Another 'raising boys to be tough using violence'

This is just.... ugh!!

I have two boys. Ages are 6 and 2. My six year old is at an age where he is starting to try to push the boundaries more and more. But he still respects his father and I. The only time I spanked him was when he put himself or his brother in danger. And even then it has been maybe two or three times.

We don't need to spank them with wooden spoons. There are other ways to enforce discipline.

I just don't understand a some of these really Christian families that I read about. On the one hand they scream "children are a gift!" and on the other hand they often cross that line from discipline to abuse. It's sad!

My children are my gifts. I feel blessed to be their mother and it's up to their father and I to make sure they are nurtured and safe and raised to become productive members of society. Where does smacking them around with a wooden spoon fit into that? Sorry, I kinda went on a little rant there lol :)
