I'm really confused why people keep saying he has "no" job. He is a full time lead pastor of Grace Community Church in Laredo, TX from what he says.

It's a church plant still under the authority of another church.  http://www.gcclaredo.com/

My guess is that he's the only pastor, or perhaps one of two, at a store front IFB church.  Luckily Counting On wasn't cancelled because he'd need a side job selling used cars.  That is, if he isn't as good a grifter as the Dillards.

Noooooo, not another one. Guess they gotta catch up with the Bates family. This guy will be a hidden rat, I can feel it. Hopefully he doesn't get Jinger pregnant on their honeymoon. Maybe the courtship will fail. At the very least, I hope he treats her well.

I finally figured out the one thing that was putting me off him - his voice! Seriously he sounds like he's making a parody video about an advert selling some kind of health product.

Poor Jeremy....3 hours into an announcement and his motives, background, family and career are being scrutinized, dissected and judged. I, for one, am going to withhold my thoughts and judgements at this point.

And yes, I know this is not popular as FJ is a snark site. No need to tell me that.

Poor Jeremy nothing. He could possibly NOT sell his engagement or courtship or whatever to People Magazine. If he does put his life out there on a reality tv show and magazine covers, that's what you get.

I was going to suggest Jana. She's already an interior designer, contractor, baker, childcare expert, concert pianist, and everything else you can think of. Why not Professional Photographer too?! :pb_lol:

Jana can sow the dresses, maybe even the wedding dress ;) Joy has been in training with Sienna so she can do the catering :)

That's true. It could be worse. He's an adult, not a man boy, and won't be living on JB's dime-- I hope. The thing I like is that if he's a professional soccer player, if him and Jinger end up marrying, maybe she'll get her city living after all. :)

I've read on another forum that he is likely earning about 40 k a year.  A lot of these guys have second jobs in the office season.  He isn't rolling in riches.  40 k in San Antonio isn't a huge amount of money.  He's going to be there with JB too. Maybe not living on the compound but feeding off the teet.

His church's website is gcclaredo.com. Be sure to check out their "testimonials" page, with parishioners who have been saved from such wicked lifestyles as homosexuality and Catholicism.

That page!  They also save people from logic and masturbation, apparently.

One of those guys featured must live a life where being the spokes model for former masturbation and pornography as part of your web presence isn't a deal breaker.

I am a little confused on the Catholic though..

Quote

and realized that her goods works were filthy before God

I get the whole 'works don't get you into heaven' for them and whatnot* but filthy is a little extreme.

If I'm Jesus and I love people and I've told people to take care of each other...or something...and some Catholic volunteers at a food bank, spends time as a job mentor, works a fundraiser for a children's hospital...helps an elderly neighbor out with errands and lawn care...I'm still going to be pretty happy stuff is getting done even if I'm not going to stamp their hand so they can be waived through the gates of the afterlife.

I have a hard time thinking any deity worth worshiping would see genuinely good acts as filthy - but what do I know.

*I am the first to admit there is a lot to criticize and mock in the RCC, which is why it's so weird they prefer to vilify it for things they make up or willfully misinterpret.

40k in Laredo will get you pretty far though, and I think the church he works at is there.

This is according to a friend I have who lives in Laredo.

Jeremy can preach, I wonder if he went to seminary. Finally an articulate Duggar! I hope Jinger picks up on some of his speech like Jessa did with Ben.

I think that as a faithful Christian, he wanted a girl not influenced by secularism and other ebil mainstream things. You can't get more righteous and sheltered than a Duggar girl. Also, his sermons seem more biblically based that some of the weird shit that other fundie pastors spout.

I also think JB will have more influence over Jeremy than we think. According to Wikipedia his salary is only $44,000 (2012). That's not a lot of money. Plus, he has to play nice if he wants to marry Jinger. If Boob changes his mind, all bets are off!

I'd go to his church, though. He's hot!

Yep, and Boob was like "Hell yes you can court her! Our rating are down and our reputation is shot and we need a good story line. Welcome to the family!"

So the Duggars (or Gothard) are against adoption because sins of the father and who knows what those evil people did before or while having that baby, but this guy can drink in high school, have sex, and whatever else and pray a bit and that's OKAY!?

Now I would watch that! But what we will really get is a spin off of Jessa and Jinger being boring wives while trying to out spawn eachother. Maybe one will even come up with a more unique birth site than the toilet.

My father makes more than that and it reasonably provides for a family of 5 (in addition to my mom's small income). He better hope he can make enough $$ to support 19 kids at the very least. Jinger is young and we know these guys marry fast.

Next reality series--- Real Housewives of IBLP (2nd generation).  This could be fun to cast (and I haven't ever watched any Real Housewives.

First cast can be three sets of sisters--- Jill, Jessa, Erin, Alyssa, Priscilla, Anna.

Or the Ardnt boys!!!!  This may or may not be a good idea for Jana and Joy Anna?!!!

Say what you will about the Arndt boys they all seem like really decent people and deserve a hell of a lot better than to be dragged into Duggarville.

Besides - their work is really good.  Not fundy with a camera good...they do really creative, quality work...like JB could stand having competent professionals infusing actual creativity and talent into a Duggar event.

In the RV, in the RV while driving, in the kitchen,  plus if they cut the cordial with a ki then knife, out in the wild, in the girls bathroom at the TTH, on your sister's couch because it's cuter than your and want to ruin it... The possibility es are end less

@19 cats and counting

Let's add Suzanne Keller too. There has to be a sane one after all

Sierra must be chomping at the bit.

I can just imagine Jeremy and Bin practicing sermons while wagging their fingers at each other.

JB is going to make some completely asinine comment about Jeremy being a J name.  I can hear it already.

Free Jana.  As if.

I believe Steve Maxwell would beg to differ.  Look at Jessa's shirt...

Contrasting buttons.  I think that says it all.

He's hot! Wtg jinger!!!

I really have a lot of hope for this one

Honestly, if he's marrying a Duggar, I don't have much hope. Perhaps if they did a normal non-courtship relationship where they could actually get to know each other before marrying there'd be a chance of normalcy. But he's up for marrying someone he barely knows, so my hopes aren't high. Like others have said, it strikes me as scary that any man would want a woman with no education (I don't at all mean college, but no REAL education), no independent thoughts, who wants to be submissive to her husband. Sounds dangerous, like he wants someone to control.

He went to Hartwick College for 3 years.... A small, VERY liberal, liberal arts school. Then to Syracuse. He has to be fairly well read. And....he has lived most of his adult life outside the fundie bubble. I'm counting it as a win for Jinger. It's not free, but more than she's had. Now....to find the popcorn and read everybody's comments.....maybe I'll end up eating my words, too, after I'm done! Now we need  soccer emoticons......
