Did anyone else catch this super creepy quote by Jeremy in the Jinger and Jeremy website in his bio? "...everything they said only confirmed what I had already been seeing: a humble, meek, modest, intelligent young woman with a burning desire to sacrificially serve the Lord in any way she could."

It sounds like he really digs Jinger being humble, meek, and modest who is a sacrificial servant!

And "simple"- remember he vocalized that as one of the things he loved about her.

Having a favourite chore is like having a favourite disease.

I dunno, I quite enjoy cleaning the kitchen when I'm in the right mood.

My favourite thing is watching this sermon on mute. Especially at 4:30...he looks like a T-rex. lol

Jeremy's very animated...I wonder what an argument with Jinger's facial expressions and Jeremy's gestures would look like.

I watched it with no sound and started singing YMCA. (Only because of his exaggerated arm movements.)

"Isaiah 6:1 says, '...I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.' This verse played such a vital role during the whole process of creating sweet Jinger's one-of-a-kind, custom wedding dress."

Jinger--whose train is the main focus of the article--is "the Lord" in this analogy? Strange, but unintentionally empowering? (Usually it's the dude who gets to be God in conservative Christian marriage analogies.)

I wonder what it even means to 'sacrificially' serve the Lord... I keep thinking of goat slaughtering.

Why wasn't photography mentioned?

I'm sure she won't have time for a silly hobby like photography with all of those new preacher's wife duties! Duties like standing next to her husband to greet congregation members, baking casseroles for sad people, nodding passionately along to important sermons, and - of course - getting pregnant almost immediately.

It's copied and pasted from the Duggar website, which was written a long time ago. Idk why they didn't bother updating it...

My favorite disease is the flu. Since I'm not allowed to call in sick to work, I get to come in and throw up on co workers I don't like. (They usually send me home at that point.)

I'm kidding, of course.... Or am I?

I personally love anything involving my throat! I work with musicians and they avoid me like the plague if I so much as say "my throat is scratchy" - some weeks it's the only way I can get any actual work done.

Plus they bring me tea. **ha ha**

Of all the married Duggars and spouses, I think Jinger may be the least likely to get an Instagram/ social media account. Jeremy is the closest thing to a real pastor (at least he plays one on Sunday mornings in a small church). I know some pastors ask their wives to stay off social media, so they don't start kerfluffles that will affect the ministry. Some also would want to present their church as a welcoming place (not saying it is, just that they want to present it that way), and wouldn't want opinions offered by their spouse to affect this.

In a way, some pastors treat their jobs as public figures- they do have to be careful about what thoughts and opinions are available for the public. I've even heard of folks getting upset because they've seen a pastor's wife buying Cheerios instead of toasty-o's, so their pastor's family isn't being good stewards of their income, and they're paying the  pastor too much. The pastor and his family live in a fishbowl, one in which they must deal with the ramifications of on a daily basis. While some may argue this has been Jinger and the Duggars for years, because of their show, there is a difference. Jinger and Jeremy now have to face their congregation every week, not the people who like/dislike them because of their show.

Exactly. One of my pastors refuses to friend/follow any parishoners on social media because of things like this.

That's insane! Why the shit should anyone get a say in what brand of food someone else buys? That just makes it seem like they want to keep their pastor barely above the cut off for qualifying for food stamps.

They are the same type of people who like to remind those in public service, "I'm the one that pays your salary." Therefore, in their minds (not in mine), they feel justified that they have a say in how public servants (or ministers) spend their money. It's mind blowing to the rest of us- we wouldn't dream of critiquing our plumber's shopping choices or our doctors.

Many of us can't even imagine this type of scrutiny. However, read the comments the anonymous Internet trolls put on articles about teacher's salaries and the salaries of city/county/state/federal workers, and you'll see that too many, anonymously feel this way.

Because they see certain lifestyle choices as living high on the hog when the pastor should be emulating "the simple life". Like @Audrey2 said, they feel they have a right to question all purchases made by employees because their offerings go to the pastor, the church musician, the church secretary, etc.

He still believes that a person can be ex-gays....so yeah! Which makes him a disgusting human being, no matter how articulate he is.

This really burns me up.  How could Jeremy, who is fairly intelligent, educated, etc., live as long as he has, and not know at least one person who is gay?  It has always been obvious to me that they are born this way, they don't choose, any more than they can choose their sex, or eye color, or whatever.

I knew this even as a young kid, deep in the bible belt, kool-aid drinking South, I had a gay friend who was my age, and I kept his secret until he came out.  He knew he was gay, and he was terrified that he would go to hell because he had these feelings (he did die of of AIDS, early on, such an awful time).  Nobody had ever molested him, or forced him, it really wasn't about sex at that point, it was about who he was.  It's like these idiot fundies think there are gay recruiters and/or free ranging pedophiles thick on the ground everywhere.  They are soooo quick to condemn and shun (or worse :S), but I'd bet money that most of them will always cover up horrible things going on under their own roofs just as fast (been there).

(needed that vent, thanks...had to deal with my very own idiot fundie lite landlords all day yesterday, still growling a little under my breath)

He thinks Jinger is intelligent, but he also compliments her on being simple? Make up your mind Jeremy.
