They both can't be Fredo, can they? Junior and Eric

@AmazonGrace -- it looks like someone is ramming something up junior's backside. Hopefully, it's the business end of a pitchfork. Also, whose picture is on that cookie? It's the Obama colors, but if it's supposed to be Obama, they hired a terrible "artist".

Yeah, I had a hard time understanding the point of this.

It looks more like Forest Whitaker to me.

I just don't get why the heck Fredo would think this is a good picture of him to put up on social media. I mean... he looks like he just pooped that humongous cookie and because the clock chimed* while he was at it his face got stuck like that while pushing it out.

(*An old Dutch/Flemish admonishment parents give to their kids when they're pulling funny/angry faces is: If you're still doing that when the clock chimes it'll be stuck that way forever.)

Well, Junior's fugly cookie was supposed to be Obama. Apparently not everyone thought it was cute, including the owner of the restaurant Junior tagged: "Donald Trump Jr. showed up in Dallas with a big Obama cookie. A small furor ensued."

Spoiler

A recipe for regret

1. Bake a cookie.

2. Frost it with the likeness of former president Barack Obama, styled after the iconic 2008 “HOPE” poster, but globbier and lumpier.

3. Hand the cookie to Donald Trump Jr., who will make a face and post it to Instagram. (Optional: Add Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex).)

4. Enjoy?

Certainly, some did.

The president's eldest son shared the photo on Sunday with no less than three tears-of-joy emoji, and more than 40,000 people clicked a heart beneath it.

But many most severely did not enjoy this little mix of confection and politics.

Some accused the cookie, and by extension the men with it, of disrespecting the office Trump Jr.'s father now occupies.

Some even saw racism within Obama's glazed contours.

The Dallas Observer, the city's alternative weekly newspaper, reported on calls to boycott the city's ritzy Le Bilboquet restaurant, where Trump Jr., Cruz and the Obama cookie had gathered for a party over the weekend.

Le Bilboquet's owner consequently disavowed the pastry in an open letter to his customers, expressing “indignation” that people unknown had brought the cookie into his restaurant “to promote, disrespect, and spread hatred.”

A regular customer had rented the place out for a weekend party, the owner wrote. Because Le Bilboquet caters to diners in one of Dallas's wealthiest suburbs, it may not be surprising that a senator and the president's son were on the guest list.

It remains unknown who brought the cookie.

“Some good friends decided that while my birthday is not for 2 weeks that they would get me an early 40th birthday cake,” Trump Jr. explained on Instagram, beside a photo of himself gripping the cookie with both hands and what appears to be a grimace of pain.

Cruz stands next to him.

Newsweek wrote the senator “appeared unmoved by the cookie,” though Bill Kristol saw a “sickly smile” on his face — as though he had some foreboding of the storm to come.

... < Bill Kristol's tweet >

And a storm there was.

The Hill described the cookie's decoration as a “distorted image of Obama.” (The poster it was modeled after was probably the most iconic image of the 2008 presidential campaign.)

The Daily Mail made a headline out of a quote from an obscure tweeter: “racist minstrel show on cake,” which TMZ also picked up on.

Cruz's office did not immediately respond to questions about the cookie, and Trump Jr. declined to comment on it.

But facing boycott calls in the local press, Le Bilboquet owner Stephan Courseau took to his own Instagram page Monday to, well, not exactly to tamp down the furor.

“A lot of you have been shocked and appalled to hear that Donald Trump Jr. and Ted Cruz celebrated a birthday of a friend at Le Bilboquet with a cake with our former president Barack Obama's face on it,” Courseau wrote.

“Let me be clear, I share your indignation without any reservation.”

Courseau noted he was a French man who had married a Mexican woman and believed in “universal values of love, respect and tolerance,” to which the cookie was antithetical.

Its public appearance at the party, he said, had left the staff feeling “betrayed and sad.”

Courseau subsequently removed the post — along with the restaurant's Facebook page, apparently.

An employee answered the phone at Le Bilboquet as usual on Tuesday, but the owner wasn't immediately available for comment.

Nor were there any signs his letter will mark the end of the cookie's trip through the ovens of hyperbole.

“The restaurant was bombarded with threats and is now condemning and apologizing for something it had nothing to do with,” wrote Frontpagemag.com. “Because we all live in Mao's China now.”

Conspiracy theorism is either hereditary or contagious, it seems.

Fredo-dumb suggests Ellen Degeneres is running a shadow government

Quote

Left-leaning comedian Ellen DeGeneres must be part of a “deep state” conspiracy, President Donald Trump's son Eric said on Twitter Tuesday night, after apparently misunderstanding how social media works.

The heir to the Trump real estate fortune made the assertion by tweeting a screenshot of which accounts the company's algorithm suggested he follow, including the Twitter streams of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Ellen DeGeneres.

