going to see Dr. Chang the Wang Doctor?  Tell him I said hi."  He was the only urologist in town, so he was well-known...and so was his nickname...lol.

This sounds like a very similar urban legend, so it's nearly unbelievable, but it's true. When I was applying for a fellowship for grad school this year, the technical contact for their website had the first name Latrina. I don't want to target her, but I can PM anyone her last name and the name of the organization, and from there you can find her. Poor lady.

We have a Swabian restaurant in the city I live in and oh man, the Spätzle and schnitzel is amazing. And breaded sauerkraut balls that are deep fat fried. It's a good thing I wasn't born in Germany because I'd be so fat they'd just have to roll me through the streets.

We only have a small local hospital where I live. I heard from someone (a relative I think) that there was a "hot doctor" working there. I kept an eye out when visiting. Lol. He's tall, fit, long blond hair...swoon...thank goodness he's not an OB! He's forever branded in my mind as "the hot doctor" now.

I have shopped at Giant for about 20 years.  I love when they call over the loudspeaker "Attention Giant Shoppers!!" or "Attention Giant Pharmacist!!".  I giggle every. single. time.

A few years ago, I was listening to an online health summit thingy and there was one guest speaker called Dr B.J Hardick. I don't usually have a snicker at funny names but that one really got to me. I couldn't believe it was real and had to goggle to make sure it wasn't a joke. People can't help if they have an unfortunate surname but seriously, going by unfortunate initials teamed with an unfortunate surname when you could easily go by Benjamin or Brian etc instead. I didn't listen to bit of the talk, I was way too distracted by the name.

My OB is a decent looking guy.  On top of that, he has a son a couple of months younger than my oldest and they went to a toddler gym and preschool together, so I regularly see him outside of doctor visits.  BUT, he’s a really good doctor and he delivered both my kids so I’m going to stick with him, despite his good looks.