“Shocking,” Trump tweeted. “Once again, here are the @Twitter ‘suggestions’ of who I should follow. #DeepState.”

...>Fredo-dumb's tweet<

The deep state conspiracy theory is often touted by the far right and was popularized by Steve Bannon during the 2016 presidential campaign. It refers to a shadow network that lurks within the government bureaucracy with the goal of undermining the democratically elected government, in this case the Trump administration.

Guests on Fox & Friends have falsely suggested that President Barack Obama is operating a secondary government from his Washington, D.C., home and that Hillary Clinton is in actuality the “shadow president,” of the United States. But this is the first time DeGeneres, who is a celebrity and not a government official, has been linked to the conspiracy.

Trump, 33, was quickly roasted on Twitter by commenters who thought the claim was ridiculous.

“LOL good, we’re officially at the clown stage of this. Well done Eric Trump,” responded one tweeter.

...>tweet in question<

“So...you think the ‘deep state’ makes these recommendations? You think FBI and CIA agents are responsible for twitter’s suggestion that you follow certain people on twitter? You should focus more on ‘deep paranoia,’” wrote another.  Left-leaning comedian Ellen DeGeneres must be part of a “deep state” conspiracy, President Donald Trump's son Eric said on Twitter Tuesday night, after apparently misunderstanding how social media works.

...>more tweets<

It's unclear why DeGeneres and other liberals were specifically recommended to Trump. Twitter makes its suggestions based on a diverse range of criteria, all of which have to do with user habits.

According to the website, “Account suggestions on Twitter are based on many factors, including your address book contacts (if you have chosen to upload them) as well as patterns from your following history. These suggestions are generated by algorithms, which means you may or may not know the accounts or find them relevant.”

DeGeneres received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama in 2016 for her work in supporting LGBT equality. She has said Trump is not welcome as a guest on her show.

“I can’t have someone who I feel is not only dangerous for the country and for me personally as a gay woman but to the world. He’s dividing all of us, and I think I don’t want him on the show,” she said.

I think Twitter is suggesting Clinton and Obama to him because he probably mentions their names in some of his tweets. As for Ellen, I'm guessing that Eric either has lesbian porn email contacts on his computer, or follows such accounts on an anonymous Twitter account, and the algorithm thinks that liking lesbian porn = liking lesbians in general.

Do I win a year's supply of tin foil for that? :pb_lol:

I'm sure he is constantly checking in on their twitter to get something he can use to mock them. But he's so stupid. He doesn't understand or is unaware of computer programs. He thinks Hillary has hidden a tiny little spy in his phone. He probably thought the eclipse occurred when the space station towed the moon across the sun.

It's so comforting to know that Eric remains as dumb as a post. On SNL Don, Jr. is always watching him. They need to adopt that habit in real life.

this has turned into a thing at our house-- if one of us does something dumb, we say we've pulled an Eric.

That might be a problem over here in OneKidville, as husband's name is Eric. Of course if I'm really mad at him.....

Wut?

Oh dear, people can leave a personal message for Fredo-dumb’s birthday... Hmm, I can think of a few choice things to say, what about you guys?

Seriously though, why is a political party asking the public to congratulate someone who isn’t even in office? This smacks off authoritarianism: all hail the ruling family!

It looks like Eric had a lovely, age-appropriate birthday party. He blew the candles on a Fudgie Whale cake and was dressed as a Mexican rapist.

The story does not reveal whether any of the restaurant workers were deported during the party.

Oh dear. I can see why we need the general public to send him birthday cards. The people close to him are either incredibly stupid or they hate him. Really, people, a Mexican restaurant? With all of you wearing sombreros? Is there anybody that this doesn't offend?

This gets redirected to Trump's campaign site.  You will have to leave a valid e-mail address and donate. Just like when Trump sends out an approval survey.  Speaking of the surveys, did any of you all try to fill one out? I did, and of course it is a sham.  The questions are skewed with no opportunity to say he is doing a crappy job.  The questions on the media were also rigged to make it seem as if it is all 'fake news'.

Poor little orange snowflakes, can't take anybody been mean to baby Eric.

So all these surveys and cards and polls are rigged so this needy presidunce and his family get praised. But as they're setting it up in such a way that you can only give praise and money, and not a sound of dissent is possible, they're essentially constantly going out of their way to autofellatio. Suckers.

so you have to pay to wish Eric happy birthday. Sad. Bigly. Is there anything these people won't sell? I bet Dumpy is unhappy that he can't collect money for the White House tours. No dignity, no shame. Do they not realize how pathetic their little surveys make them look?

And I thought you were kidding about the cake!

What will he do next year? Wear a cowboy hat and sit on the saddle at Texas Roadhouse? (I hope not- I like eating there.) Ideally, we'll see him in his prison jumpsuit, eating slop, just like every other day.

No.
